Started off a bit slow, wasn’t sure where it was going to go. Then I couldn’t put it down! Haven’t read anything from Roberts before but will definitely be looking more of her books up!

I'm quite new to Nora Roberts and this is the second book I've read recently of hers, I very much enjoy her writing style, which is hard hitting, sometimes shocking but also quite emotional and touching.
This one starts violently (no spoilers) but Adrian is a steely strong character who has been shaped by her childhood trauma but still manages to remain quite a gentle persona, I loved her character.
A very good read that will keep you hooked.

Another great read from Nora, kept me gripped throughout guessing Adrians past and who is sending her these awful death threats - are are they just someones idea of a joke?

Firstly, I'd like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for providing an eARC of Legacy for an honest review.

Straightaway with that first line I was hooked: 'the first time Adrian met her father was the day he tried to kill her'. Hook, line and sinker. We got to see the main character, Adrian, grow from a 7 year old into her thirties and for me it didn't seem strange to keep jumping forward in time because we were given the main events that mattered and it made sure we knew exactly what was going on in her life.

It is a multiple POV book that is a romance thriller, which Nora Roberts does so well. Adrian is being stalked by an unknown poet from the time she becomes a well known fitness instructor. Every single year she receives a poem that are all equally threatening. We get the POV from the murderer and it is so chilling the way Roberts creates her stories. As well as this we have a beautiful family that mean so much to Adrian. Her grandparents are brilliant characters. Adrian's friends that she acquires over the years and their children are the best. There are so many brilliant themes in this book that you just need to read it to see it.

Then there is the romance between Adrian and Raylan. With Jasper and Sadie (their dogs) is so lovely and heartwarming. They finally came together after so many years of knowing each other. Roberts always gives her characters such interesting careers and I loved watching Adrian's blossom creating fitness videos and Raylan with his graphic novels.

Definitely recommending this to anyone and everyone! It's a brilliant book that you need to read!

My thanks to #NetGalley and #Thelittle brown book group for allowing me to review this book.
I don’t pick up many thriller’s however because it was written by Nora Roberts it was an anticipated read.
I wasn’t disappointed light enough not to give you nightmares but gripping so that you are second guessing what’s going to happen next. Loved the last few chapters where the pace increased..The bonus was a doggy love story with courage and heroism.
Worth picking up especially if you think thrillers aren’t your genre you may surprise yourself.

Domestic violence is a subject everybody should educate themselves with. It happens far more often than you’d think. And when it involves children it’s doubly horrific. This book talks about how children and their families deal with the aftermath of this violence in amazing ways. I loved the strength and power in the story!

I love a new Nora Roberts as I know I’m in for a great, gripping read and this is no different. She is a master storyteller.

On the surface Adrian Rizzo has it all success, beauty and family but someone is out to get her and she doesn’t know why or who. The comfort of finding a place and friends in the world allows her to take control of the situation with explosive results. So good I’ve run out of words

I really enjoyed this book and as always Robert's done a brilliant job. Loved her writing style and enjoyed her representation of female friendships. The suspense was just right for this style of plot with strong female lead. Highly recommend.

Determined to succeed in her own right, Adrian starts her own online exercise business without the help of her successful mother. She suffered a traumatic event during her childhood, and her relationship with her largely absent mother is not marvellous, but apart from that Adrian lives a pollyannaish life.
Juxtaposed against this fairytale existence is the annual letter Adrian receives from a stalker who threatens to kill her. The letters are in such stark contrast to her perfect life that they seem even more threatening. And then they start appearing more frequently – just as Adrian’s life is really taking off. Who is behind them, and can they be stopped before the stalker carries out his threat?
Nora Roberts cleverly uses a number of themes that have emerged during the pandemic, but sets the story before 2020. So there are online yoga and exercise classes, moves from the city to the country as everyone can work from home, a renewed appreciation for nature and grief at the loss of elderly relations. These are all now aspects of many of our lives during the Covid years, and define the world for so many of us. So the story is full of topical things we all relate to, but thankfully does not reference the pandemic.
I enjoyed this easy read, although I did find Adrian’s life just a little too perfect (apart from the deadly threats, of course) to be believable.

Thanks to NetGalley and Little, Brown/ Piatkus for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review. It has been a long time since I Read a Nora Roberts book, I used to love her books so was excited to read Legacy.

The book has a fairly violent start to the book when Adrian meets her father for the first and last time. As Adrian becomes older she experiences unwanted attention from ‘the poet’ who sends her threatening poems.

The book itself is a mixed bag. I found the book completely predictable all the way through and knew the whole plot line after the first couple of characters. Some parts of the book I enjoyed but that was soon met with annoyance at the predictability of the book.

Adrian has had a difficult past. A mother who loves work more than her, and a father who tried to kill her. She does however, have some fantastic friends. Life seems to be better as she gets older and soon she is living a busy, successful life. Only one thing seems to shadow this happy ending. A poet. A poet who is obsessed with ensuring Adrian's life is cut short. This book was easy to read and gripping. The characters had depths to them and I enjoyed getting to know them.

I enjoyed this book - a strong female lead, a great storyline showing the trauma of stalking and a strong, if complex relationship between a mother and son. I also enjoyed the budding romance between the main character, Adrian, and Raylan. More romance than suspense, but if you are looking for a summer read, with loving descriptions of fine food and copious exercise, this one is for you...

With a cracking opening line - "The first time Adrian Rizzo met her father, he tried to kill her", I knew I was about to read a tale that would be the commencement of a Big Dipper of emotions.

Legacy centres around a young woman, Adrian Rizzo who starts to receive death threats in the form of poems just before her 17th birthday. Having a famous mother, Lina who also receives unnerving mail, Adrian and her mum inform the local police, the FBI and her mum's publicist, Harry but otherwise ignore the threats...

Nora Roberts slowly builds up the tension and cleverly drops hints and small clues so I was soon hooked into this compelling story, racing through the pages to find out what happens next. Amongst all the tension is themes of family life, friendships, and love with asides of humour. The narrative between friends and family is joyful. Legacy made me laugh, gasp and cry in equal measures and it’s totally compulsive right up until the final words. Very highly recommended and an extremely worthwhile slow-burn romance with thriller undertones.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Little, Brown Book Group via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

My good friend is a Nora Roberts fan and after being sent a copy of 'Legacy' from @NetGalley, I can say that I too am a fan and certainly have a back catalogue to get through. Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for their kindness in sending the e-copy.

Our main character Adrian Rizzo certainly has had a troubled childhood - she is attacked by her professor father at the start of the novel which led to her witnessing his death in the struggle. Her mother, an exercise and life-style celebrity decides to continue working so Adrian stays with the Rizzos, her beloved grandparents. Adrian loves everything about her life there but is often hauled back to be with her mother. Her mother is in no way maternal and is largely absent; leaving her in the care of her manager Harry and tutor Mimi. Adrian wants to carve out her own niche and uses her mother's absence to become the latest online sensation; using her mother's drive and determination to cement her popularity on YouTube with yoga tutorials.

As her celebrity grows, Adrian starts to receive a poem each year which chills her to the core. Told to photocopy the poem then give a copy to Harry and the FBI, Adrian is expected to just ignore the terrifying verses and continue with her burgeoning career. Thirteen years pass and Adrian carves out a life for herself in Maryland with a set of solid characters, from her friends Teesh, Raylan and the most memorable canines, Jasper and Sadie.

Despite her happiness in Maryland, the menace still lurks with a new verse in an envelope with a different postmark which are being delivered with alarming regularity. This all leads to a dramatic conclusion which I imagine is true of other books by Nora Roberts - certainly a new author to enjoy exploring.

Thank you NetGalley and St Martin’s Press for ARC. I am a huge fan of Nora Roberts and the way she creates interesting and dynamic characters, with plot twisting stories that have you making time to read it in one sitting.

Legacy is suppose to be this gripping suspense with a romance element, filled to the brim of beautifully crafted characters. A good portion of the story provides you with a detailed backstory on our leading characters Adrian and Rayland, you spend a bit of time wonder when they’re going to get together.

When the plot from Adrain’s stalker unfolds it’s lacklustre. For 13+ years she’s been tormented but he easily manages to capture her, Adrian while knowing she’s set a challenge to a stalker doesn’t take extra precautions or arrange for personal protection even though she has the money.

Whilst I liked the romance element it didn’t have the sizzle of her other books. A little tepid in comparison.

I am a great Nora Roberts fan; she can write thrillers as well as romantic novels and a merging of the two! This latest thriller from her does not disappoint and is a great addition to her expansive list of books.

Adrian Rizzo has had a difficult childhood, her first meeting with her father, when she was just seven, was the day he tried to kill her!! So sets the scene for this great thriller. Adrian, despite this, works hard to deal with this and also with her very successful mother; a women who heads up a Fitness Business, producing Yoga, Wellbeing and Fitness DVD's, etc. As her mother Lina is away a lot building up a multi million dollar business, Adrian has a much loved nanny and spends most of her time being watched over and loved by her maternal grandparents.

Adrian thrives into a beautiful young woman and undeterred by her past and her mother's success, she records her own first DVD, with the help of her school friends, friends who others in the private school like her had been shunned as "nerds". These friends stay loyal to her throughout her life!

With the success of her first DVD aimed at people more her own age, comes the first death threat, in the form of a poem. Her mother tells her not to worry, she gets them all the time; just keep the police informed and get on with life! But the threats keep coming, more frequently and from different states, so she seeks the help of a Private Investigator and former cop.

Raylan is a brother of her best friend; he's a widower with two young children who has recently returned to his home town from New York to concentrate dealing with his grief and his children's grief at losing their mother. He is a graphic artist, his dog Jasper falls for Adrian's big guard dog Sadie, and so walks into Adrian's life.

Of course, the attraction between the two adults is undeniable but the threats to Adrian start getting more frequent, the PI finds a link with lots of past female murders. How long before the threat to Adrian becomes more than just words?

This is a great standalone romantic thriller from Nora Roberts featuring great characters and a great plotline.

I loved it and eagerly await the next book of this kind from NR.

Nora Roberts has nailed it once again. Couldn't wait to finish to conclude the story but so sad once it was done as the story was over. No win situation with this one. I have not read many of Nora Roberts books (but i do intend to) but the few i have i have thoroughly enjoyed em. Fantastic read and i would highly recommend.
