We may be facing aftershocks as we get closer to ‘the end’. My rating 4.5 of 50.

This title by Kinley is right up to date. He makes interesting points, supported by biblical scripture, noting that events are happening that leave aftershocks but that show we are not at the end - yet. Kinley addresses the past few years of political and societal trends, and particularly the year of lockdown due to Covid, and analyzes them in light of end time prophecies. He reveals the trend toward globalism and discusses the yet to come global world order. Kinley recognizes that the spirit of “global citizen” is gaining momentum while nationalism and patriotism are being frowned upon, demeaned ... or worse.

There is a chapter on Signs setting out Seven solid principles for deciphering biblical signs. In another chapter, Growing Apostasy, Kinley describes the subtle and covert attacks on scripture. He notes that we are living in a “society immersed in idolatry, sexual immorality, homosexuality, violence, slander , hatred of God, destruction of the family, unreasonable and unsupportable belief systems, unloving relationships, unforgiving hearts, and the unashamed public celebration of all manner of deviant sin.” (Location 1490.)

Kinley tells ‘Aftershock’ Christians that we have a “threefold mandate”: pray for the peace of Jerusalem; bless Israel (“support her survival and defense”); and make disciples of Jesus, from among Jews as well as other non-believers. He tells us we are living in the times of the signs and shares what changes he thinks Christians will face in the near future. The descriptions might be frightening to some, but not to those who know the end and know who is in control!

I appreciate how Kinley is willing to dismiss prophecies that are not consistent with scripture and encourages readers to exercise discernment. Christians may not want to see things progress as they appear to be, but we need to understand how the world will change to fulfill the end times as revealed by scripture. This book helps us to understand the aftershocks of historical events and prepare for the changes to come. I recommend this to any person who seeks more information on the progress toward end times.

The author was very informative and I liked the descriptions.
I love reading about the end times. For some reason they fascinate me. I know I won't be here when things do happen because I will be with Jesus. Yay! I can't wait for that time!
Daniel and Revelations are my favorite books in the Bible. I love how they coincide together.
This is a great way to learn what is going to happen in the future. You need to be ready for the Lord's coming. It will happen quickly. We know not the time, hour, or day. Not even the angels know.
I'm going to add to my list of keepers. This would also be a great devotional for Sunday or Sabbath school classes.
I highly recommend
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review and all opinions are my own.

With a 2021 copyright, Aftershocks is very pertinent to today, but will remain so for some time to come. While the book examines current events, it is focused on a time in the future, a date not yet known but to One, the day of the Lord's return. Kinley examines topics such as globalism, technology, and our economy in the light of biblical prophesy. He does not claim to read the signs, but rather examines the Scriptures and points out what things in our current society make certain prophesies possible in a way that didn't exist before while acknowledging that God is supernaturally able to accomplish His Word at any time. While it did take me a few chapters to get into the book, it wasn't long before I was telling my husband that this is one that we need to read together. I look forward to reading it with him, taking time to look up each Scriptural reference and examine them more fully alongside Kinley's thoughts. Quoting Revelation 22:18-19, it is obvious that Kinley takes very seriously the admonition there for anyone who adds prophecy to God's Word. Aftershocks is written with insight and caution. I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of the book from Harvest House Publishers via NetGalley without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own.

In Aftershocks, author Jeff Kinley considers current events in the context of end times prophecies. He presents today's headlines through a Biblical lens, offering both clarity and comfort to the believer who wants to remain informed and "keep the lamp lit".

Relevant topics include globalism, economic collapse, and the rise of Israel.

I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading it again.

Aftershock
Written by Jeff Kinley

I was given a copy of this book for review purposes.

Mr. Kinley has written a very informative and wonderful book. The book is laid out in the “Who, What, When, and Why” format. Each section of the book is related to a bible verse or statement. Mr. Kinley explains each section using the who what when and where format. He has also included reference links in the bible to show and explain the subject in that chapter.

The book was easy to read and did explain in detail the End Times from Daniel and Revelation. Mr. Kinley states what the bible as written, and the aftershock of the completed scripture on humanity.

This book was very informative and explains in detail the End Times and what to expect on the results of God’s judgment. I suggest that new people to the bible read this book to have a better understanding.

The story starts out by describing the 9.2 earthquake in Valdez, Alaska in 1964 that was the most powerful earthquake in U.S. history.
On the day of the earthquake 11 aftershocks with a magnitude of 6.0 happened, along with smaller aftershocks that lasted for more than a year.
This book does not give you information about aftershocks that occur after earthquakes, but it does discuss the changes that will occur because recent global events in our moral, geopolitical and economic spheres that produce aftershocks in all of our lives.
Our present day is described, the COVID 19 virus, the rioting, lawlessness, lockdowns, job loss and economic breakdown is detailed, but then Biblical passages are explored that discuss disobedience to parents, lovers of self, money, ungratefulness, without self- control, haters of good, and holding to a form of godliness (2 Timothy 3:1-5,13) a description of the Last Days.

As believers, Jesus has called us to "make disciples", which will alter a person's eternal destiny, we are not called to proclaim peace, reconciliation or justice.
To do this, believers must ask ourselves if Jesus is in the center of my life and reigning over self?
We should be sharing the Gospel with those God brings us into contact with and not shrinking back in cowardice and fear, by realizing that the gates of death and hell will not prevail against us. (Matthew 16:18)

You will have to read the book for yourself to find out about "the global reset", banning nationalism and making all people "citizens of the world".
