Trust Me has so many secrets amongst so many couples! It is told from. various prospectives but is mainly about Jake and Emily. I was kept on my toes right to the end.

Wow, what a fantastic read. I have enjoyed a few of Sheryl Browne's books and this was one of the best. A well written page turner which kept me interested all the way through.
Trust Me is a book full of twists and turns - every time I thought I had it worked out I then had my mind changed. Highly recommend!

Psych thrillers can fall into a few different categories. I’d put this one in the heavy “psych part” because the reader gets deep insight (via internal monologues) into character motivations. As a result, we get intense insight into Emily’s thought processes and motivations. She has a lot of baggage that causes her to overthink and overreact to events and minor incidents. It made her an unreliable character because it was often hard to tell if her reactions were justified or not. There are several plot points that keep the reader off balance right along with Emily. The long passages sometimes dragged a bit, which slowed the action down. But it wasn’t bothersome. Definitely a thought-provoking book. For a full review, please visit Fireflies and Free Kicks. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for a digital ARC of the book.

First off can I just get the only negative out of the way quickly.. the cover.. it just doesn't fit the story at all! That's it, now onto the good stuff.

This is a fantastically gripping psychological thriller that had me constantly second guessing throughout and had me well and truly hooked.

As now expected from Sheryl Browne the characters are amazingly well executed with no unnecessary 'filler' characters. Emily really tugged on my heartstrings and I felt a real kinship with her, at times wanting to put my arms around her, step in front of her and give Jake a good slap!

The pacing in this book is spot on, no dips or lags so that you can literally sit back and get fully immersed, an easy one sitting read.

I'll openly admit I'm not a huge fan of books that have multiple POVs but it fully suited this book and really added to the overall story everyone's perspective was validated.

A fantastically bumpy ride with many twists and turns that will leave you guessing until the conclusion. I can't wait to see what Sheryl Browne has in store for us next.

5*

Huge thanks to netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC.

Emily and Jake work together at his father's Doctors surgery (he's a doctor and she is the practice manager) and on the surface have a perfect relationship. Unlike his father - a serial cheat and ladies man, Jake is committed to his family and they have 2 wonderful children together. Emily however is battling her demons after her twin sister died when they fought over the same man and always feels that she doesn't deserve to be happy.

One day however Emily sees an email meant for Jake, raising her suspicions about him having an affair. What follows is a spiral of events that affect not only her family but many others. As time passes, more and more patients from the surgery receive anonymous letters revealing confidential information that turns their lives upside down, affecting relationships, revealing secrets and highlighting untruths.

It has to be someone from the surgery, but who is doing this - and more importantly why? Suddenly the finger is pointing at her, and whilst she is familiar with keeping secrets, she is desperate to prove that she is innocent.

As the plot thickens this book will leave you questioning almost everyone and just when you think you have it all figured out, you won't see the ending coming!

I absolutely love this author’s books. You are absolutely guaranteed a total rollercoaster ride of a plot!

As the blurb says, this book will have you suspecting everyone. The title of “Trust Me” is particularly apt, when it appears that no-one can be trusted.

I liked Emily, and really hoped that she was the innocent party in all this. I also liked Jake, and wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. But it’s so hard to know who is responsible for the letters, and what they’d have to gain from writing them.

As the plot thickens, and layers of secrets and lies are unpeeled, the pace becomes real edge-of-your-seat stuff and it is completely impossible to put this book down. I was totally riveted by this book, it really is addictive.

Another superb psychological thriller from one of my favourite authors. Can’t recommend it enough.

Trust Me is a suspenseful domestic thriller! The minute the main character suspected a friend of cheating, my mind began forming different theories, although the ending was nothing like I predicted! I love thrillers and this one I song of my favorites! I highly recommend reading it!

I sometimes think it might be nice to live in a small little village, where everyone knows each other, and there’s no hustle and bustle; where there’s a sense of comfort and kinship; where everyone looks out for their neighbour. But then again, at the same time as looking out for you, they might also be nosing around in your business all the time. In small towns and villages, everyone knows each other so well, that they sometimes know your own business … often before you know it yourself!

And that’s the case with Emily and Jake. They look like one of those perfect couples with the perfect family. He’s joined his father (albeit a bit reluctantly; he and his dad aren’t the closest) in the small town medical practice, and Emily’s the practice manager. They’ve got two children: a boy and a girl who are basically good kids, except for the normal teenage banter and rebellion. Nothing too drastic. And in their central roles in the village, Emily and Jake are well-placed to know more than most about the goings on in the lives of the locals. Except that Emily’s starting to feel that she’s got no clue what’s going on in her own marriage!

She’s started to become suspicious of Jake’s behaviour: his increased number of late night house-calls; the phone calls he takes that he deliberately leaves the room for, so that she can’t hear who he’s talking to; and then she finds an email that someone’s sent to him that confirms what she believes … he must be having an affair! But then other residents in the village start receiving strange letters are people close to them, and quickly, loved ones are pitted against one another. Who could know such intimate details of their lives? And are they truth, or just lies, created to cause chaos and ruin relationships?

Emily knows a lot about keeping secrets. She’s been doing it for years, but before she realises it, fingers are being pointed in her direction. After all, she runs a medical practice. Surely she’s one of the only people who would be privy to such information? Emily’s life becomes a sea of confusion and she has no idea where to turn or who to trust. I have to admit that just reading about her mounting anxiety had me gasping for air at times, just imagining how she must have felt!

Trust Me is a cleverly crafted web of deceit and convoluted confusion. The author is a mastermind at skilfully weaving her way in and out of different possibilities and scenarios that can make a reader’s head spin! You just aren’t quite sure which direction you’re heading in with each new chapter as you carefully inch your way further into the labyrinth, wondering where you’re going to emerge! It’s a thrilling 4-star read!

Oh,what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive

Deception is most definitely the name of the game in this, the latest psychological thriller by brilliantly talented Sheryl Browne. Set mainly in a doctor's surgery that is situated in a small village, the story is narrated by multiple characters but is mainly told from the perspectives of Emily and Jake, two doctors who were very good at listening to and caring for their patients but not so good when it came down to sorting out their own issues. Emily's default mode seemed to be,walk away and don't listen and I thought her teenage daughter Millie behaved more maturely than her mother at times. No matter what she did poor Millie didn't seemed to be able to do anything right and Emily always seemed to be constantly on her back about one thing or another. Emily seriously got on my nerves throughout the book for various reasons but the main problem that i had with her was there was times when she reminded me of myself and caused me to sit back, reflect and feel rather ashamed of some of my own behaviour in the past. There was a number of times especially when my hubby worked away that i behaved just like Emily, anxiety and paranoia causing me to have doubts and throw accusations down the phone. The problem is that once the seed of doubt is planted, it refuses to stop growing no matter how many times that you are told that the seed is a lie. There was loads of factors that added to Emily's feelings of doubt and paranoia including a character called Sally and the small minded gossip of the other residents of the village. Emily was also living with the burden of a secret from her past, a tragic event that changed her life forever and left her with overwhelming feelings of guilt and regret.

But she wasn't the only resident who was harbouring a secret, many of the other diverse characters were concealing things from their loved ones. The question was who was the twisted individual who was sending the poison letters and destroying the villagers lives and what was the motive behind their actions?

For me personally, this was a thought provoking read that caused me to experience a wide range of emotions. As always,it is a extremely well written story that has a fantastic cast of realistic, relatable characters. The author skilfully draws the reader into her character's fictional but realistic world, the twists and turns of the plot keep the reader captivated and glued to your kindle. I love this author's thrillers and look forward to reading many more of her books in the future.

I started reading Sheryl Browne’s books since over a year and have found them to be good reads to relax with. As with the other ones I read, this book is well paced for the most part, has a very good story, decent buildup and finish.

There is trouble brewing in Emily & Jake’s marriage. Both of them work at the local clinic where Jake is the doctor, and Emily the office manager. Emily sees some signs and suspects strongly that Jake is cheating on her. At the same time, Jake finds Emily’s approach to be strange & stressful to their relationship – her constant suspicions and high strung behaviour. This takes a toll on the kids – Millie and Ben. There are ghosts from the past including her twin sister Kara which haunt Emily. There is also a set of nasty notes being sent to people across town using details of their medical conditions – somehow getting leaked from Jake’s clinic. There are some strings from the past which resurface to cause pain.

This book is paced well (descriptions of Emily’s behaviour does tend to cause the book to drag in the middle a little), though it does leave a little too much to the end. The story ties up very well at the end and is engrossing right from the start. If you like suspense novels, this is certainly a book (and author) I recommend.

I was really looking forward to reading this book. I loved the sound of the synopsis. I had read books by Sheryl Browne before and enjoyed them but this book just didn’t hit the spot for me.
It took me ages to get through it. I kept losing interest and going back to it but it felt like a bit of a slog to get through.
I was annoyed at Emily. Instead of being sceptical and suspicious she should speak to her husband as her paranoia became annoying and consumed the plot.
I will read and look forward to more Sheryl Browne books but this one just wasn’t for me.
Thank you to the publisher, the author and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book has everything! I love multiple POV and I LOVE secrets and drama, and Trust Me had more secrets than I can count. A totally engrossing thriller that will keep you guessing until the very end. Emily drove me a little crazy (silently telling her to shut up) but in the last part of the story she got herself together. FIrst read from this author, definitely not the last!

We all have secrets. Even Emily. There are things from her past she’s never shared with her husband — like how she drowned her twin sister Kara after finding her in bed with her boyfriend years before. When she receives an email that leads her to believe her husband Jake is cheating on her, those traumatic memories come crashing back as she starts to think every woman in town is possibly her husband’s mistress.

As Emily’s insane jealousy grows into paranoia, other people also start to receive letters revealing secrets that’ll destroy their lives. But unlike the message Emily received, only the people who work at Jake’s surgery would know the sensitive information being divulged. With the way she’s acting, fingers quickly point at Emily. But is she the sender — or another victim?

Written in multiple POV’s, “Trust Me” contrasts Emily’s fast-slide away from reality with a mostly stable Jake as he scrambles to figure out what’s going on. “Trust Me” is steady paced from beginning to end. Wicked, mind blowing, and continuously twisty, it's an ensnaring read that sucks you into the character Emily’s mind, as well as the story itself.

I love a psychological thriller that’s so well written, the character’s mental state is felt by the reader. The instant I felt Emily’s anxiety and nausea as if it were my own, I knew I’d found a book that accomplished just that.

So it took me quite a few weeks to.get through this maybe even months. I love Sheryl Browne as an author- do not get me wrong.
I was really exited to see Trust Me on Netgalley, but as the publishing date came and went I still didn't have a review as I couldnt get into the storyline at all.
Alot of the book felt like it was being filled with Emily's scepticism and paranoia, and then there was her past, which felt like it was repeated over and over and as though the same things were being mentioned to us repeatedly. Which became quickly annoying and irrelevant.
Emily's Paranoia- made her a very unlikable character, and the storyline itself just wasn't very good. The last few chapters finally picked up the pace but again for a Physcological Thriller, the plot twists weren't great and I didn't feel invested enough to care what the final storyline was. I'm really sorry Sheryl, Trust me just wasn't for me this time, I was glad to finish it and leave a review later than planned. Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for the advanced copy.

I really enjoyed this book and the twists and turns kept me hooked from the first page. So much that I read it all in one day. This book will have you trusting no one and constantly questioning what you think is going on. If you like a good suspense with some danger thrown in then give this a go

"Trust me" is a thrilling read with unexpected twists and turns that shocks you to the core. I really liked the blurb that's why I picked this book. It started off quite intriguing but the book was slowly paced. It took me some time to finish the book. The narration had multiple POVs which was executed well.

The writing style of the book was articulate and gossipy. The tone of the book was cautionary and defiant. The characters were engaging and real. The plot was quite bizarre and a bit gross at the end. The story revolves around Emily and Jack. Jack is a doctor running his own practice in his hometown along with his father. Emily helps in the administration part of the clinic. They have 2 children, Millie and Ben.

Everything is Hunky Dory until the people of the town start receiving anonymous scandalous letters. These letters contained confidential medical information that almost ruined the lives of the people who received them. Emily recieves an anonymous email which leads her to believe that Jack is cheating on her. Whie Jack has a suspicion that Emily is the one leaking information.

With their marriage in the weeds, they both struggle to uncover the truth. Millie on the other hand, has a secret older boyfriend and is completely avoiding her family. Ben is very moody and rude to them. As the story progresses, the stakes get higher. The past comes to the forefront and everything becomes shady. Will they all get out of this alive? Read to find out!

The ending was INSANE. I didn't expect it at all and it was a bit gross as well. I'd recommend this book to all thriller lovers. Overall, a thoroughly engaging read.

Jake and Emily are happily married with their kids Ben and Millie. Jake is the village doctor and Emily is practice manager. Emily received an email that suggests Jake is cheating on her and suddenly her life implodes. The kids are old enough to realise their parents are having problems. As if that wasn’t enough someone is leaking private medical information to family members.
I like how this unfolded and the characters. No one is perfect in this even though most characters have their hearts in the right place.
I will definitely be reading this authors other books.

Married couple Emily and Jake seem to have the perfect marriage. He’s a doctor and she runs the office of his soon to be medical practice. But the day she finds an email insinuating he is cheating on her is the day events between them deteriorate rapidly. He denies it and she becomes obsessed with his possible affair. But why are other people in town getting strange letters calling out their darkest secrets? Why are drugs missing from the medical practice? And what are their children up to?
.
A lot going on in this book that leaves you guessing until the end. Definitely has plot lines you try to solve along the way, but just can’t get there because something else is thrown in the mix. While I gave this 3 stars, I plan on checking out the authors other books because I liked the flow of her writing and the twists and turns.

Unfortunately, I had to DNF this one at 35%
I think I just wasn't in the right mindset and I had expectations of this being more suspenseful, less drama.
The story focuses on a small town family, Emily and Jake, both in a committed marriage with two children, and both working in the medical industry together in the same place. Then, a series of messages, notes and emails spread that spin rumours that chip away at everyone's trust. One day, Emily sees a suspicious email on Jake's work computer, and she suspects her husband is having an affair. Soon others experience similar anonymous messages detailing their most confidential secrets (primarily medical secrets that only a doctor such as Jake would know), so the town starts suspecting Jake. Obviously it becomes a melting pot of drama, but I stopped there as it felt like it simply plateaued here. It was too simple, and too lacklustre.

I think I just wanted the story to push along a lot quicker. I struggle to care about characters with too many everyday thoughts. I want to be whipped into the plot. I saw the reviews as being "gripping" but I just didn't feel that way at all. And then when things started picking up, it didn't really feel like it was even that sinister. It just felt like some petty revenge by someone in the village. This wasn't really my sense of dread, or danger. Small town gossip is just that, gossip.
