Joe Goldberg is back for another adventure. He's recently moved to a small island off the coast of Washington State and attempting to live a quiet life. He’s also trying to be good and kind and nice and not obsessive or stalkery or murdery.

But then Joe decides to volunteer at the local library where he meets Mary Kay. She is the head librarian and drop dead gorgeous. And Joe wants to be with her. But there are a few obstacles in his way, one of which is convincing Mary Kay that she wants to be with him. But Joe being Joe - he always gets what he wants.

Joe’s inner monologues and musings are genius and yes, I do hear Penn Badgley’s voice when I read them 😊 For me, Joe is the perfect anti-hero.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House who were kind enough to grant my *wish* to read this ARC.

Well, that’s more like it! You Love Me is the third instalment of the ‘You’ series, due to be published in April, and you guys are in for a treat. Some parts felt a bit forced, but I think that’s more due to the fact that each book is centred around a new love interest/obsession, but Joe becomes increasingly bound to them. I wasn’t sure how Kepnes was going to separate Joe and Love considering the ending of the second book, and it did feel like a bit of a stretch (which is saying something for such an unbelievable book series). However, these minor incidents didn’t detract from the whole, and I honestly struggled to put the novel down. I can’t wait for people to read this and see it play out on screen.

Joe Goldberg is back.

If you love the series then I think you will like the latest instalment in the ‘You’ series. I personally really enjoyed this! I haven’t even read the first two books in the series (I know I know!) but if you’ve watched the series then you’ll recognise the names!

It’s pacey, there’s twists I didn’t see coming and the whole thing is written brilliantly. I could imagine all of the scenes too, the descriptions are all on point.

The author has worked magic because you actually end up feeling sympathy towards this absolute psychopath, that takes a true genius.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

Caroline Kepnes has done it again. Another great story with twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. She has me routing for Joe even though I shouldn’t! A well thought out plot with believable characters. It’s a great read but you do need to concentrate or you can get confused between what Joe is thinking and saying out loud. I don’t feel you need to have read the other books to enjoy this one, but some of the references to people and events will go over your head. I definitely recommend this book, I’m already desperate to read the next one. Thank you #netgalley

When I saw that Caroline Kepnes was releasing the eagerly-awaited third novel in her You series, I was itching to get my hands on a copy. Her first two novels about twisted Joe Goldberg (and the subsequent Netflix series) had me hooked from the start and I was anxious for the latest instalment to live up to the others.

Joe has given up on LA and Love Quinn, and settled down on the small island of Bainbridge in the Pacific Northwest. It’s not long before he meets Her - the love of his life, and he will stop at nothing to settle down with his own family.

We see a somewhat reformed Joe throughout this novel, determined to live Happily Ever After with Mary Kay and her daughter, and he continues to be the man we hate to love - needy, suspicious and intrusive yet you can’t help but root for him and his happy ending. The plot points come on thick and fast in this novel, and Kepnes has mastered the art of ending chapters on a cliffhanger, keeping me up reading later than I otherwise would have.

We meet a range of characters, old and new, in this novel, and honestly I found it hard to like any of them. But I was SO invested in their interactions and outcomes! At times the ridiculous nature of the plot twists had me rolling my eyes - as IF x y and then a would happen?! - yet I couldn’t put the book down.

My heart soared near the end to see that Joe was going to get the happy life he was always searching for until BAM - one final twist. It’s taken me a while to process, and left me with a slightly icky feeling, which is always the sign of a well written work.

If you loved the first two novels in this series, you are going to get completely suckered by this one too. Happy reading!

Thank you to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster UK for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I gave 'You' 5 stars. I gave 'Hidden Bodies' 3 stars. This atrocity gets 1. There were maybe 50 pages I didn't have to bribe myself to get through but the rest... You can tell that Netflix wanted a third series. This book wasn't written out of love for the story or the characters, it was money-grabbing. The 'Lemonhead' and 'Murakami' metaphor was nauseating; all of the characters deserved to die, even those that didn't; the stream of consciousness, first/second person nonsense was so try-hard, it was laughable and; the majority of the word count is the repetition of 'Mary Kay' and 'the shark inside my shark'. There was no real storyline and it ended abruptly and nonsensically, with a ridiculous 'twist' that I skimmed over because I was just so numb to the narrative by that point. It was left wide open for another sequel though so that's just great... Honestly, I am just so disappointed by this book and the selling out of the series. What a waste of a previously well-written villain.

Thank you to Netgalley and Simon and Schuster UK for the arc of You Love Me by Caroline Kepnes.

5 stars- this is the 3rd in the YOU series. Joe is back and better than ever before... he has moved to a small island which is off the coast of the Washington state and he is living a rather quiet life and trying to be the best and nice person he knows he can be. He volunteer's at a local library in where he meets the head librarian Mary Kay. There are some obstacles which stand in the way of him getting the woman he deserves and to win her heart. WOW JUST WOW! if you like You and Hidden Bodies then you'll love this one! By far one of the best ones in the series! well done Caroline Kepnes!!

I absolutely love this series of books – Joe is such a devilishly complex main character.
He’s a narcissist and delusional, he can paint himself as a victim and justify any kind of irrational, violent or unacceptable behaviour to himself which makes him capable of doing anything.
He’s moved to a cosy island community in hopes of starting a new life for himself and soon finds a new woman to bestow all his obsessive affections upon. Obviously it’s convoluted and a headf* but I’m not going to give away any specifics.

We retread some old paths in terms of his behaviour and habits, but he also shows that he’s been changed by his previous experiences. He’s an obsessive stalker who idealises a specific woman and shoehorns himself into her life until he’s her everything, and then systematically destroys everything she cares about when she doesn’t see that he’s the best thing that even happened to him. Being a boyfriend is no longer enough for him, he now wants to be part of a family which is even scarier.

The book is written in the first person perspective and reads like a stream of consciousness directed to Mary Kaye, the new woman in Joe’s life. As ever, his inner monologue seems so very, very reasonable while he justifies his abusive and insane behaviours – this is the bit that makes him such an irresistible character, getting to see inside the head of a charismatic narcissist and being made to empathise with him even though you know he’s the villain of the piece. The author has the uncanny ability to make you dislike the other characters even though they’re just regular people with regular flaws.
The only critique I can possibly make about this book is that by upping the ante in the series, I started to feel like all of the events piling on him were starting to become a bit much. It stopped just before reading the level of ridiculous, but only just.

I’m so excited to learn that there’s going to be at least one more book in this series, I’ll be grabbing this one on audio the second it’s released to add to my collection.

Joe is trying to be a better man in this novel. Although still obsessive and intense, he’s learnt to be more patient, more mature. He’s really trying!

After the events of Hidden Bodies, Joe has moved to a small island to have a fresh start. At his volunteer role at the library, Joe meets Mary Kay. He wants to win her over the old fashioned way, but things aren’t that simple, with massive obstacles popping up from all angles.

A little slower paced that the 2 previous Joe Goldberg novels, but with a more realistic plot than Hidden Bodies, I felt. I particularly enjoyed the character development, whilst remaining true to who Joe is. This book has a lot more of the humour I so enjoyed in the first novel, and the return to the original narration style used was great too- it really increases the feeling of intensity going on in Joe's head.

It was wonderful to spend a few back inside Joe’s brilliantly twisted little mind.

Massive thanks to Netgalley, the publishers and the author for an electronic ARC, in exchange for an honest review. What a treat!
You Love Me is released on 1st April 2021.

Genre: Psychological Thriller

Release Date: 1st April 2021

Joe Goldberg is back and he's done with Love. It's time for a fresh start away from the noise of the city and the ghosts of the past and get back to basics. Getting in touch with nature, working a simple job at the library - and then there's Mary Kaye, the librarian.

Beautiful, smart - and far too busy for him. She's created an entire life in this sleepy little town, as a mother, a friend, a woman. Sure, Joe could find a way to make her find the room for him, like she should, but he's not like that anymore. He's going to do things properly now, and when Mary Kaye realise they're soulmates, it's going to be the real thing.

In that classic You style, the third installment of Joe Goldbergs life is just as deeply, uncomfortably disturbing as you'd hope - fully of the spine-chilling, devilishly dark twists that make you check the door twice. Being inside the mind of a psychotic killer as he views the world, Kepnes has a strange way of making us frighteningly sympathetic towards our villian, desperate to know just what he's going to do next and if he really could be redeemable ... if only the right woman loved him.

Wickedly addictive and chilling, You Love Me is another terrifyingly fun chapter to the 'youniverse'

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thank you to NetGalley and Caroline Kepnes for an ARC in return for an honest review

Trigger Warnings: Death, Abuse, Stalking, Violence.

What can I say?! PLEASE WRITE MORE!!
I am a total fan of this author. I can’t bring myself to watch the show yet as I’m sure it can’t live up to the books. The psycho you root for? How does the author manage that! If you haven’t read the books start with You and you’ll be so pleased the sequels live up to the original. I’m sad I’ve finished this but they are definitely ones you can come back to I’m sure.

Who doesn't love Joe Goldberg - and You Love Me gives us him in his strongest antihero story yet. Determined to find love despite previous...setbacks, and escape his past, Joe has moved to "menopause" island and the object of his affections is a mother of one who runs the local library.

But with Joe, the course of "true love" never runs smooth and this latest instalment does not disappoint. With some brilliant characters - Phil, lead singer of failed 90s grunge band "Kurt and I hung out all the time man" Sacriphilus is one of my favourite literary personalities ever, Shortus - the friendzoned high school hook up and Melanda, the feminist best friend with an agenda of her own, it's the supporting cast that made this book for me, rather than Joe himself.

Although slightly lacking the original energy and razor wit of the original book, this is still an entertaining read and I'm sure like myself, Kepnes other legions of fans will snap this up. I also hope this gets made into a tv show.

I received this book from NetGalley and the publisher, in return for an honest review. This review is based entirely on my own thoughts and feelings.

Overall rating : 5*
Writing skill : 5*
Plot: 4*
Characters: 4*
Pace: 4*
Joe's Creepiness: 4*

(for context I rated You⭐️⭐️⭐️ & Hidden Bodies ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)

I was so excited when I saw that there was going to be a third installment, I had not had enough of Joes stalker ways. And boy was I not disappointed. I did worry I would grow tired of his weirdness, but actually I love him more as a character that he manages to keep it up time after time. The characters in this were were great, they all added a little bit more to the story (was not a fan of Beck & Peaches or Forty) and the twists and turns along the way seemed a fresh way of progressing Joes character. I'm now going to go a find out if there's a third season commissioned for Netflix. Fingers Crossed!

When I heard Caroline Kepnes was writing a new book for the “You” series, I was so excited that I stalked it on Netgalley with a dedication that would make Joe Goldberg proud. I loved the previous books and the Netflix series and I couldn't wait to see what Joe was up to next.

“You love me” reunites us with Joe after he is out of prison and he has become a dad. Once more, Joe’s much sought after happy ever after is just out of reach. Ever the survivor/optimist/fantasist, Joe starts a new life in a small community and a new woman catches his eye. Joe is determined to be good and this time it will be perfect, right?

I really enjoyed this book. Caroline's Kepnes' character is repulsive and compulsive reading just as in all her prior novels. True to form, Joe is willing to manipulate and eliminate any obstacles that get in the way of his happy ever after. He is up to his old tricks but it doesn't feel like a rehashing of the previous books, it's full of new insights into Joe's character and his development. Joe's devious actions act like a mirror revealing the secrets and the truth behind the masks worn in a small community.

Whilst it's true that some of the literary and cultural references in the book can be alienating (I had to google what a Mexican standoff was and I haven't read Murakami yet), the narrative and events in "You love me" mean it's a gripping read. Parts of the book are a little repetitive and far-fetched as Joe faces and then defeats one obstacle after another to try to get the girl. However, you have to admire the author's amazing writing skills in laying out all of Joe's faults -his obsessiveness, narcissism, entitlement, total lack of self awareness - and still be able to make the reader root for him. Perhaps it's because all of the other characters are so vile that he is the lesser of two evils.

"You love me" has everything you want in a thriller. There's dark humour intertwined with jaw dropping tension. There are complex characters and secrets and twists which sneak up and shock you. It's the perfect read if you love the genre.

Thank you to the author, Netgalley and for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

You Love Me by Caroline Kepnes
I give this book 3.75 stars

Joe Goldberg has moved.......
He gets a job at the local library – and meets and falls for Librarian Mary Kay DiMarco.Joe won't meddle, he will not obsess. He'll win her the old fashioned way . . .
The trouble is . . . Mary Kay already has a life. She's a mother. She's a friend. She's . . . busy.
True love can only triumph if both people are willing to make room for the real thing. Will Joe and MK live happily ever after......

We’re back in the mind of Joe Goldberg the weirdly lovable psychopath for the 3rd instalment in this great series. This book didn’t grab me from the start like the previous 2 did and l felt like it took me forever to finish it.That being said its still got that great storyline mix of dark and twisted.Caroline also provides a different dimension to Joe as he tries his hardest to become a reformed version of himself.....will he succeed? Go grab your copy and keep reading to find out.

Typically funny and engaging addition to the series.

Joe is back to his usual antics with the additional element of being bitter about what happened previously.

Read if you like the previous books and crime thrillers.

I read the books before You was released and loved them. This book is just as creepy and well written as the others. Fans of the series will love it!

Joe Goldberg is back. And he's going to start a family - even if it kills him. Joe Goldberg is done with cities, done with the muck and the posers, done with Love. Now, he's saying hello to nature, to simple pleasures on a cosy island in the Pacific Northwest. For the first time in a long time, he can just breathe.

I'm a big fan of Caroline Kepnes's work, and I had been eagerly awaiting her next book for what feels like ages now — so when NetGalley offered me the chance to read an early copy, I jumped at it. I am happy to report that this book does not disappoint in the slightest. If you are obsessed with the series, then there's no question in reading this. Perfect book and just one that makes you want to shout out loud about.

The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you very much to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

I love the fact that throughout this book I can totally picture Penn Badgley whenever Joe is speaking which brings his character even more to life than before.

The story is intense and at times feels suffocating but that adds to the tension. It's always worrying just what Joe is planning next!

I loved YOU and the follow up book but have not read either of them for some time and i feel that coming to this book i really did need to know the plots of the previous two in real detail. I think this would be quite a hard book for new readers to get into and for me it was a bit of a disappointment.
