Once again, a scintillating read from Joss Wood! I always love how I will land in and feel Africa through her books, and this one did not disappoint. The plot was a little over the top, and I know it continues somewhat in the next book, but gosh, suspension of disbelief checked and you're right there for the ride. Great escapist fiction, so much packed in just 2-3 hours of reading

How To Undo The Proud Billionaire by Joss Wood is published by M&B Modern. Radd Tempest-Vane is struggling to rebuild his family’s financial empire. He will be able to recoup a huge chunk if he can pull off a high profile wedding at his exclusive Safari lodge. All he needs to do is find a florist. Brinley Riddell comes to his rescue. She this as an opportunity to show her family that she is not second best or useless as they have always perceived her. Sparks fly between Brin and Radd. Could it all come crumbling down when secrets are revealed?
This is the first novel in the South Africa’s Scandalous Billionaires trilogy. To be honest I struggled to get through it. The first third was okay but as secrets were exposed it just became a struggle to read. Brin failed to tell Radd that her sister had been a rival to the bride for the groom’s affections, for example, as she doesn’t want to lose her job. The imagery of the reserve was enjoyable and detailed.

I really enjoyed this story of the man who was trying to rebuild his family empire that had been lost through his parents, and the florist trying to make enough money to escape the clutches of her grasping family. Certainly an engaging story, very well written and full of interest. I really enjoyed it.

Radd is a billionaire but is still trying to pull himself out of the mess his parents left behind when they died, Now he has the last piece of the puzzle in his sights - The family mine and all that stands between him and regaining the mine is a society wedding which is part of the deal that he has agreed to host at his reserve, Radd will do anything to ensure that the wedding goes smoothly, so when the florist lets him down he brings in Brin to help save the day, But Brin has history with the groom who was her sister's ex so she sets out to keep it from Radd to ensure that she doesn't lose the job.
Radd quickly finds himself falling for Brin, but can he be the man she truly wants who will always have her back no matter what.

I enjoyed this book, however I hated the ending. It is usual in books to have some background characters that you want to find out more about which are usually picked up in a follow on book, but this story had major plot points left hanging which I didn't like.

This is an atmospheric story, full of vibrant sensory imagery that immerses the reader in the setting. The story follows one man's quest to rebuild his family's legacy and a woman's need to distance herself from her grasping family.

Both characters, are strong and have trust issues, which mean love and romance are not on their life list. A powerful and instantaneous attraction upsets their carefully laid plans and makes for a heated and passionate love affair. Brin has a secret which threatens their new understanding and is the major conflict in this story.

A love that is as decadent, deadly and desirable as the story' setting is the perfect escapist read.

I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

A secretly arranged wedding, a last minute floristry job that pays mega money, is how these two private people make a deep connection.

In the beautiful, wild vista setting, that they both appreciate, they fall in love.

With a happy ever after ending in this romantic story of love, commitment and happiness.

There were a lot of names given in the first few pages of the book and I thought I would get confused, but the story soon settles in and you get drawn in to the plot.
There are two strong characters in the book and the female lead is appealing and the author gets you onside quickly. The plot moves quite quickly and still manages to fill in the background of the main characters bit by bit. The background is important to the unravelling of the story but the author discloses it as the narrative develops and this kept my interest reading.
The description of the nature and land around the hotel resort was lushly described and got me looking up the area online to see photos of what it is like in reality - stunning!
The two main characters are plausible and whilst the ending is never in doubt the reunion is well described and the heartfelt words of the male lead Radd are lovely to end with.

I received an ARC from Netgalley and Mills and Boon in return for an honest review.

I've read a few of Joss Wood's books and enjoyed them all, but this one had me fuming and rolling my eyes on several occasions. I don't know whether some of the issues raised in the book are going to be addressed in the brother's book, but I don't like being left with unanswered questions. Who's the secret beneficiary/trustee? Will the awful Radebe family get their comeuppance? Will Ivy's Mum and sister be made to see how awful their behaviour is? Anyway, back to this book.

Firstly the names - Radd and Brinley? My apologies to the author, but seriously they made me think about a comic duo or a supermarket chain. I found it really difficult to stop shaking my head every time I saw these names in print.

Brin was perfectly okay to start with and I liked her energy and commitment and feistiness until she decided to keep secret the fact that her sister and the bride were rivals. There was absolutely no logical reason for her to do so, and in fact, it would have helped Radd to manage the situation if he had known in advance. Whatever reason Brin had, became even less tenable as the story progressed. Every time she had the chance to tell Radd and lied through her teeth, I just rolled my eyes in disbelief. When the plane was delayed and she said she'd only stay if Radd didn't give her name, even he thought it was an odd way of publicising her business. It truly was stupid!

This was clearly being built up for the big reveal which would halt their relationship in its tracks. If it had been signalled any more - there would have been neon lights flashing on my iPad.

Initially, I thought Radd was going to turn out to be a proper Alpha male with decency and honour, but his crawling to the Radebe family just stuck in my throat. I couldn't believe he would be so frightened of the man backing down on the sale of the mine if he didn't crawl to him.

The scene when he didn't defend Mara, but Brin did was bad enough; but then when Brin was attacked by the Bride from hell and he simply allowed her to carry on and then he asked Brin for her phone? Sorry, he just went right to the bottom of the heap in my opinion. What a rat, what a coward - what an excuse for a man.
The final showdown with Radebe didn't go far enough and I really was desperate to see the daughter get a suitable showing-up or punishment for her vileness.

Although I disliked the hero and heroine for different reasons, I must compliment the writer in engaging my interest so well that I still read the book from start to finish and actually enjoyed it. It's well written, as I'd expect from this author but I felt there were serious plot-holes in it. three stars
