Ten Days with a Duke By Erica Ridley is the eleventh book in the series 12 Dukes of Christmas. I have enjoyed each of the books in this series. The books are light hearted love stories with unique characters and fun situations. The village is Cressmore but called Christmas with all the variety of characters makes it just a fun place to visit. The fact that all the stories in this series are set in Christmas is just icing on the cake.

In this particular novel we are introduced to Olive Harper and her famous horses. She is all about the training and caring of her horses and looks forward to continuing her life in just that vein. Her father however, has a different idea.

Elijah Weston is a scholar and botanist. His family owns the largest horse farm in the nation. A long time ago, Olive and Elijah’s parents were friends and partners. His father is forcing him to participate in a scheme to make the Harper’s pay.

Elijah and Olive have no desire to marry or even form a relationship, but they are forced together. Both feel forced by their family, but slowly are feeling more for each other. I loved them together (perhaps even they might be my favorite pair). Ten Days with a Duke by Erica Ridley was a good read.

Ten Days with a Duke
Book 11 in the 12 Dukes of Christmas Series
Rating: 4 stars
Thank you to the author/publisher for the ARC given through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this one. I'm usually not a fan of second chance at romance tropes, but this one was so good. The circumstances in which Eli and Olive are driven apart when they were younger were so sad. Especially for her since he is the one who hurt her feelings in a very cruel way. We later find out Eli's reasons for doing that and the author did a good job in making us feel bad for him too.
It is ten years later when both their fathers decide to intervene in their lives that Eli and Olive are brought together. Both parents have their own reasons for doing so. I felt Olive's pain for not trusting whatever Eli would say to her. It is as the same time that we get to learn Eli's true feelings towards her and all that he had to endure in order to please his father.
Olive fought her feelings for him, but it was Eli's determination to prove himself that finally gave them that opportunity to finally find their HEA.

Ten Days with a Duke by Erica Ridley

It is about a feud between the Harper’s and Weston’s their respective son and daughter are completely opposites one only lives for horses the other is a complete scholar and that’s when the fun begins when they are to become betrothed.

Another great book from Erica Ridley in the 12 Dukes of Christmas series.

All the stand alone books I have read so far from have been good.

This book is well written. Funny a bit sad in bits but a fun read very enjoyable

Erica Ridley has done it again! I've loved every one of the 12 dukes of Christmas series. They're the perfect length to read if you only have an hour free, and so heartwarming. The characters each have things holding them back but it's nice to see them battling these so that love wins out in the end. I would definitely recommend this book to others and advise to read the whole series as, even though they don't follow on from each other as they're each about different characters, the story is equally heartwarming and enjoyable in each, so you wouldn't want to miss out

Opposite attracts in this book! :) The horse mad Olive and the intellectual Eli are great characters. I love how sweet and loving they are once you get to know them. There are a lot of schemes and feuds in the background, The ending is so wonderful and ties things up nicely.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

I really enjoyed this! I thought I loved the previous two 12 Dukes of Christmas books but nope, this one's my favorite. Where Erica Ridley shines is creating characters that are interesting and unique and that grab you from the first page and make you root for them.

I love everything about this novel. I love how competent Olive is and how she knows her worth (as far as running a horse farm is concerned). I love how Eli dreads horses and wants nothing but to be left alone to study botany and discover cures for childbed fever. I love how they're drawn to one another despite being sworn enemies. I even love their fathers' feuding and manipulations.

All of it was grand and made for an extremely satisfying romance. Five enthusiastic stars from me!

This is a different story from Erica. It veers off her normal path and it is a lovely story. It is subtle yet packs a powerful punch. Elijah is a bit of a nerd but how he is described is totally sexy and Olive was humiliated as a child but learns that she should not be embarrassed. It is a bit like the training of the horses, you just have to have patience. So who has the upper hand? Not who you think.

This addition to the series is another treat. Great storyline. Loving, strong characters and wonderful Christmas setting.

Eli and Olive are stuck in a family feud between their fathers, making them enemies. Olive's passion is horses whereas Eli's is horticulture. In an attempt to reconcile, Olive's father makes a proposal. The proposal involves Eli and Olive who themselves despise each other for something cruel and humiliating that happened when they were teenagers. They have now matured and prepared to make amends on conditions imposed by their fathers. Eli's father has his own agenda and no one bears a grudge better than him. His ultimate goal is very devious. Can Eli go through with the plan? Can Olive forgive him when she learns the truth?

The story is well presented. Eli and Olive are entertaining and loving characters. The twists are unexpected. An interesting and easy to read plot. A fabulous series.

I received a complimentary eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.
