This is a must have book not just for parents and grand parents who want help bringing their children up within the Christian fatih but also for new Christians wanting to learn how to pray.

Divided into 31 relevant chapters giving advice to parents, grandparents and new Christians followed by some bible verses to meditate on or discuss and memories. Followed by a simple prayer and then some questions to discuss with the child and a prayer for them to learn or read for themselves.

It is a simple structure which works. Some of the topics explored are "God is good'; 'What is my destiny?'; 'nothing is impossible with God'; 'hearing God's voice'; 'dreaming with God'; 'worship'; 'trusting'; 'joy'; 'courage'; 'gratefulness'; 'forgiveness' ... and much, much more.

Look no further, this is a book worth owning. It will change your prayer life.
Thank you.

I really enjoyed reading this book of God's promises.the author presented detailed situations on what to expect from our children and possible biblical answers backed by scriptures and prayer. Highly recommend for parents of growing kids.

This book is a perfect example of "Don't Judge a Book By Its Cover." I should have read more about this book before downloading it. I chose this book based on the cover. I thought it was going to be a promise book for kids that I could use in my Sunday School class. Unfortunately, this book is aimed more at parents than children.

Bible Promises and Prayers for Children is a powerful and useful book for families. I loved each section and felt like the size of each devotional made it so it was not overwhelming for my family to do together. It’s a privilege and blessing to pray over and with my children and I’m grateful for this book to be able to have a quick and easy way to impart truth, love, and encouragement into my kids.

Thank you to Net Galley for this copy, my opinions are my own.

What an amazing tool to use as we disciple our children! I love that this book is broken up into short chapters, which makes it easy to focus on one concept. There's a point for parents, with a prayer you can customize for each child. Then, there's also a section for your children so you can teach them what you're learning.

I love this book so much and it's helped me view my children in a more positive light.

Little bite sized topics with prayers, decrees, questions, and activity ideas to do with children if they are old enough, a great gift idea for parents or grandparents or even if you don't have kids the subjects are written in easy to understand language that will feed your faith too.

I will definitely recommend this to parents for teaching their children stories of the Bible. Very well written.

My children are now all adults, some being parents themselves so I must admit that I requested this book out of curiosity rather than to use myself. As a Christian parent I would have found this book encouraging and helpful. However it is very American in style (as expected) and some would say extreme especially by a British parenting point of view. If I was to recommend this within our church community I would do so with the caviate that a parent should consider the child participation sections carefully before presenting them to their family and perhaps rephrase some of the content.

Bible Promises and Prayers for Children
Releasing Your Child's Divine Destiny
by Bill Johnson, Beni Johnson, Abigail McKoy
Back of the Book: “Parents have the privilege and responsibility to partner with God to release their children's divine destiny. Biblical wisdom, God's promises, and the passionate prayers of caretakers of children are change agents in the lives of these young giant-killers.
From Bethel Church leaders and parents Bill and Beni Johnson comes this practical 31-day prayer resource for those who want to receive God's passionate heart for their children, pray daily for them, and model prayer with them.
Each day includes
· an insightful, instructive reading to inspire Spirit-led parenting
· relevant Bible promises for meditation and declaration
· a related Scripture-based prayer
· activations to do with your child, including a question to discuss, a short prayer to pray, a decree to declare together, and a practical action step of faith
God places children in families for a reason--so parents can fan into flame all their children are to become. Your child has big battles to face. This book will help equip you to be the strength and encouragement your child needs.”
Impression: This was an interesting book and I can say I’ve not read anything with this format. I enjoyed the parent sections of reading but felt there was a gap from me (the parent) to the discussion with my children. If there was a parent section and then a children section followed by the questions that would have made more sense to me. This format didn’t work for our family devotion time as I hoped it would but was still a good book with Biblical wisdom. I personally enjoyed the devotional and prayers as well as the declarations for the kids. For reference, this book was organized by a parent devotional, relevant verses, a prayer, and “Your Child” section (which included an ask, pray, declare and do) to wrap up the devotional.
I received a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review shared here.
