You ever wish for a book that you read in one sitting because you can't put it down? Then this is the one for you!

Grace & Charles are on their way to St Ives for a honeymoon and a storm hits. With no trains, or other means of travel available they have to stay at an old B&B. And yes, creepiness begins!

So well written, the story jumps straight in from the first page and doesn't let up until the very end. Very well plotted, not slow (my pet hate) and it didn't feel rushed either.
I also liked how you got alternating chapters between Grace & Charles.

Atmospheric, claustrophobic and creepy. A great read for this time of year when the nights are drawing in and the weather is nasty outside.

An excellent electrifying thriller.
Charles and Grace wanted a quiet staycation honeymoon, but when their train terminates early due to a storm up ahead, they wonder if they made the wrong decision. Forced to take shelter in the nearest seaside town, Saltwater, they discover that there is only one guesthouse left. Unlike the rest of Saltwater, The Anchorage is entirely deserted. That night, with the storm howling relentlessly, Grace is woken by a child crying. She is haunted by the sound, until Charles convinces her it was only her imagination. But the next day, she finds a warning scrawled in the guest book: Leave now. Do not trust them.
It's Dark and pacy. I loved it.
Thanks to NetGalley and Vintage for giving me an advanced copy.

It should be a lovely, quiet honeymoon in England but Grace and Charles end up in seaside town, Saltwater, staying at the only available guesthouse, The Anchorage. Grace is convinced that she has heard a child crying, though there’s no one there and Charles believes it is his wife’s imagination. After all, with the weather so bad and the couple holed up in the town, it’s not hard to imagine you could be hearing things. But when Grace spots a warning hidden in the guest book, she begins to panic. Someone is telling them to leave Saltwater and although she is only too happy to do so, Charles seems somewhat charmed by the place, as it’s bringing up old memories of teenage holidays. Things get worse for Grace and she begins to wonder whether everyone she meets – new and old – has something to hide. This has a great pace and moves along swiftly, always keeping your interest.

This was a scary thriller, perfect for the winter months! The identity of the villain as well as the storyline really surprised me. A terrific read!
