Thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for allowing me to read this book in return for a fair review.
No 3 in the Casey White detective series set in the Outer Banks.
Casey has recently been reunited with her daughter who was kidnapped 15 years previously. Casey is in a relationship with Jericho, a widower, with a son. Jericho is ex police sheriff and is running for office.
Early on Casey finds out she is pregnant and they agree to move in together to his family home.
In the midst of this domestic bliss, women are being found drowned- initially the police think it is suicide/accidental but it soon becomes clear that these are murders.
Casey had to find who is responsible and what is the link between the victims. One of the victims is Jericho’s campaign manager.
There seems to be a link with Jericho, his old school friends and the murder of his wife. How is her murderer ,Paige Kotes, currently incarcerated involved in the current murders?
Casey has a lot on her plate, her personal life including her new relationships with her daughter and Jericho, whilst trying to unravel the clues and prevent more murders.
Enjoyable, well written book- keeps the reader hooked until the end.
The relationships between the key protagonists is kept at the forefront of the storylines and brings numerous surprises.
4 Stars.
