Unfortunately, I have not been able to access this book, although I was looking forward to reading this and learning some new recipes from Hugh.

There are some nice recipes in here but sadly many ingredients are not available if you live outside of a big city and/or don't have space to try to 'grow your own'. The information on healthy eating is pretty basic, this doesn't mean it is ineffective or untrue only to say that it is available for free from reliable health provider websites or your GP. Was a bit disappointed.

I found this book a great balance of information and recipes, with explanations of why certain foods are used spread throughout the book. The pictures are really enticing and I got lots of inspiration for my cooking.

Some good advice and plenty of healthy recipes in this book. Would recommend.

Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review.

Well written book with advice for a healthy life style and plenty of recipes to work through. Some of the advice I knew as I like this type of information but its great to have a sensible review of it all in logical chapters and format.
I did like the recipes and have tried a few, I need to keep picking the book up for a subtle kick to myself and healthy recipe inspiration.
Thanks for NetGalley and the publisher for a chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Excellent book.

Begins with chapters describing healthy eating which we have heard before but it is summarised very well.

I will be trying out some of the lovely recipes when I buy a copy of the book. It was a bit difficult to read the proof on my phone screen as it was not in kindle format.

Lots of interesting ideas on how to take care of ourselves and the planet through how we eat and nurture ourselves. Some of the recipes are probably a bit extreme for most people’s everyday lives but even by making smaller changes we can start to make a difference.

’ve always enjoyed watching Hugh on the television. He is passionate, articulate and incredibly knowledgable. He has this wonderful ability to convey information simply and without fuss. The way he writes is pretty much how he comes across on the tv and for me this created a very enjoyable and inspiring book. He has of course worked hard to create the life he is living now, yet he does inspire us to try and convert all the goodness of his own to ours.

The thing I liked most was his common sense approach to better living. You may have heard some or all of what he has to say before but he has a way of making it seem less daunting. He comes across as a friend offering friendly, knowledgable advice rather than condescending and judgmental. The book is thoughtfully presented and has beautiful photography throughout. As well as tried and tested advice, Hugh has included recipes that look delicious and are very ‘doable’. This is not a ‘diet’ book but simply a book to inspire us to live our best lives yet in a way that is good for us and the environment. I received my review copy through Netgalley but this is definitely a book that I would like to add to my bookshelves.

Thank you so much to Bloomsbury and the lovely team at Netgalley for granting my wish to read Eat Better Forever.

An interesting read and some good recipes. I don't feel that there was anything that I didn't already know but the book is well presented and split into relevant sections..

I found this book interesting and informative. Some ideas are just common sense but it was good to look at them from a different angle. The recipes look tasty with the added bonus of being healthy.
Thanks to Netgalley for the early e book copy.

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's book tries to be a one-stop shop for healthy eating and it does a good job. The beginning shows us how to make healthier options by explaining the benefits of whole foods and their nutritional values, good fats over bad and the effects of carbs and sugars. We then get a section on how to lose and maintain weight loss. The second half of the book is a collection of 100 healthy recipes for salads, soups, breakfasts and main meals, amongst a couple of others.
There is a lot in its 400 pages but Fearnley-Whittingstall manages to do a good job of conveying a healthier lifestyle as well as throwing in some recipes for good measure.
Well recommended.

Lots of good advice and information about what we should be eating broken down into chapters to improve our health and wellbeing. I felt though, that if you are interested in living a healthy lifestyle there is nothing particularly new here and it is generally about using common sense in the way you shop and cook food. Hugh has long been an advocate of promoting good healthy food and mainly rejecting fast food. He puts his views across in a very accessible way and I particularly like the links on Kindle to lead you directly to the recipes which are useful and varied. Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC.

I haven’t read a cook book all the way through for a long time, however this one so much useful information in it that I just raced through it.

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall examines healthy lifestyle choices that anyone can make to improve their diet. There are 7 changes in the book but Hugh claims that even by changing a few we can make a big difference to our health.

I found this super interesting as I don’t have the healthiest lifestyle. I work shifts and have 2 young children so struggle to plan and cook healthy meals all the time. The ideas in the book have really made me think about the choices I’m making and how we can be healthier.

There are also some fantastic recipes, especially the lunchtime selection! And the food photography is beautiful.

Eat Better Forever looks at the nutrition in food and the first half of the book looks at changing your diet to be less processed and the second half are recipes you can use.

The first half of the book starts with 7 chapters devoted to changing your eating habits:
- going whole-wheat
- varied diet
- gut health
- understanding fats
- reducing refined carbs
- understanding sugar laidened drinks and alcohol
- portion sizes and mindful eating

Plus there are two more chapters on 7 ways to lose weight and keeping well to eat better. Included is a 7 day meal plan along with ideas for exercise, de-stressing and sleep.

The second half of the book contains whole, high-fibre recipes:
- breakfasts
- lunches
- salads
- soups
- veg mains
- fish
- meat
- treats and drinks

There are lots of vegetarian dishes in the lunches, salads, soups and the meat and fish ones are packed with vegetables too. Each recipe comes with a full colour photograph, ingredients in metric measurements and the instructions are clear to follow.

There is certainly a lot to take in reading this book, it's something I should try to do, though many of the recipes are nut rich and we have allergies in our house so they would not be any good for us. However for those wishing to overhaul their diets and eat more whole grains and less processed then this would be an excellent book for you.

I received this book from Netgalley in return for a honest review.

A nice book with some decent recipes in. Think I prefer a real book cooey rather than a digital one but that's my preference.

A great book to dip in and out of, definitely some great food for thought. Lots of recipes that I look forward to trying.

Eat better forever was food for thought in more ways than one for me. If you need encouragement to eat better Hugh provides some great ideas, information and recipes to help us improve our health. I really liked how he shares how the changes have affected his health and the fact that you can pick and mix and gradually change things for the better. The book includes some really tasty recipes that make improving your diet even more attractive.

Whilst this is all very laudable, by the time I reached the recipe section I found that there were very few which I would actually consider making. This is a thought provoking book but I can't see many people following Hugh's regime.
