I found this book very frustrating to read, I had trouble connecting with the characters and felt like it was very contrived. Julia's husband had 8 affairs but she chose to ignore them. She up and leaves her entire life but somehow manages to do it with a nice little bow and then off to RI to build an inn. How the story unfolds is extremely unrealistic.

I received a digital ARC copy of Still Crazy by Judy Prescott Marshall in exchange for my honest review.

Still Crazy offers readers an an emotional story of a thirty year marriage that has become broken by the trauma of suspicion and multiple infidelities. On the surface, it appears that Dan and Julie Holliday have the perfect marriage. Aside from their careers, they spend the majority of their time together. Their marriage is picture perfect to everyone around them.

Until the day that Julie finds the note. A note so inconspicuous that Julie knows in her heart that Dan has once again been unfaithful. She has suspected infidelities in the past, but Dan has always denied the accusations over and over again. His denials always left Julie uncertain and questioning her own sanity. After all, is she not enough?

Unable to shake off her suspicions any longer, Julie reflects on the situation and makes major life altering decisions that effects everything and everyone that she loves. After selling her properties and her business, Julie leaves New York and leaves no forwarding address. Though her heart is shredded, her decision to leave is the only way she sees of setting Dan free to pursue his happiness.

With a hefty sum, Julie builds a new home filled with new friends that have become family in The Inn in Rhode Island. But what she didn't expect to find in the inn was the potential for a new love in her new life...

As another day closes on her past, Julie finds herself with the help of her new friends and fiercest protectors growing stronger and stronger. And with this new found strength, she begins to discover who she is and the life she deserves...and she won't settle for less.

As a debut title, I was impressed with the theme of the book, as well as the greater message about forgiveness. Forgiveness frees us from the hurt, but it often takes a long time to get there. It's cliché to say that time heals, but there is merit to it nonetheless. I look forward to reading future titles by Julie Prescott Marshall.

An unbelievable story about finding the strength to push through and overcome the pain. It is about resilience and never giving up on yourself. Thank you, NetGalley, for this ARC in exchange for my review.

Still Crazy is about a woman who discovers her husband has cheated on her and it has been multiple times over the course of their marriage. Her discovery was after she had to endure being treated like she was all wrong and how could she possibly think he would be doing this to her when he loved her with all of his heart.
Dan made her feel as though she was having a nervous breakdown and that she was imagining things. He definitely had issues that was not normal when he was trying to harm his wife psychologically.
The author has a great storyline, but it seems as though the flow is off and it jumps timelines and you are not sure what year has passed or is it a month? Then you are seeing love progressing when they only meet a few times and employees are encouraging the boss.
I wanted the book to progress because the characters were interesting and likable and they could have been developed even further, but things sort of stalled.

I received a free advanced copy from NetGalley and these are my willingly given thoughts and opinions.

This is a tough review to write. I wanted to like it based upon the synopsis, but I was quite disappointed. It’s kind of hard to find much to like about the book. I guess I did like some of the supporting characters, but the main ones were very hard to empathize with and the dialogue was all over the place.
Julie thinks she has found out that her husband of 30 years has been cheating on her. Rather than address the issue with him and decide what to do from there, she sells off everything she owns and packs up her stuff and moves away to start life over. She moves to Rhode island and opens an inn and carries on with her life even though her heart is broken every day and everything reminds her of him and their life together. She doesn’t listen to her new friends, her own heart or anything. She makes random choices and her personality is just so flat it’s exhausting. And there were several inconsistencies in the storyline as well.
I try to find some good in any of the books I read because I respect the hard work that goes into writing a book, so I’d say that I appreciate that she claimed she was a woman of faith, but at the same time, she didn’t act like it, and only used it when it suited her mood.
Overall I think this will be a better read if it gets some more editing and some thoughts out more into trying to make both Julie and her husband characters that you can feel for. Because as is, neither one is very redeemable.
Thanks to the author and Netgalley for this Arc in exchange for my review.

I tried to read this, but gave up about 1/4 of the way through. It was definitely a DNF for me. I would still read more by the author. However, I just didn't connect with this story.

I think one of the more telling aspects of this redemptive moments of this wonderful story is when Julie in the midst of standing on her own and making a new life reflects that the man who made her start this journey would approve of what she has done. Even after the hurt all wives fear and she has survived Julie in a corner of her heart still wants to share a moment of triumph with a man who if the tables were turned would not seek her out first. A husband strays finds the new life not as he envisions and wants the old one back. Too bad the wife has moved in a healthier path. One that offers a new contentment and joy. A great read .

I just finished STILL CRAZY by Judy Prescott Marshall. I loved the beginning of the book. Julie Holliday has been married for thirty years to Dan in what seems to be a perfect marriage. She has a successful bakery and Dan has a successful business. So much talk about the perfect marriage and then we find out (according to Julie) that Dan has had affairs with eight women. As a reader, I thought there would be a confrontation or is she just imagining that Dan has cheated. After the first few chapters, I started losing interest. There were too many early morning walks with Dan....The bakery was interesting and we are told over and over how Lynnae, master baker, has been like a daughter to both she and Dan. We are also to,d Julie has anxiety. I think Part 1 should be the book. Develop the bakery scenes and show if Dan really is having the affairs or have a confrontation. Then make Part 2 the sequel. It just does not make sense to me that Julie sells the bakery and leaves with a note to Dan and starts a new life.

This is a tough review for me to write. I try to find something positive to highlight about every book that I read but I’m really struggling to identify anything I really liked in this one. I felt like the characters were impossible to empathize with and a lot of the dialogue was stilted or felt forced. I am not religious but I don’t mind reading about religious characters, but the constant flat way Julie prayed or commented on her blessings got really old really fast for me. I think I could have gotten past all of that if the story was good, but I didn’t really like the arc this story took. Julie suspects her husband of cheating and instead of addressing it with him she drives herself crazy trying to figure out why. Finally she decides she’s had enough and leaves him in order to set him free because she clearly wasn’t enough for him. The idea that it is a person’s fault if their partner cheats on them offends me. And that’s basically the idea she accepts. And I’m sorry but the ending did not work for me at all. I believe if someone truly loves you they won’t cheat on you for about three decades.

Still Crazy is a wonderful debut novel about forgiveness and how to move on while finding yourself without losing your faith in God. Julie Holliday has been married to Dan for 30 years. The love of her life. All she wants to do is to be with him forever and be the perfect wife. However, Dan continues to break her heart. She suspects Dan has had numerous affairs. I gave this 4 stars because it was a bit choppy that needs a bit of editing.

I received an ARC from Judy Prescott Marshall through NetGalley for an honest review. This book intrigued me. Julie Holliday was married to Dan, and they seemed to have a loving relationship and loved doing things together. But Julie has suspected her husband has cheated on her over the years and when she questions him, each time he denies it. When she sees a note on her husband's desk written by a woman on flowery stationery with a name and number she is suspicious once again. This time she doesn't say anything to her husband. She decides to catch him in the act but she finally can't live that way and up and leaves after selling off all her businesses.
She goes to Rhode Island and buys an old farmhouse and hires locals to make it into an inn with lots and lots of garden. She questions God about why He brought Dan and her together because she loved him, and she knew he loved her but couldn't seem to be able to be faithful. When the inn was finished she asked some local people to come and work with her at the inn. They each had their own place at the inn and a salary and as the inn became profitable, she split the profits with them, so they could build a retirement fund.
She is an incredible woman but living with a man that cheated and then lied to her, she had panic attacks, she had separation anxiety so bad, she just kept making herself sick. In time, she figured some things out, but her heart just wouldn't let go of the love for her husband. Two and a half years after she left, Dan arrives at the inn. He says he can't live without her and has been seeing a therapist, and he read her journal that she kept when she was married to him, which showed how much pain she was in and what it was doing to her. He never realized it when they were together but once she was gone, he saw a lot of things he hadn't seen before. You will have to read the book to see what happens, to find out if he is a changed man and if he had really learned anything but also would Julie be able to stay strong if she took him back.

Still Crazy is a very compelling story that I could not put down until the last page, including the sneak peek of its sequel. It's a story about a wife who loves her husband with all her heart, but suspects he has been seeing other women over the course of their 30 year marriage. When she can't get any straight answers from him, she starts taking more drastic measures to deal with her heartache. This was a beautiful story that I enjoyed even though some of the things the characters did were driving me crazy!

Thank you to NetGalley and Judy Prescott Marshall for allowing me to read an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

A book for any woman, or man, trying to make a new life...jumping out there, without a net, and becoming her best self. I thoroughly enjoyed Still Crazy and was rooting for Julie while she learnt to survive on her own and heal her hurts of the past.

Still Crazy deals with the difficult topic of marital infidelity. Julie Holliday is an ideal wife that is devoted to her husband Dan. Unfortunately, Dan is not as devoted to their marital vows as she is, so Julie leaves everything behind and escapes to Rhode Island where she tries start fresh as the owner of an inn.

A charming and heartwarming read, reminding the reader to never give up on life.

Still Crazy was a good read. Really enjoyed all the characters except the main character, Julie. She was someone I just couldn’t relate to at all. It was hard for me to come to terms with the way she handled the situation within her marriage and then her subsequent life. I kept trying to see what the other characters saw within her that I was unable to see. She was so weak with all the important issues in her life and seemed to rely on everyone else. I grew particularly enamored with Frank and hope to meet him again. Although Julie seemed to have an endless supply of money, I loved reading about the development of the Inn. Judy’s descriptions were so detailed I had a strong image in my mind. Having lived within an hour of Point Judith and worked at Ballards on Block Island I was very familiar with the quaint setting as I knew it 45+ years ago..
Many thanks to Judy Prescott Marshall, First Edition, and NetGalley for affording me the opportunity to read an arc of Still Crazy.

This was a great story and took my mind away from the ugliness of the world at this time. At first, I didn’t know what to think and then I got invested in the characters and wanted to know what happens. At some points in the story, I thought it was over the top, like when the budget for the Inn was $400 million. Anyhow - this is a touching story and I enjoyed it.

I would like to thank NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

A wonderful book that makes you feel a gamete of emotion throughout the whole thing. It draws you heavily into the storyline and doesn’t let up till you are done.

This is an unforgettable book and I'm excited the author Judy Prescott Marshall is releasing a sequel. The story needs to be told for so many that have giving up on making a life for themselves after a heartbreak occurs. Still Crazy is the story of Julie's journey from what she thought would be the love of her life becomes tarnished by an unfaithful husband. Although her love for him never stops, she decides to plow through the pain and betrayal by forgiving him and trusting in her faith in God that she can build another life for herself without him.
With the hard realization that she was not enough for him in what she thought was a perfect marriage for 30 years, she moves on to open a successful Inn in Rhode Island. This is a beautiful story of finding the resilience we all have within to overcome heartache and self destruction to build something bigger than we could ever imagine. Never settling for what if, but moving toward good health and happiness was the only solution to ensure Julie's self worth mattered.
Good job, Judy! This is well-written and heartfelt when we are all going through a constant sense of unprecedented times. This was yet an affliction on someone's heart, but even as her faith waivers it came across as triumphant recovery of the heart.
Thank you NetGalley for an unbelievably good ARC in exchange for my review!

Still Crazy is not a book for me.
1. I don't like that the wife immediately jumps to conclusion. I dnf'd it, so maybe she's right. But I didn't like her behavior.
2. I am a religious person, but I don't want it in my books. When she is early on praying to god for guidance, I just couldn't read this.

When I decided to request for this book, I was really excited. But I couldn't find a connection to the characters. I felt the plot kind d of unreal. Definitely it was not the book I was hoping to read, although I'm aware it can be a good book for other readers.
I wish the author good luck.

Still Crazy by Judy Prescott Marshall is an emotional novel that dealt with the tough topic of marital infidelity. Julie Holliday is an ideal wife and is devoted to her husband Dan. Unfortunately, Dan is less devoted to the sanctity of his marriage vows.

Julie undergoes an emotional and actual journey away from her husband and close group of friends. She leaves everything behind, and escapes to Rhode Island where she begins again as a owner of an inn. Julie feels she needs to physically remove herself from Dan in order to heal again.

This book has an assortment of excellent secondary characters who add to the storytelling. Witnessing the journey Julie goes through was a beautiful and painful experience, but it was made better by her supportive friends.

The book was slightly redundant and could benefit from a tighter editing process, but the overall message is worthwhile.

I was provided a free advance reader copy from Judy Prescott Marshall in exchange for my honest review on Net Galley. The opinions shared in this review are my own.
