This is a great introduction to mindfulness and meditation for littles. I loved how practical and simple the ideas are but I wish it stuck to less types of animals because some just didn't flow well. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my digital review copy.

Young children are just little balls of emotion and this book is the perfect way to teach them some kind of control. The world is super frustrating at any age and having some kind of technique in your pocket to help calm and control your emotions and to be mindful of how we are feeling will help anyone in the long run. This is one of the first things my husband and I taught our daughter to do when she would get overwhelmed and I'm so pleased to see this technique of self-soothing brought on through a cute story and illustrations. She's 6 now and it has prevented many meltdowns. My 4 year old on the other hand would never try this technique and he would bottle up and explode. He enjoyed the book and I'm hoping reading this a few more time and using it as an example of slowing down and mindfulness will help him. Aside from the great lesson it can teach us, the book itself was super cute and an easy read. I can't say enough about what the book has to offer though! This book would be a terrific addition to any children's' library and the lesson learned could be priceless! I would greatly recommend this book!

A sweet, beautiful children's book encouraging the little ones to practice mindfulness. I didn't love this, though, because I found the language a little too complex for the really little ones - and yet I found the art a little too simple for the older ones. Is this aimed at toddlers? Preschoolers? I also wondered what the research and evidence from child psychologists is in terms of encouraging kids to work through their strong emotions. Sweet, but I'm not sure I would recommend this to others.

Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for kindly providing me with a digital copy of this book for review.
This book is adorable. The artwork is very cute and has a comforting nursery feel to it- lots of fluffy sheep and penguins. It’s a really good sleep promoting book I feel. Although I think this can be read equally effectively in a school setting as well. I don’t think it’s a particularly insightful observation to make, but I rather think 2020 has created a lot of anxiety for children and adults alike. I think stories like this can be a useful tool to help children understand and release that anxiety. At the end there is even a suggested activity to do with your child to help control anxiety. I also loved the rhyming pattern of this book and it made it a fun and memorable read.

4 stars.

These days and this year in particular, days been full of stress, worry and anxiety, not just for adults but kids of all ages too. I like how there is a book about being calm for little kids. It's important that they learn ways to cope at a touch age so that they will cope better as teens and adults.

I also like the illustrations. They were colourful and interesting to look at. I would definitely pass this on to my little niece and all other little kids, especially those who are a bit more sensitive.

This book is TOO CUTE. It's perfect to read with a child who is may need to learn how to calm their troubled mind. It's trying to get the child to participate in mindful breathing to reduce stress and anxiety they may be experiencing. The main action it expresses is basically: "Inhale, exhale, repeat."

Each new scene in the book shows a different animal that needs to learn this little exercise, followed by the animal's happiness when it takes a moment to breathe. (And those little critters are just ADORABLE! I love the illustrations!!)

Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a free copy in return for an honest opinion.

A cute book to talk to little ones about big feelings when one is overwhelmed.
This is a great way to introduce mindfulness to little ones and let them know that feeling like that is normal. The cute rhymes will be ones that will stay with them, so they can use later on.
It's a cute storybook with great illustrations, so I'm sure it will be fun even for those who aren't struggling with any anxiety.

Many thanks to Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for the advance copy.

"A child friendly introduction to self-soothing and mindfulness with adorable animal friends."

A beautifully illustrated and written book about a cute little sheep and some adorable friends surrounding him. Perfect for any child who has anxiety tendencies to teach them to stop, breathe, think happy thoughts and take a moment. Easy steps and strategies for a parent to teach and a child to learn to ease the worries of the day.

Perfect for reading to children/grandchildren and a lovely book for them to read themselves when older, to help them overcome any worries or anxieties they face growing up.

The illustrations are particularly cute and well drawn, and overall a book I would recommend to friends.

As a primary school teacher and parent, I know how important it is to help children practice self-regulation. This sweet picture book uses engaging rhymes and colorful illustrations to teach children about mindfulness. It would be a wonderful addition to any preschool or home library!

This book is such a great idea to introduce mindfulness to kids.

Great colour palette with cute illustrations and bold colour choices. I really liked the inclusions of different animals in the book.

My favourite snippet was "When a problem feels enormous and you don't know what to do, just break it into little steps: one hop, two hops, go you!"
This was a great problem solving introduction.

Great book, would recommend to any kid and their parents (parents could use some mindfulness introduction too!).

This little story picture book is so damn precious!

Let's get this. These books actually help. Kids are generally shy and start getting anxious in unfamiliar surroundings (forget kids! We all do!).

Because we have been taught to be careful and to fear all the time.

So yes, let's read such cute little books with amazing (yes, candy like!) illustrations which actually tells you easy steps to follow in case you get too much anxious in a situation.

Love this book!

Those cute little animals though! My heart is happy!

Thank you, Authors and the Publisher for this advanced reader copy.

Such a sweet book to teach little ones self-soothing and mindfulness. I wish this book had been around when I was a wee one. Cute as a button illustrations of our animal friends in nature will keep children engaged. Perfect for reading outside and practicing some of the strategies presented while surrounded by nature. I could definitely tell the author has connected with the fact that our fellow animals have a lot to teach us.

A terrific underlying message for little ones to learn to pause and find ways to reduce anxiety, delivered through some nice illustrations and a simple yet important story. The rhyming is a shade forced at times or the phrases don't scan as smoothly as you'd want in terms of rhythm etc (being picky) but this is a nice book that I'll definitely be reading again with our five-year-old.
