I enjoyed the book, but feel that it's getting to be a bit worn now. If Paige could become a police officer it would help, but the lucky amateur, especially helping the deaf community, beating the police is becoming wearing. Good story though.

Loving this series, such a different point of view, Paige is going to get in trouble everytime! I hope there will be more, an awaiting a big romance. Another fantastic book

The third in a series, THE SILENT SUSPECT follows BSL interpreter Paige as she becomes embroiled in a homicide case. Having not read the previous books in the series, I do think it works as a stand-alone but I think there are some holes that perhaps were more fleshed out in the other books but were definitely lacking in this one. However, as a whole I enjoyed the story and mystery and found the unique elements involved with dealing with deaf characters to be enlightening.

When Paige is having dinner with her boyfriend one night, a deaf client of hers (Lukas) FaceTimes her and asks her to call the police for him as his house is on fire. She does and immediately goes to his home only to learn that Lukas’s wife Nadia was also inside - but had already been murdered prior to the fire being set. When Lukas is arrested for Nadia’s murder, Paige winds up becoming an amateur sleuth in an attempt to find out what really happened as she believes he is innocent.

While I think this could use some editing (several themes were very repetitive), and the relationship that Paige has with Detective Singh feels very forced and baseless, it was still a fun quick read. I am an avid thriller reader and it was nice to experience something from a different vantage point with different kinds of characters.

This is the third book I have read by this author and again she has done a fabulous job. I love that each book centres around the same main character and that it includes people from the deaf community. Each book gives you an inside view of what life is like for those that are deaf and how they are treated and perceived by others.

Her characters are all well developed and easy to get to know. I find I can picture them without an abundance of physical description which I prefer as I can create the characters as I imagine them.

The relationships in the book are great except this one left me wanting something different.

Overall this is a wonderful murder mystery that keeps you enthralled from beginning to end. There are lots of false leads to keep you wondering who the killer is and Paige continues to get herself into dire situations in each book that only makes you like her more. A plus for the author.

Thank you to Netgalley and Avon Books for allowing me to read this amazing novel.

Now this was a good book. It’s one of those that really makes you think and leaves you pondering the ending even when it’s over.

- Paige is such a complex and well developed character. She doesn’t take things at face value and her sense of curiosity drives the story forward.
- I love the representation in this book and it also made me consider how I could be more adaptable in my day to day life.
- I thought the plot was well thought out and Nell clearly made the effort to properly consider the mystery from all angles.
- I really liked how this book played out. The pacing was just right, the writing was great and I’ll definitely read another one of these books.
- I will say, the drama with Max was what let this book down. I don’t think it was needed but this book is clearly a part of a companion series so this storyline likely makes more sense if you have read the first two books. I just think this part took away from the story and I wasn’t interested in the romance.

I would definitely recommend this!

Another great book by Nell Pattison!
I really enjoyed continuing on with Paige's story (although you do not need to read the previous books to know what's going on) The stoty had lots of twists and turns that kept me guessing! The book was very well written and I can't wait gor the next one!
Definite ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Silent Suspect is the third installment in the Paige Northwood series. Paige is a sign language interpreter for a social worker that sometimes does freelance work for the local police. In this novel, Paige becomes involved in a murder investigation that involves one of her social worker’s clients. I thought the other two books in the series had a better plot, as this book seemed to get much more involved in Paige’s personal life, sometimes at the expense of the plot, which dragged things down a bit. Although it’s a stand-alone novel, it helps to have read the previous books so you have some background, although it’s not a necessity. Overall, I still enjoyed the book (and this series), and continue to look forward to the next chapter. I received an ARC of this book from the publisher through @NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

A good read.
Lukas phoned Paige Northwood to tell her that his house is burning and his wife Nadia is in the house. And then police found that Nadia was dead before the fire started. Who set the fire,? Why they killed Nadia? Lukas refused to say anything in his defence to the police. Now, how would they find the killer?
The premise was interesting but the ending was so so. By the time I reached the ending, I wasn't much interested in knowing who the killer is. This author's first book was interesting from the first page to the last but her other two are ok ok. Overall it's a one time read.
I loved the characters of Anna and Rav Singh.
Narration of the story was good.
Thanks to NetGalley and Avon for giving me an advanced copy of this psychological thriller.

Another great read from Nell Pattison.

Paige Northwood the British Sign Language interpreter returns in this title , she is working part time with social worker Sasha, Sasha herself is deaf and Paige signs for her when needed.
An individual on Sasha’s case load is Lukas , the story begins with Paige receiving a call from him saying his house is on fire.

The book is an easy read the style of writing flows from one chapter to the next . The police officer Rav Singh is back in this novel and also the churlish DI Forest who often shows her dislike of Paige .

The characters are written in an authentic way and are likeable and gel together well , I like how the book shows the hours before the fire and returns to the present day. I usually find this confusing , but Nell Pattison’s writing is straightforward , therefore causing no issues.

There were twists in the story that I did not envisage , and I was surprised to find out the identity of the offender, which is always a good sign,
Overall a compelling read highly recommended!

Thanks to NetGalley and Avon books for this arc copy.
