Very sweet! This is a lovely, warm, light, escapist read - with likeable characters and fabulous band of furry friends! Great for the beach.

This was a beautiful and restorative tale of Daisy coming back to life. She comes to stay with her friend, Poppy, after she is mortified by an encounter with a married customer, Scott.

She is very naive about what she is coming into and how long she will be in France, but seems to just want to jump to anywhere else other than the hotel that she was working in.

She gets stuck into the work at the guesthouse with JoJo and Poppy very quickly, taking care of a pack of dogs that live there, and leaving the owners space to breathe.. before meeting Anton, and taking on his dogs. who also helps her both settle into the area, trust herself and fall in love again... with her area and herself...

I found that this book showed the restorative power of stepping away from the real world, to friendship, and to the love of dogs.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Daisy travels to France to visit Poppy. While their she hopes to forget about her ex boyfriend while helping her friend. I liked this book.

Daisy is having an unlucky time in England and asks to go to stay with her friend Poppy in France – she will help out in her guesthouse in return for board and lodging. The first chapter of the book is all her emails to Poppy, her unconventional gran, currently staying on an ashram, and her colleague at the hotel she settled for working at. Off she goes, along with her special talent, which allows her to feel the emotions and previous owners of inanimate objects – an interesting addition to a romance-in-another-country genre book.

Of course Daisy isn’t keen on getting into any more romantic situations and of course she immediately hits it off with a sexy widower, but she must play it slow and not upset him. Their relationship is portrayed nicely and his job as a document appraiser and hobby studying the history of the area – well-researched by the author – give opportunities for plot and more meatiness to the book.

Looking at other reviews, people seemed to take exception either to the number of dogs in the book or the very spicy and long sex scenes. The dogs were fine – sets of them belonged to different people, there were some excellent chihuahuas and nothing apart from some mild peril happened to them (there is some back story about rescue from abusive backgrounds that might be upsetting in the other books in the series). The sex scenes were a bit much for me, but obviously some people enjoy this aspect, and it was sex-positive with a confident woman with no hang-ups about her body or appearance, which was refreshing.

A nice summer read with some interesting added extra themes, but you would probably want to read the others in the series.

I’d read some positive reviews on this but maybe I should have read the previous books? Or maybe it’s just not my genre. I didn’t really enjoy it and I didn’t finish it. It is well written though. So thanks for giving me the opportunity.

Daisy flees to France to stay and help her friend Poppy and to recover from a relationship gone wrong. She is hoping to start a new life there running a dog walking business, as part of which she meets a widower and his two rescue dogs. There is mutual attraction, but he is still recovering from the death of his wife.
I have loved the books in this series and this one is no exception. The French countryside sounds gorgeous, with a pace of life that I could easily become accustomed to. It maybe over romanticised, but that is the idea of this type of book. Along with the normal multitude of dogs we have the characters from the previous books, plus a hint of the supernatural that had played an integral part of Daisy's life, for good and bad. Again there are some spicy scenes, so maybe not for those who don't enjoy these, but otherwise a book that I can definitely recommend for those who need some escapism in their lives.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book.

Firstly, I loved the small town/ countryside setting in France. There was a small amount of characters (if you don’t count the dogs) so there wasn’t too many people to remember. I really enjoyed Daisy and her friends, who I think had been in previous books in this series. This was my first though but it was easy enough to figure out who was who.

The sex scenes are incredibly steamy however, I found them to be a bit repetitive in a way. Not so much in what happens during the scenes but words used etc. They also felt a bit drawn out at times with other stuff going on at the same time, like thoughts Daisy was having.

Daisy and Anton made a great couple and I loved that there was a lot more to both of them than the romance part of the book. The mythology from Anton and Daisy’s special gift were great additions

I usually enjoy this kind of light comedy romance set in a foreign country, but there are just too many dogs in this one! I don't think that I'll bother with any of the other books in the series. The book paints life in France in a very rosy light but the reality is that it can be much more of a struggle in rural areas, especially post-Brexit and post-pandemic. OK.

Thanks to Net Galley and the publishers for the opportunity to review this book.

Daisy's French Farmhouse by Lorraine Wilson was an enjoyable read. The characters were fun and showed the true ups and downs in life and allowed the reader to follow their decisions which affect many things for their future. But let's be honest, the dogs stole the book for me. Their antics were hilarious! A great realistic story with a pleasant ending!

Lovely book. A great Summer holiday read. A perfect escape into a life that many of us dream about. Really enjoyed it.

(I believe this book is part of a series so I'm unsure if I needed to read the previous books.) If you are a doggy fan, then this book will definitely be for you. We follow Daisy who moves to France to stay with friends whilst she reassess her life. Whilst there to earn some money she sets up a dog walking business. There quite a bit of spicy language when Daisy hits it off with Anton, the dishy French dog owner.

A pleasant enough novel that was a lighthearted read but I can’t say it overly grabbed me. I enjoyed the dog antics and the setting but found the chapters to be overly long. Thank you to NetGalley, One More Chapter and the author for the chance to review.

This was a cute story filled with hisses full of entertaining animals! I love dogs and fell in love with each of them. Daisy escapes to France after an embarrassing romantic blunder. She too loves dogs and takes on handsome widower Anton’s crew of sweet pups as Clients. While Nether of them are ready for a relationship things are obviously sizzling between them.
This book has a bit too much graphic love scenes in it for me to give it more stars. Other than that I really enjoyed it!

Dogs! Daisy has fled to her friend Poppy's guesthouse in France after an, ahem incident. She's not expecting much except the chance to sit and be calm but then she meets Anton, a handsome and somewhat enigmatic bookseller with, wait for it, dogs. This is trope-y as can be, with some steam tossed in, but it's still entertaining. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A fast cheery read for a rainy day.

This book is a series but can be read as a stand alone book. Lots of dogs, nicely set in France, a little too spicy and too long sex scenes for me but will suit others. Thank you netgalley for the advanced copy

This was a cute, quick, and cozy book to curl up with before bed. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and would recommend it to others!

Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Collins UK/One More Chapter for the opportunity to read this ARC. I didn’t realise that this was part of a series but you don’t need to have read the previous books as the backstory of the characters is well written. Daisy is looking to get away and possibly make a fresh start after an incident involving a male guest at the hotel where she works. She goes to stay with her friend Poopy in France and vows to stay away from men. However she soon starts looking after the gorgeous bookseller and widower Anton’s dogs and there is a definite spark between them. A delightful book that was easy to read. Great characters but the ones I liked the best were the assortment of dogs and their brilliant personalities. A lovely romantic read.

I was gifted this book. I saw that it was the fourth in the series, so I looked into the other books in the series, before starting and saw that book 2 was a novella and it was actually free on Amazon! So, I decided I would read the novella first, in case, I needed a little background. What I discovered was book 4 can be read independently, and not reading the other books in the series did not affect my enjoyment or understanding of book 4. The novella was a nice story and gave me a background of the area that the story takes place in and introduced me to the secondary characters of book 4.

This book was definitely a page turner for me! It is what I consider a light romance, no heavy drama, but it was full of substance. The meant-to-be couple definitely were meant to be and as a reader I saw that immediately since the main female character has a special quality that showed the special connection. In truth, her special quality is what made the book so enjoyable to me.

I love a book that has a little magical or mystical quality and that is what really made me love this story. It was very interesting to see how she handles her special gift, and how others react to it. It is woven into the story so well that the story would not have been able to flow like it did if this quality not existed. This book, and the book 2 (novella), are the first works that I have read by this author. She has created wonderful, fully developed, flawed characters that definitely went straight to my heart, and an interesting plot.

If I may, I would say one negative thing about the book, for me personally, that I’m sure many people will disagree with, is that they had too many dogs and they controlled quite a bit of the story, that I could have done without. While I love animals, I am not what anyone would ever call “a pet mom”. I enjoy other people’s pets but have never felt the drive to have one myself. So, taking that into consideration, that is why I am sure I did not identify with the characters having so many dogs. Having said that, I already have stated in my review that I really enjoyed the story, so it definitely did not change my opinion of the overall book at all.

Thank you to HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter and NetGalley for giving me the pleasure of reading the advance reader copy, with no obligation to write a review. My review is written freely as a hobby, and is totally my own opinion, not influenced by receiving the ARC.
