Yet another excellent Tony McLean novel from James Oswald. The initial crime is horrifying, and there are references and links to Scotland's witch finding, hunting past, which has relevance to the actions and events in the novel.

Again, the book is well written, engaging, holds one's attention, and is definitely a must read. The main characters are all believable, if not always likeable.

With thanks to Wildfire and NetGalley for an ARC.

I've been reading this series during lockdown so it was nice to be able to finish off the year with the 11th book- thank you for granting me my wish.

I enjoyed What Will Burn as much as the rest of them. Tony McLean's still going strong.

I must say I started reading this as soon as I got it as I am a big fan of this series. McLean is a good character (as are his friends) although the stories can be odd and dark at times. This book didn't disappoint - kept me guessing to the end. A really well told story that pulls you in. Thank you for the ARC

I was lucky enough to win a preview copy of this book. Having read this series from the start, I am happy to report that these stories and characters are alive and well and are as vibrant as ever. This time there are more new characters introduced but the strong historic characters remain and are as real, vivid and loveable as ever & welcome as ever..

The story slowly starts to unwind and drags you into the abyss & for me it is really nice to see the supernatural undertones ripple underneath the surface, which I really love. These undertones are part of the formula which makes this series stand out and for me they are a very subtle but intriguing component.
The plot is as strong as ever and entertains throughout, the only slight disappointment was the ending, which was incredibly similar to a previous book within the series. That said, I absolutely devoured this book and already can't wait for the next one. Yes, I know how greedy I am.

Another brilliant book from James Oswald in the Tony McLean series. I have read all of this series and it never fails to entertain and sometimes make me gasp. James blends characters from this and the Con Fairchild series very cleverly. The characters are believable even with the supernatural theme that runs through the story. James manages to depict evil without being gratuitous. Thanks to Netgalley for the chance to review. Great book
