This is the second and last book in this young adult crime series.

I know I often do not respect the order of the books in a series, but I am glad I did with this one. You really need to read the first one first in order to understand what is being revealed.

Not only are there a lot of recurring characters and a few new ones too, but you have to read book two to find out about the secrets that were being kept in the first book.

As soon as you have finished the first part, I am sure you will do as I did: dive into book two right away. I really, really wanted not to be kept in the dark any longer.

I was really shocked when I found out who was behind the murder in this story. This is beyond despicable.

How cruel can you be?

Great book. 5 stars

Thank you

Dying to be her by Gregg Olsen and Narrated by Karen Peakes, is the second book in the excellent Port Gamble Chronicles series and I really enjoyed it. Especially as it was better than the first book. I was hooked within the first chapter and found it hard to stop listening to this audiobook.

This is a series set in the sleepy town of Port Gamble, which was formerly known as Empty Coffin,

Olivia Grant is a new foreign exchange student and has recently found a new friend called Brianna Connors. Brianna is throwing a big Halloween party from her family's plush home. Her parents are away on a cruise and they will never know.........Her high school friends etc are arriving to have fun at the party, including Olivia.

Olivia finds and starts on Brianna's father's craft beers, then shortly afterwards, Olivia goes upstairs to lie down, as she is feeling unwell. She falls asleep quickly and later wakes to find she's being attacked by someone and sadly her injuries are fatal.

Hayley and Taylor Ryan who are twins, possess psychic abilities and are pulled into the aftermath of the murder as suspicion grows as to who the likely culprit is. Danger is lurking around them and they must learn the truth quickly as the clock is ticking and their time is running out for them.

WoW...........I love these twins and I loved this audiobook.

I highly recommend it. But stick with the first book as the second one is so much better and just falls into place ready for this book.

Big thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for my arc.

This is the second book in a series about twins Hayley and Taylor who have an almost psychic ability to know/sense things that others can’t. The first book was just so-so for me, and this one was the same.

I don’t really love the psychic aspect in any crime novels. Add to that the spoiled, rich teen characters and the twins who dive into trouble and miraculously overcome, and this overall just didn’t work for me. The crime was fine, the plot was fine, but the characters in Port Gamble don’t do it for me. I won’t be reading more in this series.

I would rate this book 2.5 out of 5 stars.

I received both this ARC and an ARC for the first book in the series, Beneath Her Skin, at the same time. I had largely the same problem with this book as I did with the first - the writing is below paw and the teenage girl characters feel very much as though they were written by a middle aged man (which of course they were). The plot also could have been much tighter there were a few too many loose ends for my liking.

Not really my kind of book but it was well written.
Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to give my unbiased opinion

Not really my cup of tea, some interesting characters and plenty of twists but didn't keep me involved in the story.

**please note I will not be leaving a public review for this book as I have not paid for it, note that YA Genre doesn't interest me"

Reading Between the Wines book review #104/115 for 2021:
Rating: 3 🍷 🍷 🍷
Book 📱: Dying to be Her
Author: Gregg Olsen
Genre: Mystery & Thrillers
RELEASED on February 2, 2021!!!

Sipping thoughts: This is the second book with the clairvoyant twins Hayley and Taylor Ryan. There is yet another murder in Port Gamble. Olivia is murdered on Halloween night, and it seems so clear who the killer is. As you read, you will think you have it figured out but there are some reveals and twist that makes the reader think twice. In this book, we find out more about the twin’s mom’s childhood a little more about their abilities. I was sad to see that there were not anymore books in this series, Port Gamble Chronicles, as I think the Ryan twins is a very interesting series.

Cheers and thank you to @NetGalley and @Bookouture for an advanced copy of @DyingToBeHer.

Another really good installment and I really hope there will be a follow up as so many questions are left unanswered. Like the first book this is set in a quiet little place called Port Gamble, an English transfer student is brutally murdered and the story is all about how the killer is caught. I'm intrigued by the carter girls and loved finding out their mothers background too. Fingers crossed there will be a third book soon to tie up the loose ends.

This was the second book I read in the Hayley/Taylor Ryan series. I really felt like the first book really kept me guessing and was better at creating the characters and the overall story. This story was a lot of regurgitation of the first one and the actual murder was not fleshed out and just seemed thrown in so the sheriff had something to do. I really feel that the writer needs to work on writing as a woman and actually relating to actual thoughts and feelings that women have. It just seems to come across as them doing stereotypical things like working on their fashion and getting thongs at Victoria Secret. I definitely did not appreciate all of the drivel about their body image comments. I really wanted to know more about the twins and I feel that the story did not focus where it needed to focus to tell the story. Thanks for the ARC, NetGalley.

This book has a touch of supernatural in it. It was fast paced, told by numerous characters. It is the second book in the series but can be read as a standalone.

I read this book immediately after Beneath Her Skin, the first book in the series. Like the first book I really enjoyed it. The story is fast paced and well written and I enjoy the paranormal mixing with the mystery. Thumbs up from me for this YA.

Thank you bookouture and Netgalley for providing me Dying To Be Her By Gregg Olsen in exchange for my honest review.

I really enjoyed this YA novel. The second book I’ve read with twins Haley and Taylor Ryan. It kept me in suspense. A real “whodunit” with twists and turns.

Port Gamble is on edge when Olivia, the foreign exchange student, gets murdered at a Halloween party. A party that was attended by only local kids.

Thank you NetGalley for my ARC. This is the next installment to the Port Gamble series. The twins are likeable and the plot is perfectly paced. The supernatural elements add to this suspenseful psychological thriller. The story is entertaining and the adventures of the twins is superbly crafted as the mystery unfolds.

Geared toward YA, this book follows twins Hayley and Taylor who use their twin abilities to solve crimes. It’s mystery/thriller with a touch of esoteric/supernatural, which I think is a great balance. The plotting is easy to follow, and there are some great one-liners and asides that are “blink-and-you’ll-miss-‘em.” It seems as if there are only two books in the series and they were originally written nearly a decade ago. The author certainly moved on to different genres, but these were unique and refreshing. For a full review, please visit Fireflies and Free Kicks. Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for a digital ARC.

This is the second book in the series, and continues the story nicely. I love Gregg Olsen's writing style and can't wait to read some more by him. Recommended.

I have read quite a few books by Gregg Olsen before and really enjoyed them, so I didn't hesitate requesting Dying To Be Her. Unfortunately, what I didn't know was that the book could be categorized as a paranormal YA thriller. While the paranormal part didn't bother me so much, the YA part did. Nonetheless, I gave the book a chance anyway but couldn't get further than a few pages in and DNF. I think this book would be better suited to preteens.

A thriller with hints of the supernatural. This book had so many twists and turns, I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. A captivating plot with interesting characters that made for an entertaining read.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
