Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this. However, I feel the biggest thanks needs to go to the author! Anything set in a book store is going to be a winner for me. I loved this book. The writers descriptions were clear enough for you to imagine the shop and the village itself. The characters were relatable with a few twists and turns (and a sexy farmer!) it kept me interested. Wouldn't hesitate to read another by the same author

As a fluffy, escapist novel this book ticked all the boxes. We have our heroine Evie running away from her messed up life in Chicago to come on a working holiday at a Bookstore in England. There she slowly falls in love with the idyllic little village of Alnster, the people who live there, and also a certain rugged farmer. But her life in Chicago is still there and Evie must decide what she wants to do with her life, and who she wants to be.

I loved Alnster and everyone within the quaint little village. It sounded like the perfect holiday destination! The villagers were all immediately friendly with Evie and, even though I rolled my eyes a bit at them instantly devulging all their deep, dark family secrets to a complete stranger, I did enjoy the fact that for once a tourist town was actually nice to a tourist! I’ve read so many books where a tourist village is very anti-outsider and so this was a nice change of pace. I also loved all the side characters, particularly Caro, Violet and Lucas.

Also Shadow–I adore dogs in books and he was the sweetest Great Dane ever (I just wish the dog on the front of the English cover matched his breed!).

In general I enjoyed this book, I thought it was very sweet, but I didn’t love it as much as I thought I would. Some bits of it were just too cheesy for me to take seriously. And other parts were jus plain boring.

I did have an issue with the main characters. I just couldn’t connect with them, and I didn’t particularly care if they got together in the end.

Evie is one of those busybody characters who needs to sort everyone’s life out for them. Now, if you like this type of character you’ll love Evie, but after a while I just started to find her annoying. Roane on the other hand was a little too perfect. There was a bit of insta-love in the beginning where Roane immediately infatuated by Evie and I found it really hard to get behind their romance because it just seemed unnatural. I prefer my characters slowly falling in love over time, and there wasn’t much of that here.

Overall though this was a lovely laid-back and easy read with little drama, perfect for a relaxed, cosy afternoon.

I read this over Christmas and absolutely adored it! Anything that involves a bookshop is a winner in my books! So obviously I knew I would enjoy this book, but it is genuinely a great rom-com! Evie is a great heroine and I loved Roane. Honestly, I think this could be one of the best rom-com of 2021! And I knew it's early to say that, but this was a great read!

"I do love nothing in the world so well as you."
William Shakespeare - Much Ado About Nothing

... Where to start... I just wanted and needed to read this book. It was on my TBR list for months now, and when I was approved for this ARC, I was happy as a kid on a Christmas day. I must say this book was nothing that I imagined it would be. Let's just say that I am such a huge Young's fan. And we all know that she writes hot, steamy and really spicy romance novel. But this one was a surprise, and not bad, not bad at all. I just love that this was sweet and cute, and vanilla read. Yes, ut has a lot hot scenes, but this was a true romance novel. I just fall in love with characters. I love everything about this book. Yes, I was expecting other shoe to drop. And I just knew what is going to happen ( I won't spoil it for you). But this one just gave me cozy and nostalgic feeling, like the romance novels once were...
...
"But only you can decide that Evie. The good thing is, you're here. You're not there. And you have time to make that decision. You don't have to make it right now. Just be here,Evie, with me. Your mum, Chicago, all of that... For once it can wait. Until you're ready. Just be here with me." He repeated in a whisper.
...

Evie is a such a great main character. For me she is just a perfect heroine. She is just smart, beautiful, compassionate, trustworthy and she likes herself.

....
" Do not ever apologize for liking who you are. It's beautiful mindset. And that asshole who cheated on you doesn't deserve to come in touching distance of your life. "
...

And there is Roane. Can he be more perfect?!
I just adore him. Boyfriend goals.
And him and Evie... Wow... They just clicked. They are just perfect for each other. I love how can you feel them falling in love...

...
"I wish you'd do something to make me like you little less."
...

The whole village, just love the whole vibe. And how close they all are. Yes there is always a rumor mile, but the love for one another is so lovely written.

And this made me to love more England, and small towns.

This was such a sweet read... This is a 5 stars read for me. Make me smile, make me blush, make me hope. Just a sweet, sweet read.

Thanks to Netgalley for this beautiful ARC.

I really enjoyed this book and devoured it in one sitting. Yes this is another rom-com, but where this stands out from the rest is that although like with most rom-coms there's aspects that are very unrealistic, the emotions, thoughts, and feelings written in this one are very realistic and that's what really draws you in. There are some x-rated scenes in it. so be aware if that's something you're looking to avoid, but you could just skip those parts as they add nothing to the story so you could just skip them.
