My thanks to #NetGalley & #TheQuartruGroup-Arum for allowing me to review this ARC.
Seldom has a book got me rooting for a person to make good and live their dream, especially when they have worked so hard for a dream, existing on pills and alcohol to get through each day and then have it ruthlessly taken away.. Leaving behind a husband who’s moto is ‘If I can’t have you then you will have nothing’ so takes the business and her child but leaves her with a forced admission to a psychiatric unit a stack of bills and addiction
This could have marked the end of everything, but with grit determination and the overwhelming support of her friends and the people who believe in her she turns abandoned, unwanted and neglected to a magical culinary experience.
A lovely inspiring book and highly recommended.

I received a copy of the book from Netgalley to review. Thank you for the opportunity.
I really enjoyed reading this book because the writing was well done and very evocative, drawing the reader in rapidly with its descriptions. There is plenty of food to get the readers mouth watering and I liked the exploration and depiction of the authors relationship with food throughout life. There were some gritty and difficult topics that arose in this story but I liked the raw honesty that kept me turning the pages.

Really interesting memoir about growing up in rural Maine, and eventually setting up The Lost Kitchen (which sounds amazing!) I spent a lot of the time I was reading this wanting to scream at Erin not to make certain choices, but it was a fascinating read. And really made me want to go into my own kitchen to cook something, which is always how I like to feel when I'm reading a memoir about food :-)
