this was a interesting children's book, it was a great plot and had interesting characters with unique personalities.

Delightful middle grade read that I recommended to friends with children or grandchildren of the appropriate age/reading level. Well written and enjoyable story.

Timothy is an orphan. He lives at The Ickle House with other children. Timothy and the other children are treated badly. When Timothy is cleaning the parlor, he discovers the tiny box that the guest misplaced. He opens the box and finds a map. Timothy wants to find out who his parents were so runs away ending up in the nearby village. He becomes friends with Haggerty, than with Moreverdre and her brother, and Sildphidius, a historian. They are involved in the Grand Hunt. The Grand Hunt is a contest for the pirates where they searched for hidden treasure. Timothy must go on the Grand Hunt as a part of the treasure is the Sacred Scroll. The Sacred Scroll will answer any questions. Will he find his parents? Timothy wants to find it so he can know what happened to his parents and where they are. As the Sacred Scroll will answer questions, Timothy hopes to find his parents. Timothy goes on an adventure that has so much action with twists and turns that just don’t stop. He barely keeps from getting killed on more than one part of the Grand Hunt. Will Timothy find the Sacred Scroll? Will he win the Great Hunt?

The author has written a book that includes pirates and magic. The story is a wonderful enchantment as once I started reading this, I didn’t wanted to stop reading. It’s a fantastic story that has an ending that makes me for a follow up book!

This is a cute little book for middle-graders about friends, pirates and adventures.

I especially loved the pirate language, it was really fun!

This pirate story is full of adventure and friendship.

Timothy Timble Lived all his live in an orphanage from an cold hearted woman. Untill one day he finds an pirate map wich it seemed like only Timothy can open. He decided to run away from the orphanage and follow the map. The maps leads to another world full of adventures, where he find some friends on the way.

I loved this storie, the real adventures start around halfway in the book, but the first half was still really intresting to me. I loved how the friendships are builded and that we get to discover this whole new world with Timothy..

If your looking for an exciting pirate adventures i highly recommend this book.

I would recommend this to readers of Harry Potter and Keeps of lost cities.

I thoroughly enjoyed the magic and mystery that was this book. The story was well developed and well thought out. Each character just added to the brilliance of the story and I appreciated this very much.

A pirate themed adventure book for middle graders.

‘The Timble Family Curse’ tells the story of Timothy Timble, who is stuck in The Ickle House with a couple of friends and their cold-hearted nanny. Determined to discover his true origin, Timothy gallantly adopts necessary steps. Events lead him to fortunately get his hands on a strange map one day, and following that he gradually finds himself in the world that is truly his, the world that holds the answer to his questions.

The book, visibly influenced by the Harry Potter series, leads the reader to a quick adventure involving treasures and pirates. A decent pick for anyone with limited time and fascination about pirates.

The determination and courage of Timothy Timble no doubt have the potential to inspire young readers. Another visible positive side of the book is the team-work; the way the author has portrayed the importance of diverse qualities is indeed appreciable.

Throughout the story, the use of both ‘toward’ and ‘towards’ was noticed. There were a few sentences that could have been put in a different way to make them sound better.

I personally feel that the influence of Harry Potter might not be very impressive to many readers but that entirely depends on the taste of the person reading it. Besides, there is scope to improve the overall style of narration.

The book does deserve to be given a shot.

This story is engrossing from the very beginning, and I think that students will enjoy it. I hope that this author writes more in this series!

Timothy Timble is having a lousy childhood. Orphaned as a babe, he’s being raised by mean Storka Ickle in a terrible home for wayward children. Storka doesn’t celebrate kid’s birthdays, and even worse, refuses to give him any information about where he came from or what happened to his parents.

But one day Timothy finds a map left behind by a strange visitor, and when he decides to try to use it, he finds himself entering a world filled with eye-popping magic, terrible pirates, fantastic lands, and for Timothy, the most exciting thing of all—people here know who he is, and seem to know all about the Timble family! A family which, to young Timothy’s confusion, seems to carry a curse.

While readers will no doubt be reminded of Harry Potter, I think I also spied an homage to Gollum in The Lord of the Rings and a shout-out to the fantasy movie Labyrinth. Young readers will love seeing adults thwarted by clever, scheming kids, and will certainly enjoy the whimsical style of magic. It can be quite dangerous, but sometimes it’s just hilarious.

Laury Falter has created a lavishly detailed world for Timothy and his new friends to travel in search of adventures and answers. The story is well-told, with a setup that arouses our curiosity, and a satisfying conclusion which leaves us hoping for more. I hope the author plans on taking Timothy Timble and all of us on more magical adventures.
