Think there is some technical issue with it. Book never downloaded for some unknown reason and so unable to download...?

Do you have one of those annoying friends? You know the type — they get up at four in the morning to go running. They run marathons in their spare time for fun. Then they sit there in judgment of you whilst they drink their cucumber water and you drink — oh my god is that coffee? Caffeine is so bad for you. Yeah, you should just get high on life and get your energy from running at four in the morning. Well, now you can have that friend without the messiness of an actual relationship. Just subscribe to Adrienne's podcast and read the book. Power Hour, which gets its name from the podcast, is all about how you should get up an hour early to work on your dreams. Your annoying friend is probably right — that's what makes them so annoying — but at least they have their uses. They hold you to account, call you out on your bs, and try to keep you motivated. It's amazing what you can achieve in one hour per day when you set your mind to it. Even if you would prefer to spend that hour sleeping.

In this book, Adrienne Herbert champions using the first hour of the day to work on achieving your goals, whatever they may be, dubbing it “The Power Hour”. Herbert breaks down the tools that will help you do this, discussing the power of developing habits and discussing the benefits of good sleep, good exercise, good relationships and purpose. I listened to the audiobook.

I’d never listened to Adrienne Herbert’s podcast or come across her before listening to the audio book, so I had no idea what to expect. She narrates the audiobook herself and her enthusiasm and motivational way of delivering her content come across well. She has clearly read a lot on the topics that support her method of being productive in that first hour of the day and mentions these throughout the book so there is a lot of further reading that could be done following on from The Power Hour. There were quite a few moments that resonated with me or where I found myself nodding along with what she was saying. Herbert is clearly passionate about how using the Power Hour can change your life the way it has changed hers. The audiobook was great and probably made it easier for Herbert’s enthusiasm to come across to the reader but I do think this is the kind of book that you’d need to refer back to or flick through to find particular references or points so I think its something that I might pick up on eBook or physical in the future.

I liked the overall premise of this book and think the Author should be proud of all the things she's done. However when she talks about anyone being able to do anything, she ignores the fact that some disabilities make some things impossible, and as someone living with chronic illness I just couldn't relate to the majority of this book.

I'm a sucker for self-help motivational type audiobooks, especially ones I can listen to whilst working to keep me pumped up and raring to go. And whilst Power Hour was interesting and Adrienne did a fab job of narrating her book the overall idea just didn't quite hit the spot for me. The different topics related to being productive such as sleep, diet, movement were discussed in an easy to understand and interesting way. There were no new radical ideas here but instead a reminder that our bodies need a holistic approach to get it working at it's best level. I really enjoyed Adrienne's personal stories about how she struggled with and overcame each aspect discussed. However, never having heard of the Power Hour before and having no idea what it was about I was expecting the book to be more about an hour at the start of the day that is used to organise and plan the rest of the day, and about getting yourself motivated to tackle what lies ahead. So I was a little underwhelmed when the whole idea is to basically get up an hour earlier each day. Of course getting up an hour earlier will give you more time to achieve things in the day, that's just how time works. And it's not exactly helpful to people who are already having to cram as much as possible into their waking hours as possible and already get up early just to stay afloat.
So whilst I can appreciate that some people will love this book and find it inspiring, it just wasn't helpful for me.

I loved this audiobook! So much great advice, but offered in a manageable way. I wasn't keen on the idea of waking up an hour early (who would be?) but the rest of the advice has really struck a chord. The chapter on sleep was very helpful - lots of tips on ways to not only get more sleep but improve the quality of it, too. This book has given me a renewed energy for life and a real feeling of determination!

On a side note, the author reading the book is a definite bonus for me! She was so enthusiastic, it was impossible not to be swept along!

Power Hour refers to both the title of this book and the first hour of each day, when the focus remains on habit implementation, productivity, and progression.

Throughout this non-fiction, author Adrienne Herbert coaches the reader in how to utilise this first hour for continued greatness and to ensure we understand that we all have the time to do exactly what we want with our lives, if only we are willing to carve out the time it takes to get there. I found the contents incredibly inspiring and loved the personal anecdotes that were littered throughout.

The first hour of every day in 2021, so far, has been dedicated to inward focus where I have spent time in finding inner-peace and controlled thoughts before facing the chaos of living through a pandemic. I am still a work in progress but feel far better equipped to take on 2021, with this book by my side.

I have been just as motivated by this book as I have by its other lovely readers, who have woken at 6.30am all week along with me, on Instagram. We have all read pages of this book together before discussing our aims and our goals. Knowing you are not alone in a reality where contact is so limited has been incredibly heartening and I am so grateful to have been a part of this power hour movement.

Adrienne Herbert's motivational, friendly tone is the perfect voice to read 'Power Hour'. I initially assumed that Herbert's book would centre on how to implement a power hour and the benefits of doing so. Instead, her book builds on her successful inspiring podcast about how to achieve personal goals. Bookended by chapters offering advice about creating a power hour, the majority of Herbert's book explores topics such as movement, purpose and sleep. These are all things of which one must investigate and take control in order to thrive. The overall effect of the book is extremely motivating, as Herbert is good at making the lifestyle and mindset changes she suggests seem clear and easy to do. Be prepared, however, Herbert's 'you can do anything' approach does not make allowances for those whose health (physical or mental) may not permit them to pursue life as ruthlessly as she encourages.

Thank you so much for allowing me an advanced copy of this incredible book. I hadn’t heard of the author before coming across this. As soon as I read the blurb I knew this was the book for me. Adrienne is an extremely inspiring and focussed woman. I haven’t listened to her podcast but will certainly be now. She pulls together what she has learnt interviewing highly successful people for her podcast and her own thoughts on The power hour. What would you do if you had an extra hour a day? Exercise, learn a new language, meditate or journal? Anything Is possible if you make time to achieve your goals. Adrienne offers lots of advice and tips which all can be achieved by waking up an hour earlier. I have read other similar books on this topic but this felt much more real and relatable to me. I will certainly be starting my own power hour. This is the perfect book for starting a fresh new year!

‘The power hour’ is a fantastic book for anyone who is even the slightest bit motivated to improve their life!

Being narrated by author Adrienne, her passion for her lifestyle is clear, and this gives the audiobook an energy and authenticity that just makes you want to keep listening and applying the practical strategies.

There are so many useful strategies from Adrienne herselfin addition insight she has gleamed from numerous high achievers she has interviewed in her podcast of the same name.

I absolutely love that this title is available in an audiobook version, as it makes it so easy to digest when going about your daily tasks.

I was initially wary that this would be all about getting up an hour earlier each morning, and while Adrienne gives good reasons why this will improve our lives, the book is so much more than this. It offers inspiration to identify and reach our goals, and practical strategies along the way.

I particularly loved chapters relating to sleep, daily movement and personal relationship. This book really is all about life and how to do / make it better!

My thanks to NetGalley, Author and Publisher for the opportunity to review this life-changing book in exchange for an advance copy.

If you didn’t know already, I LOVE self-help non-fiction books. I am always on the lookout for ways to improve myself and my lifestyle, and though I don’t do big overhauls or changes, I find that making small changes does really impact me and I find it much easier to stick to.

Herbert’s Power Hour (an extension of her podcast of the same name, which I hadn’t heard before but will definitely listen now!) is a simple statement: how much extra could you achieve if you got up an hour earlier? The book doesn’t suggest you need to try and change the world or take on a huge project, but that hour could be used for running, writing a book or even reading more books!

The book offers tips to help you identify your goals, personal anecdotes from Herbert, as well as tips about sleep, healthy eating and how best to view your goals. Herbert’s reading of the audiobook is cheery and so easy to listen to - I would 100% have Adrienne as my wake-up call and motivation alarm on my phone. It’s also pretty short, so gets to the point quickly and doesn’t waste your time with any fake wisdom.
