Really enjoyed this book and it kept my interest throughout, although I thought the main character made some very questionable choices that meant I had to suspend disbelief

This book is brilliant, full of tension and suspense! I couldn't wait to finish the book and see how everything ends.

It took me a little while to get into this one but it really picks up after a bit of a slow start. I was fascinated by Della's true premise and had to keep reading.

After a slow moving start that nearly caused me to give up, the second half of this novel had a change in pace and a turn in the plot that kept me reading. If I'm honest the plot has something of the soap opera about it, the final twist putting it in the realm of the unbelievable. But it is entertainingly ridiculous. Never has a character made as many bad choices as Kate who seems to lack even the most basic common sense. The section at the farmhouse builds some nice tension, though the predictability of Della's motivations and Kate's reactions lessen it somewhat. It is still interesting to see how easily it is to isolate a person, physically and emotionally, and deprive them of power and agency. The final twist I felt was unnecessary and added little as the author didn't see it through to any satisfying resolution and I was left feeling like the bad guys won.

Unfortunately this book was not for me, it was a bit slower than I would like and it just didn't hold my attention. I am sure other people will love it!

This story was not at all what I expected it to be but it was brilliant. The way the story was told where the reader understands what is going to happen ahead of the main character makes it all the more thrilling and sad.

I did not expect the last part of the book at all.

I would definitely recommend this book and author.

This book had me hooked. The plot was deep, lots of twists and turns and was a well paced psychological thriller. I wanted the story to turn out so perfectly, but life is never perfect is it.
Great book, will recommend. Perfect holiday reading.

This was a good book with a good few twists and turns along way, the story is about Kate who has moved to London to get away from unhappy memories of her sister that went missing years ago. She meets Della and becomes sucked into her life but things take an unexpected turn and Kate's life starts to unravel, great book with a good ending that ties everything up nicely.

Thank you to NetGalley, Harper Collins and Charlotte Northedge for an ARC in return for an honest review.

This is a classic psychological thriller, it is tense and dripping. I found some of the sort predictable but was unable to guess the ending. I did want to give Kate a good shake half way through. This is the first book by Charlotte Northedge that I have read and I really enjoyed it.

This story is your classic page-turner thriller novel, following Kate, a young, troubled woman who has recently moved to London in search of her sister. In London, she meets Della, a strikingly charismatic woman who takes her under her wing and invites her to cult like meetings at her bougie af town house with a bunch of other young women. This is a dark, psychological thriller and if you’re after some easy reading which equally leaves you feeling unsettled, this is a great pick. i can see it being a great book to take on holiday with you as a bit of escapism. Kate was clueless to a serious fault and towards the end of the novel I wanted to actually grab her by the shoulders and shake her because hun HOW can you be so clueless, but equally that cluelessness served the novel well, and as a reader I couldn’t look away as Kate made mistake after mistake. I recommend this to fans of The Silent Patient!

Thank you to Harper Fiction for this gifted copy

I really enjoyed this debut novel!

I felt really sorry for Kate who has moved to London to try and track down her missing sister and just seemed so lost and vulnerable. It was obvious that Della was not all she seemed to be and I felt like reaching into the book and shaking Kate at times!

Kate has long lived in the shadow of her elder sister’s disappearance. Even when she leaves the family home in Cambridge for a new life in London, finding her sister is still priority.

Then she meets Della and is invited to take part in life coaching sessions. Della seems to have it all and Kate is soon under the spell. Are things as they seem though?

When I first started reading, I wanted to reach into the page and give Kate a big hug. She’s so lost.

I really don’t want to give much away when it comes to the plot of this novel as I am hoping it’s one you’ll discover for yourself.

This was a thriller that immediately drew me in. How it starts and then proceeds had me intrigued and desperate to know what was happening and how it fitted together.

It was obvious to me that certain characters and situations were not as they seemed and, like Kate, I didn’t know who to trust. I also questioned whether things were too good to be true.

Unexpected twists and turns throughout had me reading well past my bedtime.

Giving the reader enough to want to read on but having them constantly questioning events and motives are two of the elements I believe make a good psychological thriller and Charlotte Northedge manages to do this so well. I couldn’t predict how it was going to end.

This was a great debut novel and I look forward to seeing what Charlotte Northedge does next. I really hope that this is a book you add to your TBR pile.

Thank you to Charlotte and HarperCollins for the review copy and a chance to be part of the tour.

Kate has moved to London from Cambridge to look for her missing sister after years of not knowing where she is. Following a seemingly random meeting with Della a well-known life coach, she is invited to France to be a nanny to Della’s two young children during the summer holidays.

What follows next leaves Kate trapped in a life that she cannot escape and the ends she goes to get away but not without suffering from deep traumas.

This novel had a creepy feel with Della the charismatic life coach, who on the flip side appears to have a very dark and sinister side to her. Kates plight is felt by the reader and the extremes she goes to are intense.

When Kate moves to London to try and find her missing sister she meets a life coach and joins a support group. You are left to wonder if everything is how is seems and what secrets are lurking below the surface. Is Kate safe and will she find her sister?
A thriller with a mystery behind the members of the support group.
