Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for giving me a chance to read this book. The book was easy to get into and I finished it in about 2 days. The author is very descriptive in her writing and I liked that I could picture myself in the story. I was able to visualize all of Winter’s outfits and posts. I enjoyed how the story jumped back and forth between Winter and Bo’s POV. What started to get annoying was getting too much of Winter’s insecurities and not enough detail about why she is that way until closer to the end of the book. The supporting characters like Mia and Jeremiah were a bit 2 dimensional and not really fully fleshed out as characters. I have read better books but this one was entertaining enough if I wanted something mindless and light hearted to read on a rainy day.

Winter Smith is a Fashion influencer on Nanogram and Stylesnap. Bo Blaine comes from a very wealthy family and has opened his own bowling alley. They both have issues. Winter has social anxiety and panic attacks, though the reader is not told why until later in the story. Bo has extreme anger issues and the reader is not really told why but they are extensive. They meet at the opening of Blaine's Lanes, which is Bo's bowling alley. It is insta-attraction until Winter googles him and realizes he has anger issues and blocks him everywhere, Which no one understands until later in the story. There are other characters ,which are very funny and lighten up the book extensively.

I was so excited about this book and devoured it in one day. In the end, I was left a little wanting. This could have been a great story with just the romance between Blaine and Winter and the situation with Lyle being resolved, but in the end a whole other situation is added in order to lead into another book, where I thought it was wrapped up nicely just as it was.

This was a cute story, very influenced by the world we live in now- the age of social media. The characters were sweet, with some baggage that we got a glimpse of, and some struggles we watched them go through. It was well written, but the character development left much to be desired- but she set it up perfectly for the next book so maybe we'll get a little more dirt in that one!

So here's the truth, I recieved this ARC about a week ago to review. I opened the file to start reading it and only got through the first chapter. Not sure if it was the mood I was in but I couldn't continue reading. The characters in just the first chapter alone, were annoying. I understand the book is centered on social media platforms but the characters didn't have to be so immature.
Now as for today, I picked the ARC back up, reread the first chapter and then the whole book. Maybe it's that I'm in my early thirties now and can no longer read most YA novels, but this book felt like a YA novel to me. Well as they call the new genre now, New Adult. My main reason for the two stars is that I just couldn't relate to the characters or the story itself.

I was really excited to read this even though I'm not social media savvy by any means, but the cover was just so cute and I was really hoping I might like it because it's different than what I usually read. I did finish the entire book cover to cover because I felt like I really owed the author and publisher my best effort.

I can't put my finger on exactly why I don't like this book because I suspect a big part of it is just personal preference and relatability. I just couldn't relate to any of the characters. It makes me sad because I really liked the premise of the book. I'm in my late-20s so I don't think I'm too old for the dialogue or the content but all the characters and dialogue seemed immature to me and I couldn't really get into it.

There were some cute moments for sure and I think a younger audience may very well enjoy this as the scenes are not overly steamy, but overall, I just don't think this was my cup of tea.

When a local influencer meets a tech mogel at the opening of his unique bowling alley sparks fly. But Winter who is still fresh out of an abusive relationship is hesitant to take a leap especially when Bo's reputation isnt as clean as she'd like. Both of them try their best not to let the feelings take over, but when Winter's friend Mia pulls the strings they end up together all weekend and giving in to the sparks they felt since the first time they met.

I didn't really love the premise of "love at first sight" thing where they just "knew" but had only had 1 small conversation. It seemed kind of emotionally stunted and almost addictive for all the wrong reasons. And somehow Bo just knows all the right things to say even though he isnt good with relationships. I didn't feel super connected to the characters or the plot. The plot didn't twist and hook me in to the last chapter and by then I was already kind of annoyed that nothing huge had happened. Of course it hooked me in and I will still probably read the second book to see where that twist goes.

I was not able to finish reading #Blocked: A Social Media Love Story, read to approximately 45%). Although it is said to be a new adult book, and the two main characters (Winter and Bo) appear to be in their late twenties, it reads more like a young adult book. Both characters are very immature, although they have both clearly had life experiences which would lead them to be the age of my estimated late twenties.
Neither of the main characters are very likeable, and there are just too many incidents of both acting as per their unpleasant traits to make the book readable for me.
I am sure that this book will appeal to other readers (maybe the young adult market) but was not one for me.

The beginning had such potential and then it got kind of lost me after 25%. I felt no real connection to any of the characters and found myself skimming just to finish the book.

So this is a ya contemporary novel, set up to lead onto a series which I didn't expect but doesn't matter too much because I enjoy reading series too.
It has a sort of slow burn with a little strangers to lovers on the girls part because she blocks the male protagonist on social media, hence the title.
It's an easy enjoyable read, finished in a day and looking forward to the sequel.

I really wanted to like this book. The premise was interesting, a cute take on modern romance — an influencer & a misunderstood bachelor with a bad reputation meet. Unfortunately, it fell flat halfway through, making it hard for me to get through it. Not sure if it was because I wasn’t the biggest fan of the characters, making it hard to fully connect to the story. It’s a quick read, but not my favorite.

This book gets off to a running start and then starts to burn out in favour of becoming a series. Get stuck in for a gossip girl like book in the modern age.

Winter is a social media influencer with anxiety and PTSD because of her past. Bo is a member of an entrepreneurial family with some shady secrets. With a bunch of fun side characters like Mia, Camilla and Jeremiah this is a fun group that would be great to follow for a few novels.

Where this book lost its way with me was the plot and pacing. The relationship is pretty insta-love which is not my cup of tea. Finally, the second half just seems to have plot points appear out of nowhere.

This book will definitely have its fans particularly if you liked America Royals I feel like you would enjoy this. Blocked has great moments they just weren't enough for me but there will definitely be some big fans of this book.

This wasn't what I expected. First, I didn't know this gonna be a series. Second I expected a romance New Adult novel, not YA novel with insta love.
How old are the characters, because thought that they are in their mid twenties, but they are acting like they are teenager?!
This book started strong and ended so, so weak. I love the begining., And than what happened?! I just do not know. Like this wasn't the same book.
After adopting kittens it all fall apart for me.
Just I don't know... I just really wanted to love it. But I just couldn't. It is not bad it is a 3 stars read, but I don't get this book, because nothing happens...I really am disappointed.

I felt like this story was enjoyable, but very simple and at times immature. These are supposed to be adults, but they’re acting like college kids. There’s a lot of “oh no I shouldn’t, but I will anyways” and not anything deep for the romance. Also, It is not a finished story because there’s going to be a sequel. If you can put that aside, it is a cute and short romance.

I was really disappointed with this book, as I was looking forward to reading it.

I just felt no flow with the writing, and found myself just not gelling with characters.

I am sure others may find it enjoyable though.

A New Adult title that will appeal to fans of Gossip Girls…with steamy scenes. A very modern love story.
Blocked: A Social Media Love story opens with the female MC, Winter, a fashion & lifestyle blogger whose days are punctuated by the shots she takes and the work she puts into getting the perfect social media posts.
You won’t be surprised that this book does explore the realms of the self image and what we project to the world: what is real and what is imagined by others.
In terms of Bo, the male protagonist, we can see how people judge on appearance and heresay.
Winter seeks to protect herself from being hurt, reluctant to trust, hesitant to show her true self. We slowly learn how past experiences in life lead her to act they way she does.
The book does not go into too much detail about the issues from the past that lead both Winter and Bo to behave how they do (Bo having anger issues that are obvious from his opening sections). It is positive that the author goes some way to demonstrate both characters grappling with these issues. (Some people may be triggered by the descriptions of the MC anxiety).
Description is all around this novel: whether that be the characters, clothing, places. Good pacing retained my interest throughout.
A modern love story with a few steamy descriptions – the only disappointment being the abrupt ending, although to be fair it is obvious in its description that it is one of two books in a series.

This book started off really strong, got kind of boring, and then picked back up again. This book would be the perfect spring read and a light read for a trip to the beach. I love that this is a modern love story even though I found Winter to be kind of annoying about things.
