This was a great book for someone getting back (or just starting) to riding a bike. We should all be able to do at least basic repairs and upkeep to avoid being stranded and for safety. Biking is such a great option for getting place to place. I can't wait for Spring to pull mine out, give it a once over and hit the road!

Thank you to Laurence King Publishing Ltd and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is an excellent up to date book on all things relating to cycling and very timely with the current push for fewer cars on the road. The author has aimed it at the new or returning cyclist, but actually I cycle regularly and have found it very useful too. The book is divided into four parts. Part one is a guide to preparing and maintaining your bike. Part two explains how to ride safely, what to wear, how to choose a lock and the rules of the road. Part three is all about the health benefits of cycling and Part four gives you some ideas on how to plan a route or a tour. All very succinct, extremely helpful and includes diagrams and drawings to illustrate all of the above. Thank you to Alan Anderson, David Sparshott, Net Galley and Laurence King Publishing for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Nothing fancy about this book just good useful information clearly presented and explained. For someone who has never owned or ridden a bike before this book is a must buy.

This is such a great book for a new cyclist starting their commuting journey as is the case for myself. I know very little about bikes myself and have let my husband take care of things for me, but at the same time I acknowledge the importance of being able to carry out simple maintenance jobs myself. This book is a very gentle introduction in that regard. I have to say the aesthetic of the book was also very appealing and i absolutely love the images used. Simple illustrations but very well expressed. I think it is an enjoyable reference and one to appreciate visually.

Down to earth advice about cycling and looking after your bike. Great servicing tips. Would recommend.
