I really enjoyed returning to Paige's story, however I do believe you could enjoy this book as a standalone too.
A book that is full of twists, turns and suspense from beginning to end, and a cast of characters that keep you guessing throughout. A truly engrossing read.

The story starts with a fire....then jumps straight into an investigation of a murder where the suspect refuses to help himself. The characters are realistic in their actions and reactions to each other. Every clue is well hidden and the reveal was so surprising.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy.
In ’The Silent Suspect’ the promise is that a body has been found in a burning house. Paige, who is an sign interpreter, is dragged into the investigation because her it’s her clients house that has burned down. The Client, Lucas, says that he knows he killed his wife, and then goes silent.

The issues I had with this book:
Paige was just so annoying. She says she isn’t going to out herself in danger, yet she does. Again and again. I didn’t care for any other of the characters, also it’s the third book in a series which I had no idea about. This makes it even harder to connect to our main character. I didn’t like the way she treated her partner… it was abusive. This was just messy.

Paige Northwood is a sign language interpreter and she receives a call from Lukas that his house has burnt down and his wife never escaped. When Paige arrives she learns that his wife, Nadia, was dead before the fire. Paige frantically signs to Lucas to figure out what happens but he stops responding and is soon arrested for Nadias murder. Nell Patterson has brought back some of her previous characters and her ability to tell a story is brilliant. This one is an easy read and will consume you as soon as you start to read it.

It was a slow start and kind of hard to get into but once it sucked me in I couldn’t put it down. I really love that whenever the characters are signing the dialogue is in italics that really helps me learn who everyone is and learn who is Deaf. It was also super twisty and I thought the killer was someone else so I loved that as well.

Loved this book, which is part of a series. This book is as good as the first two and I will definitely look out for more from Nell Pattison.
Love that the story involves the Deaf community and BSL and am always on the look out for books like this.

Paige is relatable though I found Sasha to be annoying - but that is all part of the story and Nell’s gift. We become invested.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Another great instalment of this series, the plot was intriguing and again I loved the main character. Also great to see disability representation in a way that is very well written

This is the third Paige Northwood book I've read and I loved the first two. Paige is a BSL interpreter and gets called to a house fire. The husband escapes the fire but the wife is still inside. And she's dead. Was she dead before the fire started or did the fire kill her?

I was gripped by this story but not as much as the previous two. I didn't connect with the characters and storyline as much as the first two but still enjoyed the story. I enjoyed the twists and turns and was kept guessing.

Despite not loving this as much as Nell's previous two books, I'll definitely read the 4th!

Thanks NetGalley.

Unfortunately this book was not for me, it was a bit slower than I would like and it just didn't hold my attention. I am sure other people will love it!

I’m always excited to read a book by Nell Pattison, as I know I’m going to enjoy it. This one was a 3 star read for me, but it’s a positive 3 stars as I did really enjoy it. I struggled a bit with the last book I read from Nell Pattison, Hide, but I’m really enjoying this series and I hope this wasn’t the last book! As with books 1 and 2, I did still struggle with Paige as a character. Most of the time she’s a very likeable character, but she also really annoys me at times. However I do think this is just typical behaviour for main characters in thrillers. And although she does annoy me at times, I’m very invested in her storyline, and hope there’s a book 4 for this series as I’d love to know what happens next. This book had a great storyline, it kept me hooked throughout and I didn’t guess the ending. Nell Pattison’s books are always really easy to read and I get through them very quickly. I’m really looking forward to reading more from this author in the future, and definitely recommend this series!

Paige Norwood Mystery #3

Paige Northwood, a deaf interpreter, arrives at her client's home as it is burning to the ground. Lukas' wife was dead before the fire even started and Lukas knows who the killer is, but goes silent when the police start to question him. Will Paige be able to get Lukas to talk?

I loved this thriller! It was well written with great storytelling even with the story jumping between the present and the past. I loved the twist of having deaf characters and seeing life through their eyes. There was some predictability, but I was still surprised at the reveal in the end. I can't wait to read more of the series!

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

I got this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. This is book #3 in a 3 book series.I have not read books # 1 & #2 so this impacted me understanding the story. It was enjoyable but I was lost at times.

I did not realize that this book was the third installment in a series, and I hope I can attribute this fact to why I just could not get into the plot and did not end up finishing the novel. I hope it found the right audience without me and I apologize for not being able to contribute more.

The Silent Suspect Nell Pattison
This series just doesn't work for me unfortunately. I've heard great things about it, so could be just me.

I really loved Pattison's first book with these characters and thought that this was a great second story. The mystery was interesting and compelling. Definitely a worthwhile read.

The silent suspect was a suspenseful read. I didn't realize this was a series and now I have to go back and read the others! I loved her characters and can't wait to read more.

This is the third in the Paige Northwood series; she’s a British Sign Language interpreter working in this book with profoundly deaf social worker Sasha Thomas. Paige gets a phone call from Lukas Nowalk, a deaf client of Sasha’s to say that his house is on fire and his wife is trapped inside. The storyline reveals a plot with a web of lies and intrigue at the centre.

I enjoyed the first 2 books and had high expectations from this one as well. However, this did not have the same impact as the other two. I wasn't a fan of the characters. Paige as an amateur sleuth isn't novel anymore and I was wanting more from the character. DI Forest is a very unlikeable character, Sasha is not very likeable, she’s pushy in this novel which becomes very annoying.

There's a lot going on in this novel and the threads do not all pull together until close to the end when it will all make sense. I like that this series is set in the deaf community. It shows the difficulties in communication between the deaf and the people who can hear clearly.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for sending a digital ARC one exchange for an honest review.
