Disclaimer: I absolutely loved the first two Rhiannon books, Sweet Pea and In Bloom. It’s always nerve-wracking, heading into the next in the series when you’ve loved the earlier ones so much. However, I needn’t have worried. Dead Head picks up exactly where In Bloom left off, with the exception of a nice framing chapter which brings a little intrigue – we know from the start that Rhiannon makes it to New York, yet as the book progresses it becomes increasingly difficult to see how!
I’m not going to say too much about the content of the book because SPOILERS, but suffice it to say, if you enjoyed the first two, you’ll love this one. And if you haven’t read the first two yet, WHY NOT?! Crack on!

Another great instalment in the Rhiannon Lewis series. Great to see how she grows and develops as a character throughout.

Rhiannon is back and ready for more vigilante style murder.....except she's not. She's not the Rhiannon we (shouldn't) love anymore, or ready for much of anything. She's incognito and a wee bit broken. After leaving her daughter behind at the end of In Bloom she's lost her taste for blood and we'll just about everything else. But a good bad girl can't be kept down for long!

As always this was a really enjoyable read. Perhaps not as laugh out loud as the previous installments but in this book we get to understand what makes her tick a bit more, so in fact there are a few quite touching moments thrown in this time amongst all the usual dark humour. I went in expecting this to be the end of the story but in fact it still has steam left in it and places to go. Bring it on please C.J.!

God I love Rhiannon 😂 she’s my favourite serial killer (along with Dexter)!!! She’s so funny, this is such a Dark, gritty twisted book but brilliant in itself and makes you laugh out loud (not sure if it should but...,) I loved it, I’m off to get the previous ones and immerse myself in her world! Fantastic cant wait for the next one!!!!!

Brilliant book, brilliantly written and also quite dark, which is not my normal kind of book!

Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.

This is the first I read in this series and WOW. It's dark and funny, gritty and highly entertaining.
I laughed and liked Rhiannon.
It's tightly knitted, well written and original story with a cast of fleshed out characters.
I want to read the rest of the series and can't wait for the next installment.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

The third book in this series and it succeeds in continuing the dark and gruesome, yet laugh out loud funny, read that we have come to expect after the last two books. It really didn’t disappoint in anyway for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. I would highly recommend this book.

C.j skuse certainly didn’t disappoint on book 3 of the sweet pea series. Another great read.
I found myself laughing out loud quite a few times.
Rhiannon is such a likeable character considering she’s a serial killer.
Loved out the ending was left open for book 4. I can’t wait to read it and see where Rhiannon takes us.
Thank you to netgalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read another great book.

This was one of my most anticipated books for this year and it more than lived up to my hopes for it! This is the third instalment in the SweetPea series and I loved this book. In Dead Head we are back with Rhiannon at a book launch and then the novel goes back in time and we find out what she has been up to since the last book. She is now on the run and trying to evade the authorities and she is on form! Her kill lists are absolutely brilliant, and yet again it’s disconcerting to find yourself nodding your head in agreement with some of her hates and then realising she is actually a serial killer and perhaps would kill people for these reasons. This is such a fun series though – it’s dark and at times gory but Rhiannon is one of the best fictional characters I’ve ever read about. I don’t want to say much more about this book as you really need to read the first two books first and I don’t want to risk spoiling anything. I do highly recommend this whole series though, it’s utterly brilliant!

I'm not one for reading book series. I find that they can be too much of a commitment however the Sweetpea series by CJ Skuse is one exception to this rule.

In Dead Head, the third installment, we find our psycho-protagonist on the lam. Running away from her old life and the chaos that she has caused whilst also dealing with the yearning ache for her child Ivy. We see her travel across the world to escape the storm of drama she has left and the debris of her crimes in the UK but we also know that Rhiannon cannot truly leave herself - her true self - behind. Will she kill again? Probably.

The third installment in this series is different from the first two in that we see a more introspective Rhiannon. This could be that it is told in the past/present tense. So looking back but told in the present tense. It is as though this gives us chance - and indeed Rhiannon - to consider her actions and gives us time to process them alongside her rather than seeing the red mist descend and then the chaos. This doesn't make them any less bat crap crazy but it does give us time to think.

Rhiannon Lee will probably be one of my most remembered protagonists in fiction. Her actions and her unshakable belief in vigilante justice has left a lasting impression and I am hoping that there will be more in this series.

Dead Head by CJ Skuse is available now.

Rhiannon Lewis is back! Except this time she is on the run and taking on new personas. I enjoyed this more than I did the middle book of the trio so far. It was nice to see a new spin on Rhiannon’s life and how motherhood may (or may not) have changed her. I ADORED Caro and her relationship with Rhiannon. It was also interesting to see how the relationship with Rafael developed. Of course, there is still Murder from our favourite lady serial killer and some particularly gruesome scenes towards the end which had me hooked!

After that ending I cannot see what will happen next - in fact I am desperate for book 4!! Bravo!

Gory, funny and blunt - just what you expect from Rhiannon Lewis.

Dead Head is the third instalment in the 'Sweetpea' series and what an instalment it was. Rhiannon has to be one of my favourite characters, ever. Girl Power at its finest. Who'd have thought I'd end up rooting for the killer?

Without spoiling the series, Rhiannon is different in this one, which seems odd when you've come to know what she's normally like.

I will admit that it dipped a bit but it then hits you with a punch and it's like woahhhh! So yeah, a definite 5-star rating from me.

Dead Head is the third instalment in th Sweetpea series, so I couldn't wait to read it. As expected, I finished it quickly, because CJ Skuse's writing is that addictive. In this latest Sweetpea novel, Rhiannon is on the run, having escaped her former life after one too many murders - leaving behind her newborn baby, Ivy, the one person in her life who once made her think twice about her dangerous side.

Now Rhiannon is heading to Mexico, to stay with one of her dads contacts and escape the manhunt back home. Starting with a cruise, Rhiannon tries out a new kind, 'normal' persona on the cruise-ship guests she finds herself stuck with. But soon the real Rhiannon is in danger of making herself known...

I won't go further due to spoilers, but as expected, this novel is brilliant. Rhiannon's 'kill list' are frankly perfect; something that I really enjoyed in the first two books. The only reason I'm giving this four stars rather than five is that I don't think it was quite as good as the first two - maybe this was because of the romance, but parts of the novel felt different somehow - I was missing the Rhiannon of the first two books. There wasn't as much tension, and although I'm looking forward to the next one (the ending hints to a fourth book), I'm not sure how long the series can go on. Still, this was yet another fab novel. I also love that The Alibi Girl was mentioned, which is a phenomenal novel!

Dead Head CJ Skuse
I was going to read this book, and had an advanced ebook version, then was lucky to get it on audio, and given my love for Georgia Maguire as narrator of this series, I just couldn't resist.
CJ Skuse, Georgia and the character Rhiannon will always be a winning combination for me.
I don't know if I could read this with the same level of sarcasm that Georgia manages to bring across. The character is everything I love in a book, although I wasn't sure about her at first, then fast forward to book 3 and I didn't want to finish the book and have my time with the character over.

Safe to say, if there is a book 4, I will be grabbing that on audio as soon as I can.
Loved every minute.

I LOVED this book, had me proper laughing but dark and twisted and gruesome... ahhhh top book of the year so far!
CJ Skuse is one of my favourite authors and I loved this third book in the series, it did not disappoint!
Highly recommend to everyone!
I was hooked from the outset with such a comical yet dark and complicated storyline! Not for the faint hearted!

If you take away the idea that this is a story about a serial killer, you are left with a gentle love story of a girl changing her life. I just didn’t get the sense of menace or danger that Sweetpea had. I did finish the book as I was emotionally involved in her new love but apart from the final shoot out (reminiscent of the final scenes in Al Pacino’s Scarface) it didn’t raise my pulse. I expect there is going to be another book about her further exploits as the ending clearly signalled this. I’m not sure I will be engaging.

As funny as ever, as wise cracking and as sharp, everyone's favourite serial killer Rhiannon decides the time has come to leave killing behind...leaving the UK on a cruise ship, she embarks upon a new life. But can you take the serial killer out of Rhiannon?

This is the third book in CJ Skuse's sharply observed series, and this one is multi layered and even more intriguing than the previous two. Great fun, but also thought provoking.

I love love love this series. Rhiannon is like the best friend you want but never had, she is witty and funny but also loving and protective! And aside from her being a serial killer we have a lot in common! Once again the author leaves us hanging on the edge of our seats with the final chapter of this book and I am so excited to see where Rhiannon’s journey takes her next! I found this one different to Sweet Pea and In Bloom only because of the love interest, however I loved getting to see that vulnerable side of Rhiannon! What a fabulous series so far and CJ Skuse has knocked it out the park once again!

Rhiannon Lewis is back, or is she? New name. New appearance. New life? New attitude?

I devoured the first two in the series so was giddy to get my hands on the audiobook and get a bit of sarky and twisted Rhiannon back in my life. As I initially started to read I was a bit nervous Rhiannon had lost her edge and that this book was going to be the one that let me down. Thankfully Rhiannon's usual dark, sick and absolutely hilarious self makes a reappearance quite quickly. Without spoiling anything I had also been unsure as to whether there was going to be the same level of gore and excitement as the previous two. Again, CJ Skuse did not disappoint.

This is another whopper from Skuse which again shows Rhiannon jumping off the pages and into your life. The ending is left open enough for Rhiannon to return in whatever form she decides to take and I am so excited to see her return. Long live Rhiannon.
