Imagine knowing something but you can't tell anyone about it. The book was really a thrilling read, and I can't wait to read some more by this author! Recommended.

In Nell Pattison's the Silent Suspect, the third installment in the Paige Northwood thriller series, this would hook you from the first page to the last to keep you in suspense. It all started when Paige, a BSL interpreter, received an urgent call from one of her clients, Lukas Nowak. When she rushed to the scene, he was trapped inside his burning house with his wife Nadia. Shell-shocked, the fire department rescued him when it was too late to save Nadia who was already dead before the fire started. As he grieved the loss of his wife, it was up to Paige to contact his social worker, Sasha Thomas, to help him through this difficult time. At this same time, Paige's boyfriend Max asked her to move in with him, though she wasn't too sure if it would be a good move in their relationship. During the investigation into the fire and Nadia's murder, Lukas is on the hot seat as the culprit when both Paige and Sasha try to approve his innocence and did a bit of sleuthing on their own. She also becomes face to face with DS Rav Singh, someone she has had strong feelings for, and while they dig into Nadia's and Lukas's silent life, they learn some shocking truths about their past and discover the true culprit was right under their nose all along in the end in a life-and-death battle for Paige.

The Silent Suspect is the third book in this series, and while I thought the first 2 books were easier to follow and had better plots, this was still a good read.

I like how we get information about sign language and being an interpreter, which is different then alot of books, and I also enjoyed how the author puts being deaf and the interpreter as part of the forefront of the book.

While each book can be read as a stand alone, it does help to go in an order, especially since this one was a bit harder to follow in the series.

With complex and very well-developed characters, this was a highly gripping read and one that you must clear the decks for!

I really thought this was an interesting book! I haven't read any other books in this series, which was fine, it was easy to get into the story, and I wasn't lost. I loved the hearing impaired topics that are shown throughout the story! I enjoyed the overall plot, and I thought the characters were good!

I look forward to reading more books from this series!

The Silent Suspect is a really engaging thriller that you won't be able to put down - I could see this being made into a movie!

I was totally drawn in from the description, but the storyline got me hooked! The characters are well developed and I found the pace to be perfect. I didn’t realise that it was a third book in a series, so this was the first book from Pattison I've read but I found it to be very good as a stand alone novel. Would recommend!!

The Silent suspect is book 3 of the Paige Northwood series.

Paige is called by Lukas whose house is on fire. When his wife is pulled dead from the house the police assume that he is guilty, he's the obvious suspect. Paige thinks there's more to the story though and as usually finds herself in a dangerous position as she's getting to close to the truth!!

So I started this book and thought what a good concept q BSL interpreter telling the story of the case. Then after a couple of chapters I realised I knew this character and found I had read the second boon, that made a lot of sense so if you haven't read book 1 and 2.

I always find if funny hoe Paige puts herself in these dangerous situations. She after all is an interpreter not an investigator but she seems to forget this. I'm thinking the police should hire her as she does their job for them.
I found it a bit confusing trying to follow who did what and how everyone was linked. But after a while I felt I knew all the characters. I enjoy these books because we are on the outside of the investigation with Paige so we are purely working on what she's uncovered. I honestly didn't have a clue how it would turn out but I wasn't disappointed.

I also love reading about her relationships with her sister Anna and Max. I still love Anna she is so funny plus so honest with her sister. I've always been team Singh so not the biggest MAX fan but it was great reading the development of both relationships.

Majority of the people in her community are deaf and she refers to herself as being part of the deaf community. I find the writing to be extremely informative and I have learnt a lot from these books.

The actual case is centred around one of Paige's bosses clients. Luckas is an alcoholic and has had social services involvement to help him get on the straight and narrow. His relationship with his son is good and he loves his wife. So when he refuses to speak they believe he is protecting someone. The fire seemed like a good cover story. He won't talk to Paige either even though she's trying to interpret for him. There are so many suspects and there's so much going on. It's fun to follow and Paige is in danger once again .

Would I recommend?
Yes I love this series and I have now read book 1 so I am all caught up!! I honestly had no idea until closer to the end of the book who was guilty and why. I love Paige think she should become a detective and follow her true calling in life!! Let's see how the next chapter of her life goes.

Paige was back and called in when the suspect refused to speak. This was quite slow to start with then picked up. The audio version was pretty bad, I didn't enjoy it at all. I picked up this book and skimmed through the parts which went slow. There were a few discrepancies as the book took up creative liberties. Overall, it was a good read.

I had high hopes. The beginner was interesting but unfortunately I just felt meh throughout it. I had hoped it would have been better

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. I was very excited to read this book, since its my first from this author. However I didn't enjoy it very much and felt a lot of things were lacking like a much more defined plot, structure of events and engaging writing.

This is my second Paige Northwood novel (I missed the second one!) and once again it didn’t disappoint.
Paige is an interpreter working for social services and gets called by a client one evening whose house is on fire. He’s fine but his wife was already dead in the house. Paige can’t help but getting involved and trying to help, incurring in the wrath of DI Forest and DI Singh.
The mystery kept my attention, but I found myself wanting to know what would happened between Paige and Rav rather than find out who the murderer was! And I was left on a cliffhanger! Can’t wait for the next book!

Unfortunately I just could not get into this book. It may be one for other readers, but I was unable to finish it.

This is the third book in the Paige Northwood series but can be definitely be read as a stand-alone!

Paige Northwood who works as a freelance as a British Sign Language Interpreters for hearing impaired.

Silent Suspect starts off with a murder - and the main suspect is one of Sasha, her profoundly deaf colleague’s clients.

After the previous two books, where Paige found herself in the middle of murder investigations - she really doesn’t want to get into any trouble this time, after her near misses in the past.

Now, Paige is working as an BSL interpreter for the profoundly deaf social worker, Sasha Thomas. So when she gets a call from one of Sasha’s clients, Luke who says that his house is on fire, and that his wife is trapped inside.

When she reaches Luke’s house, it’s to realise that Luke is being arrested for his wife’s murder. All she wants to do is turn over the case to the police - but Sasha convinces her that the police won’t be on Luke’s side, especially when they realise that Luke isn’t talking to anyone; not even to his social worker or his interpreter.

There are also a whole lot of upheavals going on in Paige’s personal life (I know who I am rooting for!) and the stress of handling both does get to her at times.

However, the writing still seems to be a little stilted - the flow doesn’t really run smoothly for the plot and this, does create problems especially when you just want to get lost in a mystery.

What a good book. Very suspenseful. Well-written, full of intrigue. Many characters. I wasn’t happy that a relationship was still up in the air at the end of the book.

This is the first book I read from this author. When I started reading I didn’t know it was the third book in the Paige Northwood series, but Even if I didn’t read the previous ones didn’t impact the understanding of the plot and the characters arc . Although the synopsis grabbed me, the story didn’t hook me and I found that the Page, the protagonist made too many stupid decisions and it was frustrating.

The Silent Suspect is the third book in the series by Nell Pattison featuring Paige Northwood, a sign language interpreter.

This is a captivating and thoroughly original series and this instalment is just as good as the others, 'The Silent House' and 'Silent Night'. Dripping with atmosphere, there was a real feeling of unease and apprehension. I read this over a warm night but still felt the chills from the author's expert writing. With an exceedingly strong plot and comfortable pacing, the mystery was absorbing and compelling. There were abundant twists as the plot unfolded, and some of the characters could not be trusted seemingly determined to hamper the investigation.

The character development was impressive, building on the solidity of the previous books, particularly of Paige and the police team, though all came across as believable. Paige and DS Rav Singh are still getting along and I enjoyed Rav's sense of humour. The author dropped in plenty of tension and the conclusion was shocking and one I definitely didn’t anticipate.

Overall, The Silent Suspect is another fantastic, highly recommended, gripping mystery/ thriller from Nell Pattison and I hope the series continues.
