Having loved Eva woods other book I was liking forward to reading this one and certainly wasn't disappointed. This was a very poignant and well written book of memories friendship and hope for the future. I enjoyed reading about the different types of memory conditions and how this theme ran through the book and was dealt with in a very sensitive fashion. This was such a poignant and heartwarming read. Highly recommend

What a wonderful book!

I loved the way the author juxtaposed the idea of a memory which is failing because of dementia, with one which is exceptionally good.

The novel is set in Sunnyside care home, following the story of Eve. There's a lovely cast of supporting characters from the staff to the lovely residents with their intriguing, touching stories. I especially liked the mystery of who Graham was. Eve is blessed with an amazing memory and endeavours to help the residents piece together their past. The arrival of Adam at Sunnyside is a more challenging puzzle. He's a handsome man who was found wandering on the motorway with no memory of who he was and how he got there.

In the alternate chapters, we learn about Adam's real life as Simon, through his wife Rachel. They have a young daughter named Hannah. Rachel believes she may have seriously harmed Simon, so instead of contacting the police, she hires a private investigator.

When the two stories come together, I found it very emotional. Eve' has fallen in love with Adam, a man who doesn't never really existed and Simon returns to a life which he was trying to escape from.

The author had me hooked from the beginning .. Eve is one of those characters who stays with you and has you rooting for her throughout the story. This book made me laugh and cry and was a lovely escape from the difficult times we are in.

I can't wait to read more by this author.

Eve and Adam. Two lost souls. Eve works in a care home and remembers everything. Adam has no memory of who he is or where he came from. As the two come together to try to solve the mystery of Adam, Eve will find a whole new life opens up beyond the care home. But what will happen when Adam remembers who he is and where will that leave Eve?

A well written compelling story. An excellent book from start to finish which is well worth a read.

I absolutely ADORED this novel. So well written, clever, characters that jump off the page and Adam and Eve lead such a brilliant story. The premise of Eve’s incredible memory and how she uses it in her work is so lovely and as someone who (as many people have) has dementia within the family some parts within the home scenarios were a little tough to read but so carefully written.

Beautiful book with a really unique premise.

She can remember everything. He doesn't remember a thing. Yet perhaps they can help each other.

Loved their journeys and the mystery that surrounded them both. It turned this romance into a real page turner.

I loved this book! There were several twists and turns where you were trying to work out what had happened to Adam and why he was running etc, and it was also interesting to see how Eve evolved as a person who was struggling with her past and thoughts of her worth etc. I wouldn't say this is a particularly light-hearted read, but it isn't by any means depressing, it's more of a realistic look at life but still manages to show levity with it

This is a very original and thought provoking read about the difficulties a young woman has with her inability to forget and the connection she has to a man with amnesia. Eve lives a very small life working for a care home where she is the managers personal reminder system and experiences through the staff the impact of losing your memory through dementia and she dies everything she can to help them remember. Adam come to the home as he has no idea who he is and needs to be in a safe place, Eve cannot help be drawn into solving the mystery of who he is. I really liked the dual perspectives this story is told in especially as the way it gradually reveals Adams story. Eve is a very unusual character but one you take to you heart and almost want to protect. This is both heartwarming and heartbreaking and the many ways it considers memory is very considered.
