I enjoyed this book. Very intriguing and a good plot. Well written and quite easy to follow. Would recommend.

I looked forward to reading this book but by the end I couldn’t wait for it to finish.

I don’t like not finishing books so try to persevere especially when it may go on to surprise you.

This is about a woman who strugggles to sleep at night, which I do so this was appealing to me.

She goes on a trial to assess the sleep patterns, cycles etc which of course ends up going wrong. Completely wrong.

It’s not what I expected it to be and tbh I pushed myself to get through it.

Maybe not one to listen to at night if you’re the sensitive type like me but what a hauntingly addictive book.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me access an advance copy of this audiobook in exchange for my feedback.

Thea MacKenzie suffers from insomnia, she comes across an ad for a sleep trial that promises to change her life - the ad just pops up on her phone and she decides to enroll, take the plunge - she gets approved and what follows after that is a roller coaster ride - this book was fast paced, a bit confusing in some places but overall comes together towards the end.

This is a good book, which I found really interesting. A woman called Thea is an insomniac and she tries to get help with her sleep by going to a company called Morpheus who are based on an island. While she is there, she takes part in a sleep trial with other people who have the same problem as her. After a while, strange things start happening at the facility and Thea is in danger. What do Morpheus have in store for their clients? This is a fast paced thriller which will have your heart pounding. Great read!

Many thanks to the author, publisher and Net Galley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

An enjoyable listen with good narration. The story starts well and had me hooked though after the halfway mark it became slightly less believable. An interesting read nonetheless.

Louise Mumford’s debut book is a thriller as such but didn't have me on the edge of my seat
The main character Thea is a serial insomniac persuaded by seemingly subliminal advertising to attend a residential course that offers an app to cure her problem.
The thriller elements come to fruition as Thea arrives for her course and the island locale provides almost a text book weirdo and also a text book love interest
Not wishing to provide spoilers but as we follow Thea and a few fellow travellers through an increasingly frenetic series of escapades
Are the island owners a cult? or something more sinister you need to read the book to find out

This was the first audio book I have tried from netgalley. I really enjoyed it. The narration was good and I enjoyed the story telling. It was the first I have read from this author.

Many thanks to netgalley and Louise Mumford for the advanced copy of this book. I agreed to give my unbiased opinion voluntarily.

What we could achieve if we didn't have to sleep but that is not how people see it, everyone wants their seven hours so if you can't sleep you would try anything, but is that price to high to pay?
It is edge of the seat stuff what looks like being an ordinary medical facility hide many dark secrets that need to be buried deep...............what if they surface who will pay???? reading this will make you sleepless as you just have to find out what happens next.

This was such a thrilling read- a bit of 'Lost' mixed with 'Black Mirror.'

Thea has always had trouble sleeping- when most people are about to wake, she finally falls asleep. She has no romantic life, no social life, no life at all and she is desperate to try anything so when an ad pops up with a new way to achieve sleep, she tries it. She ends up on an island with a bunch of people who also have sleep issues but all isn't what it seems. A creepy monastery, some sketchy characters and unusual behaviour keep this book fast paced and addictive. There were lots of twists and turns and I instantly loved the characters.

Thea can't sleep, ever. She's utterly exhausted. Then she hears about an experimental sleep trial that could change her life...

I went through phases with this book, from loving it, to not knowing where it was aiming to go, to feeling like I struggling through it. Ultimately, I feel like when everything had clicked into place I actually really enjoyed it.

Having finished the audiobook I realise that it was the narrator that I struggled with, had I read the novel myself I dont believe there would have been an issue, as I enjoyed the characters and the storyline.

I would recommend this book to others, but I would probably not recommend the audiobook.

A pretty interesting and different thriller from what I've recently read. Though a bit quirky, our main character, Thea who is an insomniac soon finds herself in hot water when she decides to go for sleep therapy after not sleeping for more than three hours a night for years.

As someone who also struggles with sleeping, I can relate to how rubbish that must be, so when the idea of a sleep centre trial comes up, she just jumps for it. Who wouldnt? But with so many red flags on this thing, a desperate person wouldn't be looking at the bigger picture, just the means to an end, so when Thea opts for the treatment in order to get a transformed night in hope of a cure, she is perhaps surprised when things don't actually turn out the way she had hoped.

Sleepless is then crafted together quite well, up until Thea gets to the sleep centre's trial is just a big part of the plotting and filler because the book doesn't really start on the sci-fi thriller genre it actually is until this point.

The book itself has good writing, good intrigue, keeps the reader entertained and though for the best part of the book, it's a sci-fi thriller, it seems to almost change half way through into a dystopian almost horror genre, but that doesn't necessarily bother me. I think that the book is also well paced which is a big thumbs up because a lot of books when they get to that "fleshy" bit get really fast paced and the good writing and plot almost goes out the window but I didn't get that with this, it brought the book to a nice steady finish, the character keeps you going all the way through even though the book is pulling in different directions.

Really enjoyed but I really don't want to give too much away!

With thanks to Netgalley, publishers and author #Louisemumford for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Definite recommend!

Unfortunately this book wasn’t for me. I found it very confusing and long and didn’t enjoy. (That could have been because it was an audiobook or could just be that this theme of book was not for me). However I do believe that most people would enjoy it and it was just me.

The book follows Thea who is an insomniac. Then a sleep trial pops up on her phone and she decides to give it a go. The trial takes place on an island and from early questionable things start taking place.

The premise really intrigued me but once it got into it, I felt like too many characters were coming in and out of the story and the plot was changing before fully developing. Like I said though, this is my personal view and highly recommend people try this for themselves before taking my review into account.

Thank you for the opportunity to read this book and I would be interested in future work by this author.

This is one of the first real thriller novels I have listened to instead of reading. It is certainly a different experience. When reading I tend to race through the tense bits, wanting to know how the heros get out of the scrapes they get into. When listening, you have to go at the same pace as usual, hearing the narrator speak out the whole scene! There are benifits of both ways to experince a story. I listened to this whilst doing tasks so it was rather thrilling but if I'd just been listening in my chair or bed, I would probaly have become frustrated with the pace.
The story is imaginative and intriguing but somehow missing something in the end result. I can't put a finger on what but I was left wanting just a little more explanation and conclusion.

This book wasn’t for me. The blurb sounded promising and it started quite well but then the plot went off in a different direction and became quite confusing. I didn’t like the contrived writing style, full of cliche metaphors and the characters had no depths. I listened to this on audio and kept loosing interest as narration wasn’t particularly engaging either.

This started off really well if a little to descriptive at times but it really had my attention as it’s an interesting concept and I was interested to see how it was going to play out. Once into the heart of the storyline it really slowed pace and was a little drawn out. I found myself urging it to speed up and get going but it just took to long to get there. I really liked the narrators calming voice but unfortunately the storyline didn’t live up to the blurb.

Thanks to Netgalley and Harper Collins UK Audio for the opportunity to listen to and review this ARC that was published on the 10th of Dec.

The narrator was 5 stars

The book 2 stars
I really enjoyed the first 30% of this book. It really caught my attention.
And then..... It just got wierd, annoying and dull. I don't mean to be harsh but that's honestly how I felt
