An insightful, heartbreaking and inspiring story of the Daraya library and stronghold in the midst of the Syrian civil war.

While I loved the content, the way it was written was a little hard to follow and I wish there had been a little more of a consistent narrative. Obviously I appreciate that information sharing and looking back makes this difficult, but just a thought...

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher!

Engaging book about finding the tools for survival in books. The creation of a library in the heart of a war-torn city shows just how meaningful the written word is to retain our central humanity. Highly recommended.
