Mr Right Across the Street was cute! It didn't really keep me hooked like I had hoped it would and some of the drama had me irritated because I would've handled problems differently ~but~ everyone is different so it certainly can be viewed as #relatable

This gave off the tv series "Cheers" vibes which I am always 100% down with. (Who isn't, really).

This book was about a girl named Mia who recently moved due to a ~pesky~ ex-boyfriend. Luckily for her, she moved across the street from a hunky "Hot Opposite Guy" who happened to own The Bar Beneath (yes, literally the bar beneath). Sigh, their story plants itself there and flourishes. Guess you're going to have to check out the book on it's publishing date (January 22, 2021!!) to find out what happens.

I will, however, leave you with one of their first interactions:

"What about beginning with x?"
He laughed. "Then you'd have had our Xellent martini."
"Okay, I'll take the bait. What's so excellent about it?"

The arc that I was provided with was... eh, unfortunately. The formatting was poo and there were a lot of spacing errors, which stinks because it was hard to focus on the actual story when I have to stop and think about what "heands he" means.

Yes, yes, yes! I am here for strong female characters, always! (I am flexing my arms while I say this!). Firstly, I love that Mia moved alone. I think that should be commended from the get-go. This was such a sweet story, and the cover is beautiful!

Who doesn't love a story about a strong, intelligent and unapologetically herself such as Mia? She may have been gutted at times throughout the book whether it be Freya, Luke or the other women, but she spoke her mind and got true love and happiness as a result. A true role model. Great heartwarming read.

The concept of this book was incredibly sweet, with the messages on the window... It's like a Taylor Swift song.
You're dealing with a story line here that is of just trying to make it. Whether it's a new move to a city after getting your heart broken, to keeping a newly bought bar afloat. With the help and support of friends and family around, we learn that any and every goal is possible.

Let's talk about Mia and Luke for a sec.
Mia - really shaken by her last relationship to the point she wouldn't give her phone number to Luke until a good couple months into their relationship. But then, she realizes that she forgot to delete the Ex off a big Social Media platform? Makes no sense to me.
Not only that, it seemed like she took out a lot of this on Luke. I get where she is coming from when it comes to his past and his residual behavior from it, but he's trying to prove himself and doesn't need a wall blocking his way when something comes up. Communication is the key! She is a hard drive woman though who does go after what she wants. The walls do come down and when the fog clears, her happiness radiates off the page.
Luke- I feel as though he matured and grew up A LOT in this book. He went from a man who slept with a bunch of women to fighting for the attention and love of ONE. Sure, he's had some stupid moves as well (like, really, Freya could have waited on the sink - doesn't matter what HER motives were), but you felt for him, at least I did. Also, I know technically the bunny is Grace's, but it's super cute that she lives with him.


The little non-date dates were adorable and I wish that we got a glimpse into more.
I wish we saw more of the friendship that was building with the notes, as well. That aspect of the book was so sweet, and I feel like if they built a bit better of a foundation as friends, it would have led to a lot less misunderstandings.


The plot flowed smoothly, with the chapters not dragging, there was always something happening, that, to me is great.


Overall, it was cute and I liked it, even with a few hiccups here and there. I would recommend it.

This was very sweet. Mia doesn’t trust her own instincts about men so she doesn’t want to be attracted to the sexy bartender who lives across from her. Luke might have been a player with women, but he senses something different about Mia. So he puts up notes in his window for her. It turns out that sending messages in an old-fashioned way can win the lady in this age of texting, Instagram, and Tinder.

What happens when the flat across from you gives you a view of a very attractive guy, who for some reason has started leaving you messages on his window? This fun rom com follows Mia a computer programmer with green streaks in her hair, running away from her persistent ex, and newly moved into Manchester for a new start, and a very attractive bar owner named Luke, who is known for sleeping around a lot and not looking to settle down in any relationship, that is until a green haired lady walks into his bar and now he just can’t get her out of his band. Mia is not looking to start any relationship after all the bad one’s she’s been in and Luke seems determined to win her over. Is there more to this bar owner than his good lucks and charm? Luke is going to try everything to win Mia over, even if she only wants to be friends. Thus begins a sweet love story between two people falling in love and overcoming both of their own insecurities and pasts. The story is told in both POVs, which is great! i had fun reading this and getting know Mia and Luke. They definitely make a sweet and adorable pairing!

Hi, my name is Laura and I am in love with this book.

I am of course a fan of a high-quality rom-com and Mr Right Across the Street has it in spades. If you need something to read over a rainy weekend this is the one. Fall into the world of Luke and Mia or as I started calling them when raving about this book to my friends - Bunny Man and Coding Girl.

I started this book this morning and did not move until I finished it. I am obsessed and ready to read anything that Kathryn Freeman puts out for the foreseeable.

Also, Mia kinda makes me want to mess with my hair so wish me luck. But rom-com fans everywhere give this book a go.

I was looking for a fun contemporary British romance, and I got that. Here, Mia has recently moved to Manchester for a fresh start from her disastrous dating life. Then, she notices her hunky neighbor across the street has begun to leave her notes in his window since both their spare rooms face another. He's Luke, a bar owner with his own issues but by helping to show Mia the town sights, he sees what real romance can be. Because he's just besotted. The book is told through back-and-forth dual perspectives, and the two of them have such banter down pat. Soon, they start exchanging messages through the windows, and a friendship develops. It's a cute slow-burn romance full of fun language and fun, delicious banter that I can't get enough of. Sure, this book is a bit slow to start and really get into, but it does get a lot better and cuter. I love a good nerd and cool kid romance story, and this one is just positively cute and fun. The ending is very sweet too, like giving me butterflies good.

This is the fourth book in the collection and having read and thoroughly enjoyed the first three I was excited to get my hands on this one.
As you come to expect with this author it’s very well written and thought out. You’ll definitely laugh and love the characters. Totally relatable

This book will have you swooning with the romance, whilst also screaming at the characters for their actions. Don't want to say too much as I don't want to spoil it, but the secondary characters and how they all fit together are all really interesting. There is some heat to this story so be warned, but the overall story is really sweet and romantic

Quick and cute read!
It was quite funny and I was wholly entertained.
I say this often, but I definitely prefer romances that show both of the love interests’ point of view. This one constantly went back and forth, which I appreciated.
I’m always a bit worried when the man in a romance is showed as a “player” that changes his way. But I mean, this is fictional, so anything can happen.
Mia also had a bit of the “I’m not like other girls” trope to her, but I had a good time reading this, so I looked past these things.
Perfect for those who love a good rom com!

Mia moved to Manchester to escape a relationship gone wrong. The highlight of her day in the new city is watching the guy across the street working out. When she gets the courage to go to the bar on her won, she finds out that he owns the bar and is her neighbour. It becomes clear he is a player, but can they just be friends?

Let’s face it, with more stringent Covid restrictions in place this week, we’re all looking for something a little whimsical to take our mind off things. Kathryn Freeman’s RomCom #4, ‘Mr. Right Across The Street,’ will have you laughing and reaching for the kleenex box. Due to be published January 22, 2021, this gives you enough time to read the previous 3 books in the collection. You won’t be disappointed!

Mia Abbot, the 30-year-old single computer nerd with no make-up and green highlights has just arrived to put roots down in singleton city. The move to Manchester is proving difficult, but Mia is determined to leave Somerset, and her ex-boyfriend-stalker, behind her and attempt to make some new friends. She soon settles into a routine based around the 10 o’clock Lukeshow. Her hot neighbour across the street does his workout at 10:00 and she has a front-row seat! After a few lame Friday nights on her own nursing a Horlicks, Mia notices a note stuck in his window. Her heart flips when she discovers that the hot bartender not only knows she watches him but also when she discovers he’s eager to communicate through notes posted on the window. Didn’t she move to Manchester to forget men? If she replies via note, it’ll confirm that he knows she watches him. You’ll have to read this fantastic novel to find out Mia’s next move.

This 5-star romcom had all the feels. I absolutely love how Mia has names for all her neighbours; Immaculate Woman, Mr. Snog A lot, Mr. Muscles, Hot Guy and Chipmunk. I, too, live in a condo and have names for my neighbours. Sadly, no 10:00 Lukeshows here! Having not read any of Freeman’s previous novels, I enjoyed her sense of humour and a well-paced plot. Her characters stole the show. I do hope to read more about The Bar Beneath and the lovable, yet grumpy, 67-year-old neighbour, Stan. For those looking for a great feel-good romance with a side of giggles, this is the book you need. Freeman writes to entertain while she subtly hits on the most basic of human needs – the need to feel loved and accepted by others.
