Book 7 in the DI Jackman and DS Evans series. Another fantastic read, this series just keeps getting better and better! Such unusual storyline, totally gripped from the first page to the last ! Highly recommend

I absolutely loved this installment in the series. Orac is a fascinating character, and her relationship with Jackman is always amusing to observe. Her disappearance had me legitimately worried, and the storyline of the urban explorers was also quite interesting. I would say, though, that my favorite part of each book is being part of Jackman‘s and Marie’s lives and watching how things unfold for them personally. Ms. Ellis certainly has a gift of bringing characters to life. I look forward to each of her releases — she is a prolific writer, but I don’t think she can ever write quickly enough for her myriad of fans!

This book was very entertaining and to me the concept was unique and fresh which is hard to find these days with thrillers and crime novels

this was a great mystery novel, the mystery itself was well done and it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The characters were great and I enjoyed going on this journey.

DI Rowan Jackman and DS Marie Evans are brought in to investigate a series of 3 missing urban explorers while looking around abandoned buildings. At the same time, their IT Director, Orla Cracken (known and Orac) has gone AWOL, which is very out of character. Orac makes contact with Marie who has to help decipher the reason behind Oracs disappearance.
The bodies of the missing urban explorers are discovered, with another now missing. The race is on for Jackman and team to find out who is behind this killing spree.
An enjoyable crime thriller, as 7th in the series, a great fondness has built up for the characters, but can also be read as a standalone.

I loved it. The enigmatic Orac’s past is revealed - we’ll, a part of it.
The crimes were horrific but new and its motivation heartbreaking.

Another excellent book from Joy Ellis. The Jackman and Evans series always has something new to give and I love the way it ties in with the Fen books. Highly recommended.

DI Jackman and his team are in the midst of a baffling case. So called urban explorers, young people who like to photograph abandoned or ruined buildings, are disappearing without a trace. They are also distracted due to the disappearance of one of their own. Nobody knows much about IT expert Orac and what they discover leaves them reeling.
There were just a couple of anomalies for me in this book. Firstly Donegal is not part of Northern Ireland. Secondly it would be very unlikely that a girl with a name like Ciara O'Dwyer would be groomed from her schooldays by British Intelligence for a position as an agent. Other than that I loved the book.

Another enjoyable read from Joy Ellis! Number seven in the Jackman & Evans series, this book can be read without the others but I would recommend reading them all, and from the beginning, which is what I NOW plan to do 😉 I enjoyed this crime thriller with its short chapters and easy flow. It certainly kept me turning the pages to find out what was happening next and who was doing all the killing and why. I'd recommend this book!

Thanks to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for a copy of this book to review.
