This is a late review, as I thought I had already posted this. So apologies if this is a little late to the party, as Christmas is now over but the recent snow might make you want to snuggle up with this Christmas story.

Everly is working hard at her business, but exasperated by her young assistant, who is not very good and make lots of mistakes. She is ready to sack her but her partner, whose niece it is, persuades her she is just over worked and needs a break. Let her assistant redeem herself and book her a lovely relaxing holiday over the Christmas period, perhaps a relaxing indulgent cruise. . Everly could of course just gone home to rural Illinois, her family haven't seen her for years (she's always too busy!). But the cruise her assistant has booked is far from relaxing or luxurious! It's a week down the Amazon river!!! What???

However, after suffering from extreme sickness after a mosi bite, she realises that there are more important things than work; she is using a different name Daisy, and the trip/conditions are helped by the addition of the tour guide and naturist Ashley Adams! There is a connection, a strong one but they both fight it.

She learns to appreciate friends and nature and then feels it's time to get home to her family for Christmas!

A lovely love story, Debbie's classic style and a great warming read during "lockdown".

I enjoyed this book but it wasn't about Christmas until the last part. It was mainly about a cruise along the Amazon River. but it was still a good and worthwhile read. I will give this 4 stars the only reason I will not give it more is because the title of the book along with numbers appeared often throughout this novel. It may be because it was an ARC for which I thank Netgalley and the publisher.

A lovely, easy to read story based on a cruise ship at Christmas time. Really enjoyed reading this one and certainly got me in the mood for the holidays.

As always Debbie Macomber has written a delightful seasonal Romance . With an unexpected cruise down the Amazon Everly ( Daisy) finds herself , especially when looked after by Asher the Naturalist on Board. I will say no more as I don't wish to spoil the story. It ends up with a traditional Family Christmas with all it's Magic ...........so enjoy .#FB, #Instagram,# GoodReads,# NetGalley , #Amazon.co.uk, #<img src="https://www.netgalley.com/badge/11bc11d0026952991f96874534f30a6fb6dbed74" width="80" height="80" alt="25 Book Reviews" title="25 Book Reviews"/>, #<img src="https://www.netgalley.com/badge/ef856e6ce35e6d2d729539aa1808a5fb4326a415" width="80" height="80" alt="Reviews Published" title="Reviews Published"/>, #<img src="https://www.netgalley.com/badge/aa60c7e77cc330186f26ea1f647542df8af8326a" width="80" height="80" alt="Professional Reader" title="Professional Reader"/>.

I want to express my gratitude to Netgalley and Little, Brown Book Group UK to give me the chance to read and review this book.

In this book we meet Everly (Daisy), a workaholic woman that will have for the first time holidays on Christmas. She will spend these days on a fabulous cruise… But it is not true. Her assistant hates her and booked a cruise from Amazon, something that she doesn’t like. In this trip, she knows Asher and her life will change forever.

My problem with this book was that I expected something different and, for this reason, I didn’t like it too much.

Firstly, I don’t feel empathy for either of the main characters. I had never the sense that they made a good couple, because they have an instalove and this is a topic that I don’t enjoy.

By the way, the writing is not bad, it is something quite fluent and simple, yet sometimes I can't continue to read, for the only reason that I don’t feel that it was a christmas book. Yes, it has a place on holidays, but also it is a cruise on Amazon. Besides, the Amazon tour happens quickly, with a little bit of explanations and with some activities that have not made sense to me as a reader.

The good point, and the reason for the 2 stars on my punctuation, is that it is a short book, with a good reflection about how our actions can make us do (or not do) some actions and how a person can change when someone shows he or she other ambitions.

I only want to say, to sum up, that maybe it’s not a book to me, but other people can enjoy this story and romantic couple of it.

Ahhh this book was so cute. It was not what I expected. When i picked up this book I expected a very christmas story with lost of snow and not an adventure in the Amazonas. In the beginning I did not really like Daisy but i grew to like her more and more. Towards the ending the book made me Tear up and almost start crying

With thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a review.

I picked this as my Christmas read this year and started it on Christmas Eve. It's only a short book but with two over excited small people it took me a bit longer to read than normal.

Everly/Daisy is a workaholic with a useless PA who happens to be her business partners niece. He refuses to let her go and instead insists Everly has the whole of December off work. The useless PA books her onto a "luxury" cruise. Everly finds herself in basic living conditions cruising down the Amazon.

Asher is a naturalist who gives guides and lectures onboard the cruise ship. He too is a workaholic. Events conspire to draw this unlikely pair together.

We all know what we are getting with this sort of book but that doesn't make them any less readable. Everly is a difficult character to like but as the book progresses and we see more of Daisy she becomes more likeable. It wasn't as Christmasey as the title would suggest so that was a bit disappointing. None the less a nice easy read with a mince pie and mulled wine on the side.

✨✨✨

This was a cute story of a high flying executive who gets booked on an Amazon trip where she meets Asher, the on board guide. Cue lots of misunderstandings accidents and new experiences. It’s not the most Christmassy book if that’s what you are looking for but a sweet read

I am a huge fan of Debbie Macomber so when I got approved for this book I was overjoyed, and I can honestly say this book did not disappoint!.
With a storyline that is so unique and enjoyable, the story truly pulls you in and captivates you from the start.
I adored the characters too, especially Everly who goes on a real journey of discovering herself and what is truly important in life. And then of course there is Asher, who once again I found myself fond of immediately. The love story between Everly and Asher was so unique and beautiful, I really did feel invested in their story.
A gorgeous, heartwarming festive read. I adored everything about this book.

Everly Lancaster (Daisy) is a workoholic who hates the idea of going back to her family home for Christmas. She has a successful real estate company which she set up with a friend from college. He soon insists that Everly takes the whole of December off to alleviate some stress so Everly decides to go on a cruise which her assistant books her. However, the cruise that her assistant books isn't exactly what Everly had in mind. Will a guide tour of the Amazon be what Everly needs to reset her mind?

This book was quite a short read compared to your normal sized book and was a very quick and easy one to get through too. The two main characters, Daisy (Everly) and Asher and both relatable and likeable. Their relationship blossoming was evident from the start which I think is always the case in romance books but I feel it never takes away the enjoyment from them. I loved seeing their feels grow for one another and the fear that Asher was feeling about taking that leap to see if him and Daisy were meant to be was something I feel is very common in todays society.

I fell in love with the cover of this book, it is truly gorgeous but I am struggling to find the connection that it has to the book? But that's maybe just me being a bit picky. From the cover I was expecting it to be set in a snow covered setting, Christmassy themed and all sorts but with the majority of it being set in the Amazon you only really got the Christmassy vibes towards the end. But that didn't take away too much enjoyment from this book and I look forward to reading more of Debbie Macombers books again in the future!

Thank you to NetGalley and Debbie Macomber for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Charming little Christmas story. High-powered real estate mogul gets told to take a month off. She is booked on an Amazon river cruise that she is completely unsuited for, and falls for the cruise's naturalist. Misunderstandings, disagreements, and slow realizations round out the plot. Somewhat of a trite ending with a happy family getting together, finally, at Christmas.

When Everly is forced to take a month off work and ends up on a cruise along the Amazon, will she use this opportunity to take a close look at her life and make some changes?

Although I did enjoy this book, after seeing the cover/title and reading the description I was really looking forward to a lovely cosy Christmas read, however on that front I was disappointed.
The majority of the story is based on the cruise, in the Amazon, with only the end being set around Christmas time with her family.

The story sees workaholic Everly take a forced month off work to destress and take some time for herself. We learn that her actual name is Daisy and both names are used throughout the book, I get what this is trying to show, but I did find it a little tedious as it swopped between the names.

The general story is good, if not a little unbelievable but the characters are likeable and you learn more about them as the story develops.

All in all a good read but certainly not a Christmas story. 3.5 stars

Thank you to Netgalley, the publishers and most importantly the author, for the chance to read this book, in exchange for an honest review.

I seem to be in the minority with this thought, but I didn't love this book, which really disappointed me, as usually I love Debbie Macomber. I think a lot of this is down to it being sold as a Christmas read, and in my opinion it's not. It's the Die Hard of Christmas romance books.
After a couple of run-ins with her business partner, Everly (Daisy) Lancaster decides to take December off from her real estate business and spend it on a cruise, where she will still have access to the office via email, but should be able to relax. This will be followed by a week with her family.
Having had a run in with her assisstant, getting her to book the cruise for her is possible not the best idea, as rather than a relaxing cruise, Everly ends up on a guided tour of the Amazon. I think this is where my main issue with the book is. Although on the whole I really enjoyed the Amazon storyline and all the mishaps that happen along the way, it took up half the book and there was absolutely nothing Christmassy about it.
I did enjoy the second half of the book a lot more, once Everly was back with her family for Chirstmas. This is where we got to see the relationships and family at the centre of everything - something that is distinctly lacking for a lot of us this year.
For the most part I loved the characters and the storyline. Some aspects of it were too unbelievable though, which did detract from my enjoyment, from Everly's jungle adventure, to her loyalty to her job - which was talked about but never actually visible.
A good novel for a bit of escapism, but not a Christmas read

Everly Lancaster always dreamed of leaving behind her hometown in rural Illinois, but her new life running a burgeoning startup in Chicago leaves little time for friends . . . or a holiday.

When a massive snowstorm hits, Everly's mother urges the workaholic to come home for Christmas, but she hesitates to return to the life that she tried so hard to escape. Searching for other holiday plans, Everly tasks her assistant with booking her a cruise - an ideal escape. She embarks on a week-long tour of the Amazon guided by charming naturalist Asher Adams, but slowly realises just how important her relationships are to her.

Everly makes a bold decision to abandon her lonely holiday plans - but can she make it home in time for Christmas Day?

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this.

I have to admit I struggled to get in to this book to start with, however, once I got into it I could not put it down. It is a heart warming story and for anyone with a bunch of siblings you will empathise with Everly. Some parts of the book were slower than I would of liked but it was still a very enjoyable read

It’s been a while since I read a Debbie Macomber book and I’d forgotten how good they are.
Everly is a partner in a real estate company and is having problems working with her partners niece as her P.A, he partner jack forces her to take a vacation and asks her P.A to book a cruise for her.
Everly sets off expecting a luxury cruise somewhere exotic. Imagine her shock when it turns out to be a cruise down The Amazon River.
I loved the characters and how the other passengers become supportive of her and when she meets Asher who is part of the crew her life changes forever.
A lighthearted fun book that made me want to keep reading into the night.
Thank you NetGalley and Little Brown Book Group UK for the early copy.

An enjoyable, quick and festive read.

Evelyn (Daisy) decides to take a break from work but her inept assistant books her on a touring Amazon holiday instead of the luxury cruise she had been expecting.

Often far-fetched but good escapist read. The main character was likeable too.

Thanks to NetGalley for my review copy.

Thank you to NetGalley and Little, Brown book group U.K. for kindly providing me with a digital copy of this book for review.
I love Debbie Macomber. By the millions of books she has sold, I know that I’m not alone in being a fan of her writing. My absolute favourite books of hers are her Christmas themed books that really embrace the festive cheer and emotions. This book, despite its very wintery cover and Christmassy title, takes place mainly on a cruise ship going through the Amazon, if you want all the Christmas feels including decorating gingerbread houses and reading A Christmas Carol, you’re going to have to wait until the last 30% of the book. So in short, it wasn’t really what I was expecting from a Debbie Macomber Christmas romance.
It is still Debbie Macomber though, and I very much enjoy her writing. I think this might be a good read for in between Christmas and new year. There’s some festive touches, but it’s not the main focus and this could work well for people who have overdone the Christmas cheer, Overall, I did enioy this book and rate it 3.5 stars.
