Many kids have a hard time focusing and understanding how to complete their homework. They feel frustrated and inept and wonder why their friends can get it done with a snap of their fingers and they take so long to finish. This book is a wonderful help for kids ( and their parents) as how this problem may get solved.

Wade, a conscientious little boy, feels his brain doesn't work right after trying so hard and coming up with results which he thinks stink. He gets discouraged and wants to throw in the towel. Why even bother. Then a miraculous thing happens to give Wade support and care. Wade's Fantabulous Brain arrives on the scene and ta da!!! offers him assistance. He teaches the discouraged little guy to give his brain a tune up by reaching into his "Brain Tool Box" which will strengthen his learning skills and bring him success. He is cautioned though that it will take time and a lot of hard work but it is doable. He is instructed to reach out to others for help and don't feel bad in doing so. With Wade's self confidence and self-esteem rising he discovers he is on a path to victory!

The illustrations enrich the text and are very well done. The message of the book is positive and encouraging to kids who struggle and it is a valuable resource for parents who desire to know how to help their child. I highly, highly recommend this book.

The illustrations are amazing. I especially liked the dog.
When you try very hard to learn and understand and make things work but whatever you are trying just doesn't work out, it is natural to feel frustrated. It helps to know you are not stupid. You are not the only one for whom things are often difficult.
This book may not solve your learning difficulties. It can start a conversation.

I loved this book! This book is about a kid who has learning disabilities. His brain helps him find ways to combat those disabilities. The kid realized that he just learns differently from his classmates and he is troubled by that. I loved that this book showed that some people learn in different ways. And it showed that sometimes people have to get specialized help to find ways to work for them. I loved this so much!

This is a really cute children's book about a little boy who is having trouble doing his schoolwork and remembering things. His brain, dressed as a little guy wearing clothes and glasses comes to his side to show him how he can do some brain training to help him remember things and do his school work. I thought the brain was so cute and was such a clever idea. He looked really funny and made the book more fun. I loved the graphics in the book and the writing. It was a great book which my daughter and I really enjoyed.

I decided to read this book to see if it would be appropriate to recommend to my students - I'm a specialist SEND educator based in the UK and work with students on our school's SEND Learning Support Register. Stories which focus on helping children to see that it's okay to find things difficult and that there are things which can help them can be a good tool for promoting resilience and good self-esteem around neurodivergence, as well as encouraging students to use specific strategies to overcome challenges.

There were parts of this book which I liked, such as showing that we can use skills from previous experiences (like positive self-talk when learning to cross the monkey bars) to tackle new problems and showing that it is possible to learn skills to help with learning difficulties.

Unfortunately, this book mostly felt like an advert for the company LearningRx rather than an educational story in its own right. Not only are there ads aimed towards adults at the start and end of the book, the story itself led up to the main character going to see LearningRx Brain Trainers and them helping to fix all of his learning issues.

I'm afraid that I can't recommend this book, except that it may be useful in the very specific for parents/carers who are already planning to invest in LearningRX's products and want to prepare their child(ren) for these Brain Training sessions.

This book is the only one I have read of its kind. At first I wasn't sure how to feel about the image of a human brain with glasses and legs, but after reading it I am appreciating the overall message of the book. It encourages a more wholistic approach to our brain development and is written in a way easily accessible by children.

Five stars. A book to help children with learning disabilities. The (mostly) rhyming text is engaging as are the fun and colorful illustrations. Children who are discouraged by failures and difficulty will find words of hope in this charming book. Includes information about the brain's "tool box" and the use of brain trainers. Recommended for children with learning difficulties as well as caring relatives and friends.

I have long been a fan of Julia Cook and this books just confirms why. She helps to explain your brain and growth mindset to young kids. I will be purchasing a copy to use in my elementary classroom for sure!

This was a cute and enjoyable read. It follows a little boy who is having trouble getting his school work completed when his 'Brain' shows him some tools that can help.

I like that the story brings attention to the fact that the reason they may have troubles is due to their brain. It's important that kids are given tools to help ease them into learning, rather than chastised for something they may not be able to control.

A great resource for parents and educators to help children understand their brain and how each one is different and unique. Sometimes, we need help training up our brains, to strengthen them and help them grow. There are beneficial resources listed in the book to help teach children (and adults) how to train their brains and grow stronger! A relatable look at what school struggles can look like with a reassuring message that asking for help is okay and, sometimes, very necessary!

My Fantabulous Brain Julia Cook is a great children’s book about children that have trouble focusing on school work. This is important issue and I think children will find it relatable.

Such an important book that should be read to all kids. We all learn differently and I think kids need to know that it’s okay. The illustrations in this one were nice as well. Definitely recommend.

I really enjoyed this book, not only for the story but for the simple ways it included at the end of the book t help train your brain. I loved the little exercises it recommended to help students learn. I will be using them with my own students. The rhyming pattern of the book was a little inconsistent but beyond that I loved the book and would recommend it to any learners.

I love the concept behind the book. It's definitely something that needs so much more normalizing. I remember being so frustrated as a kid, knowing I knew the information but never knowing how to break free of the brain blocks and learning setbacks. I love that seeing a specialist was portrayed as fun, exciting, and beneficial. Because it is! And it should be celebrated not shamed.

All that being said, this book was a big dud for my child. And since that's the target audience, I am reviewing and rating based on our conversation during and after the book. She had a really hard time staying interested and engaged with the book. It was confusingly laid out and did not have any iambic pentameter that flowed well enough (especially for children who are already struggling with understanding how to learn). In the end, my child said she didn't really "get it" and that it made her feel "confused and not smart". She did have fun with the brain games at the end and I wish they had been somewhat more incorporated into the story, to keep the kids inspired as they read.

I'm sure that many educators will love this book, but did it really keep the children, who would be consuming it, in mind when it was written?

My Fantabulous Brain is an illustrated children's book by Julia Cook that is designed to help children understand that with a little bit of effort, even the most difficult of tasks become easy.
Many children deal with the feelings of inadequacy when it comes to learning something new, but with a little bit of patience and practice, things work out and there's always the option of asking for extra help when you need it instead of giving up.
Overall, a great book for kids.

This is an excellent book for children who are struggling with their schoolwork. As a former teacher, it is hard to watch a student struggle and not be able to help find a solution. This book will encourage those students that they can do it, and it’s ok to get help from others who know how to help them. More books like this one are definitely needed! Beautifully illustrated, and fun for young audiences. Five stars hand down!

This book is very clever in explaining the concept of different learning styles. It provides encouragement and answers for kids who may wonder why they have a hard time learning. It also has valuable resources for parents to know how they can help their child.

This is a good story with beautiful illustrations. Its about a student who struggles with his work in class. But he has all the tools he needs to improve and succeed.....his brain tells him so!
The message that conveys is to believe in yourself, to keep trying and never give up!

It was during my kid bedtime story te when he demanded some different type of story, I was going through Netgalley kids sections, and suddenly I saw "My Fantabulous Brain". The book reminded me of the situation in which my kid is currently placed. Schools and tuitions are online, they are forced in house or society at max, Minimal social activity, all these factors have affected the concentration power of my kid.

The book in the story was about a boy who found it difficult to understand and remember the subjects of his study. He also found it difficult to finish classwork in class. All his time and efforts went into studies only. When he was on the verge of losing his patience his mind came to help him. The latter part shows one of the 6/7 scientific methods to help kids learn faster.

The book is a kind of demo to a completely new methodology through which we can help our kids. My 6-year-old found the book amazing, yes but he complained about it to be very short. He was expecting all methods mentioned in the book itself.

Overall a nice way to teach kids. The book deserves 4/5.
