This author has been for a while a go to for me, easy to read, engaging characters, romance and suspense and just a feel-good feeling to her books.

This is her new book centred around a young woman called Adrian whose biological dad tries to kill her and her mum at the start of the book. We follow her building her life from a young age, maturing and become a fitness sensation just like her mum. She makes friends for life and things are looking great for her future.

Life’s events bring her home to her grandparents house where she continues to build her business whilst enjoying a quiet life in a small community. It all sounds just idyllic but Adrian is living with a chilling secret.

Every year she has been sent a poem, a threat in verse and every year she copies it and passes it to the relevant authorities. As she navigates her way through life we witness her find love and face her darkest fears.

As with all Nora Roberts books, I was instantly immersed in the storyline. There is a much more depth to the book, it deals with a number of issues but it’s an easy read which for me always means a comfort read.

It’s a romance with a good dose of suspense but it’s the friendships, the community, the females that makes her books for me so enjoyable. Oh and in this book, the dogs.

If your like romance books with a bit more page turning suspense then this book is for you. A cosy read for me and I know when I open the pages what i am going to get.
A 4 star read for me.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for this arc in return for an honest review.

This is the first book I've ever read by Nora Roberts, and I really enjoyed it. It made me jumpy, kept me guessing until the end and kept my interest and intrigue throughout. Would definitely recommend!

would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this exceptional book

every february around valentines day adrian would receive a letter with a poem in it, it was meant to unsettle her and though the fbi and police were kept apprised of the yearly poems there was evidence as to who was sending them

she had a stalker, who always knew where she was

but this story is so much more than a stalker.. its about family and love and mans best friend her dog sadie.

this book deals with family issues, death, and building a legacy, what not to love about this book plus it was fun to read how with her life skills how she could improve her friends lives and well being with a bit of exercise

brilliant read from a master writer, cant wait for the next book from nora roberts

Gripping and beautifully complex, Legacy feels like a legacy itself, with strong characters who you get to know over many years, engaging you emotionally from the start and captivating you with their endearing relationships.

This was my first experience of a Nora Roberts book, but I've heard so many good things about her that I had to give this one a go. And I can see why so many people adore her books. She blends the multiple genres really well, beginning with a shocking opening that sets up a mystery/thriller but then swiftly moving into a character-driven drama as we get to know Adrian from her youth to her adult years.

You get to know every character so in-depth that you really connect with every single one of them. Even the smaller characters have vivid personalities so you can't help but feel invested in their story. I prefer my books to be quicker paced so there were a few sections that were a little long for me, as you get to know about every aspect of their lives. But it all pays off in the end as you really come to feel like a part of the family.

But because you spend so much time investing in the lives of these characters, focusing on the comforting family drama and the compelling romances, the thriller side of the story takes a backseat and feels a little underwhelming by the end. The story as a whole is rounded up really well, but it just failed to shock or interest me in the way that a general thriller would, as the focus is put on how these characters move on from the event rather than the event itself.

However, I love how true-to-life it all feels at the same time. Adrian's trauma is handled in such a genuine way that it all builds up your personal connection to the story. The sense of family is strong and will lure you in from page one. This is certainly a book that will capture your heart with a group of characters that you will be sure to miss.

As usual a great read by one of my favourite authors. You always know what you’re getting with a Nora Roberts book, an interesting story, a strong female character, and a bit of suspense thrown in, and this was just that, and even though her books run on similar lines they’re just so readable.

The main character of this book was Adrian (female), unusual spelling as this is usually a male name - at least in the UK - but the real stars of the book were the two dogs, Sadie & Jasper, such really funny, faithful, fearless characters who were such wonderful heroes at the end too (and I have to add no dogs died!).

Adrian is the daughter of Lina, a single mother and famous yoga teacher, who has increased her ‘brand’ over the years but to the detriment of being with her daughter as she was always flying around the world and wasn’t a very hands-on mother. But did what she thought best for Adrian, at least money-wise. Once Adrian is old enough she strikes out on her own and starts her own brand of exercise/yoga videos etc. With the help of a group of ‘geeks’ from school, who end up being lifelong friends, following a similar path to her mother, but in her own way.

Adrian is a lot more family orientated than her mother though, and spends a lot of time with her grandparents in their lovely home and restaurant in Travelers Creek over the years. They were always there for her, especially during an especially hard time when she was young when her biological father attacked Adrian and her mother in their house.

The story follows them over the years, along with the suspense of who is sending Adrian threatening poems over many years. We also have the love interest, Raylan (brother of Adrian's best friend), popping up here and there at the beginning of the book and, through a tragedy, he also ends up living in Travelers Creek, along with Adrian and other friends who move there as their lives evolve and priorities are changed as children come in to the mix.

Of course there’s the usual suspense running through the story, which keeps things interesting, and eventually a lovely ending. I do love Nora Roberts, you just can’t go wrong with picking one of her books up. Recommend this book so much I’ve even got the audio copy.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So whenever I hear there is a new Nora Roberts book about to be published, I cannot contain my excitement. She is without a doubt in my top 5 list of favourite authors. Wether she is writing mystery, romance, paranormal or thriller she gets just the right mix of each ingredient that gets me hooked.

Let me start by saying I love the front cover, it gives so little away, yet so much with the words "The first time Adrian met her Father, was the day he tried to kill her" I was gripped before I had even opened the book.

On meeting Adrian in the book I couldn't help but warm to her immediately. Brought up by a Mother who is in no way maternal she is longing to be loved and finds solace in her grandparents after one of the most traumatic experiences of her young life. Her Grandparents are amazing people and I so wanted to be a honouree Rizzo and have a special pizza made for me.

One of the things Nora does so well it write about successful, strong women and men who are not intimidated by that success. They are also always filled with amazing friends and family bonds. This book was no exception, whilst I did enjoy the story line it wasn't what I was exactly expecting. The romance for me fell a bit flat it didn't really build up it more like just happened and they were suddenly in love without much chemistry. I also felt the suspense and thriller element wasn't as present as it usually is, in fact it only really appeared by about 80% and I have already worked out ho the killer was, so I was slightly disappointed that I didn't feel the usual trepidation I do when reading her books. And from my initial perception on seeing the cover.

I have to say the dogs were adorable and they kept me more entertained during the story as I got bored of Adrian and her exercise routines they totally name the book for me along with Papa Rizzo.

Thank you to Netgalley and Little, Brown Book Group UK for ad advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

As a self confessed 'Nora addict' I wait, with bated breath, for every publication and Legacy didn't disappoint.

The characters are, as always, people you wish were your friends. The sense of family, of blood, and not. The precocious but adorable children. The mystery that needs to be solved. All of these things add up to a first class reading experience.

As I've come to expect from Nora Roberts, the story alongside top notch dialogue is always a winner. Although a tad predictable, this is a novel that will capture your attention from the first page to the last.

First class read!

Adrian Rizzo was seven when she met her father for the first time. That was the day he nearly killed her—before her mother, Lina, stepped in. Soon after, Adrian was dropped off at her grandparents’ house in Maryland, where she spent a long summer drinking lemonade, playing with dogs, making a new best friend—and developing the stirrings of a crush on her friend’s ten-year-old brother. Lina, meanwhile, travelled the country promoting her fitness brand and turning it into a billion-dollar business. There was no point in dwelling on the past.

A decade later, Adrian has created her own line of yoga and workout videos, following in Lina’s footsteps but intent on maintaining creative control. And she’s just as cool-headed and ambitious as her mother. They aren’t close, but they’re cordial—as long as neither crosses the other. But while Lina dismisses the death threats that Adrian starts getting as a routine part of her daughter’s growing celebrity, Adrian can’t help but find the vicious rhymes unsettling. Year after year, they keep arriving—the postmarks changing, but the menacing tone the same.

Legacy is divided into three parts. One being Adrian's backstory and her growing up, which moved pretty quickly. Parts two and three provide more depth into Adrian's story as an adult and it felt like the pacing was a bit slower once the story settled into adult Adrian. There's even a look into the eyes of the crazed killer! Definitely some suspense and thrill from this story and just enough romance to keep the warm and fuzzy feelings Roberts is so good at providing!

This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and would read more of their work. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you very much to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

Many thanks to NetGalley, Little Brown Book Group UK, and Piatkus for letting me see an advance reader's copy of Legacy, which is one of three recent/soon-to-be releases with 'legacy' in the title.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story, which starts when the main character Adrian (female) is only seven years old. It touches on her life for the next ten years, and then the following ten years in more detail.

The slowburn suspense, which increased as the story progressed, had me gripped. This is the first novel I've read in a long time that has kept me turning the pages, staying up late, and sneaking in extra chapters whenever I can.

The characters are great, I loved them all. But I did get confused with some of the gender fluid names, and I got a bit lost as to which character was speaking. There was also a lot of head-hopping, which didn't help me either.

It is a great tale, though, with a lovely setting at Traveler's Creek for the most part. I'll certainly look out for more stories like this one from Nora Roberts.

Unfortunately I couldn't get in to this book and gave up as I really couldn't get connected to the characters. I see a lot of love for this author and would definitely try another, just personal preference but I felt it was stretched out and I want to be absorbed to give the time to read a book. Sorry but huge thank you for the copy it's much appreciated

What a great read, I really enjoyed this, such a good storyline with so many lovely characters and a couple of nasty ones along the way. Very cleverly written

Thank you to the author, publisher Little, Brown Book Group UK and NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book.

I adore the characters in this book, so well written that I was right there with them, hearing all their accents.

I loved the storyline just for the friendships and love story. But this book also had the added element of a stalker/possible serial killer. At first the story felt like it didn’t need this element as it was such an insignificant part of the story, but as it went on this part built to an exhilarating climax!

A thriller of a story but also a story of family, love, friendship and legacy. A brilliant read

Not my usual kind of read but I enjoyed it nonetheless and didn’t expect the ending

I'm sorry, I really tried to like this book but, even after reading 20% of it, I gave up. It reads like a young adult book to me. I didn't connect with the main characters or believe the life they were living. It seemed trivial. I appreciate being given the opportunity to read it, though.

This is quite a hard review to write. I used to read a lot of Nora Roberts books in the past. Then I stopped as they were all getting similar. I decided to try this one but it really didn’t grab me. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

Legacy is a book that follows the life of Adrian, from a pivotal moment as a child and all the changes that follows to her adulthood.
The cast of characters are well developed and very likeable and weaving them through her life shows a richness to the story.
A thriller romance Legacy has both the joys and sorrows of life, the characters journey brings laughter and tears. The whodunnit part has an excellent build up, a smooth pace that gathers as it moves to the end that leaves you guessing.
Legacy is a real escape an excellent read on the beach or curled up on a rainy day.

I found the experiences of the heroine's childhood exciting but, for me, there was too much about her fitness training and career, and the main male love interest's career in comic books. With relation to the killings by her stalker, did there really need to be so many?

Having said that, the idyllic community in which her grandparents' live provides a good bit of escapism and I particularly liked the character of the privae investigater. It would have benefited by being shorter, but is an enjoyable holiday read.

Nora Roberts does it again. As an avid fan of Nora I was looking forward to reading this latest novel from her.
She has penned a fantastic story with likeable characters and a plot that keeps you turning the pages until the early hours.
