This books tries to set out a blueprint for how Britain can reinvent itself after Brexit. Sadly it is often dry and repetitive. There is also a lot of speculation, obviously anything could happen, but this government's inept response to the coronavirus crisis and belated attempted to woo Joe Biden doesn't fill me with confidence. Many of the instances for hope that this author cites, such as London's preeminence in financial services are dependent on passporting rights which are unlikely to be granted. And the arts which he also laudes as an area where Britain punches above its weight also look likely to be decimated by a lack of government support. It is likely that the next Ed Sheeran or Adele is going to be encouraged to retrain in cyber, rather denting global records sales. I was hoping for some well grounded optimism, but what this reads like is self serving delusion from someone who voted Leave.
