I really loved this story! The entire time I felt like I was watching a movie play out, it was amazing!! I loved the characters and the romance that slowly sneaked into the story. Overall a really fantastic read. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!

Sophie is a professional bridesmaid. She secretly makes sure the hen party and the wedding goes to plan. When she gets a job as Lady Cordelia bridesmaid she makes life as difficult as she can for Sophie.

This is such a fun, light-hearted read. I found it so funny and entertaining. I enjoyed all the characters and getting to know them. The bridezilla moments were hilarious. I loved it, it was a much needed escape

A good idea but a bit too far fetched to be believable. I finished the book and it was an ok read but not the best or worst that I read this year.

Sophie loves weddings so much so she has made it her job. Sophie is a professional bridesmaid. She is a bride's right-hand woman and is there to make sure that the dream wedding goes off without a hitch. When Sophie get hired by rich socialite Lady Victoria Swan to be her daughter's bridemaid, what can go wrong? Only dealing with bridezilla but also her brother Lord Swann is rather attractive too.

This was a really sweet book and really had what was need to make it a good and heartwarming book. Sophie was a lovely charcter but I think that Lady Cordelia was the standout character. She was not only a bridezilla but a three dimensional character who had her own issue to deal with.

My only issue with this book was I felt that it had a rather slow start. I thought that once it actually got going it was good but I found myself very close to not being very interested. But I am glad that I pushed on because this not only took me by suprise I really grew to like it.

This book is less of a romance and more a story of about friendship and what makes a true friend with just a hint of romance sprinkled in. But please don't let that put you off reading it because I did enjoy it and would recommend to anyone looking for a sweet and heartwarming story.

A lovely, easy, breezy read that I whizzed through and thoroughly enjoyed. The story had a great concept and the characters were well written. I loved Sophie and particularly enjoyed the 'off camera' moments beginning each chapter, such as emails that would have had anyone else tearing their hair out! She met every challenge with aplomb leading to several laugh out loud moments. Just the tonic for a lockdown winter day.

Sophie is the perfect bridesmaid and she should be it’s her job.
Posing as a friend of the bride Sophie takes over the jobs that the bride hasn’t the time to do. Sourcing exactly what’s needed and makes sure everything runs like clockwork.
Then she gets the impossible client can she win her over?

The Secret Bridesmaid is my favourite type of holiday read - happy, descriptive with a touch of drama and a happy ending. It was such an enjoyable and easy read.

Loved this book! Hilarious and relatable. For readers who are fans of The Devil Wears Prada and 27 Dresses.

Sophie is a secret bridesmaid. She is hired by the bride or the family of the bride to help organise the wedding, without taking over and giving the impression to everyone that the wedding was very personal. When she is contacted by Lady Victoria Swann to help organise the wedding of her daughter, she sees it as a chance to get referral to a lot more weddings. However, the bride is really not happy about Sophie's involvement and really shows it making Sophie's life a nightmare. And on top of that, to make things even more complicated, Sophie is starting to like the brother of the bride.
This was a fun read, very entertaining and fast to read.

A good romantic story. Sophie loves being a bridesmaids so much she does it for a job. This really means she’s a wedding planner but is actually a member of the wedding party. It does take a bit of imagination that the main bridesmaid has only just appeared as a dear friend of the bride as I’m not fully sure that other friends and close relations would believe this. However, it makes for a good read and, of course, true love never runs smoothly.

I really enjoyed this. I loved how the characters were developed, particularly Cordelia. I thought some of the dialogue linked to Sophie’s other job felt a bit unnecessary at times. Either way, I couldn’t put it down.

Thoroughly enjoyed this read. Sophie Breeze... professional bridesmaid ends up with diva and thoroughly unpleasant Lady Cordelia Swan as a client- who makes it quite clear that she really wants nothing to do with 'Emily aka Sophie' who has been hired by her parents .
After hilarious events, disasters, misunderstanding and falling for Cordelia's brother..the real Cordelia emerges and so does friendship and romance.
Loved the way the book swopped between Sophie's relationship with Cordelia and emails/ letters/ conversations between Sophie and her other demanding brides.
Really enjoyable read..Will be looking out for more by this author.. Highly recommend.

This light hearted, funny, chick lit book was an absolute joy to read. First adult novel I understand from this author but please write more.
Sophie is a professional bridesmaid, being that person the bride can't do without, in her run up to her wedding.

She lands the biggest commission of her career.....hired by lady Meade to befriend her daughter, lady Cordelia, in the run up to her large aristocratic wedding. However....Cordelia makes it very clear that she does not like, nor wish to work with Sophie. This hilarious tale follows the mayhem on the run up to Cordelia s wedding.....absolute must read.

I absolutely loved this smart, funny, wholesome tale of a professional bridesmaid who's hired to help a reluctant and, frankly bratty, bride plan her society wedding. Sophie's made a career of being a discreet addition to a wedding, a friend slash assistant, with a subtle helping hand and expert career in crisis management. But when she's hired by the mother of the bride to help socialite Cordelia plan the biggest wedding of a year, this is Sophie's biggest challenge yet. Then, when a rival wedding is announced for the same day, Cordelia turns out to be an absolute nightmare diva bride, and the bride's brother turns out to be something of (a lot of) a dish, things start to get complicated.
Sophie's a great main character, and the central relationship of the book, between her and spiky, defensive, frankly horrible sometimes, bride Cordelia is a brilliant enemies-to-friends development which is nuanced and complex and layered, and really delightful to read. The romance elements of the story are secondary to the friendship, which makes this a really delightful read.
Birchall is also just a really funny writer. There were many lines in the book which made me laugh out loud, or stop and read them out to whoever was closest to me at the time. Plus, shout out to Ye Old Mitre, a really nice pub in London that I've visited with friends back in the before times.

Funny, heartfelt, and eminently readable, this book was exactly what I needed as a pick-me-up, and I can't wait for it to come out so I can start recommending it to friends.

An easy, fun and addictive read. I absolutely loved this book and hope that there will be more in the future as I think there is definitely room for more tales from the secret bridesmaid and that as the main story ended a new one was definitely beginning. I laughed out loud in many places especially reading through the brides demands and emails back and forth from wedding suppliers and although I’m no wedding planner feel the pain of emailing back and forth to clarify wants, needs and demands on a regular basis.

Highly recommended

The basis of this book is what the title says, Sophie is a professional bridesmaid and is hired to be a brides go to girl. This book is fun, funny and highly entertaining. A great way to escape reality would be to lose yourself in this book.

I loved this book!! So funny I literally laughed out loud but with a real heartwarming feel too. The characters felt real and relatable. I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys Marian Keyes, Josie Silver and Sophie Kinsella.

This was such a good story. The idea behind it is a brilliant one, and something I could definitely see as a real possibility for a business. The author obviously put a lot of thought into things.

Cordelia is the ultimate bridezilla. Her antics, and behaviour, are brilliantly written.

Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing a copy.

I chose this book as I had been reading some 'heavy' titles recently and felt I needed a bit of light relief.. This is a real chick lit book, which anyone who enjoys that genre will probably love
Unfortunately I am not keen on books where I can see what is going to happen, just little way in. Added to that, one of the characters is called Leslie. Now, both my brother and I have the middle name Leslie. His is spelled like this, whereas mine is Lesley - which is the female version and I was irritated that the lady in the book had her name spelled the man's way.

However the concept of the 'hired' bridesmaid was a clever one and the stories of things going wrong during wedding planning were amusing. Unfortunately not my cup of tea but I can imagine loads of people recommending it on the Facebook 'Lost in a Good Book''!!
