I love The Single Woman on social media and the authoress Mandy Hale definitely is funny and vulnerable and has many great insights to offer.
This guide deals with many mishaps in the modern dating life, but I’d say that it really is a book about the lack of true, healthy self love and how this manifests in the romance department.
As I said, the authoress has many great points to offer and I can definitely agree with many of them. But I also disagree with some. I generally think that growth can occur within the dark time (which the authoress agrees on, but I miss the angle of deep introspection here. Everyone has flaws and it is good to work on them, and the hard lessons from dating can pinpoint some of them). She also operates a bit too much from the point of personal insecurity and lack of self love, but there might be other factors, too.
But having said that, this still is a good guide. I would recommend to read it as one of the sources.

Mandy Hale is your best friend. She makes you laugh, holds you when you’re crying, and invites you out when it seems like nothing can get you out of the house. Don’t Believe the Swipe is a collection of how-to’s and how-not-to’s. Hale has you simultaneously guffawing and scoffing, thankful you’re not in these same positions or lamenting the fact that you’ve been there. The real power of this book is in its hopefulness. You too will believe in yourself and not in the hype.

Is the bar really this low for publishing books on singleness...? Yikes. The author thinks/writes VERY highly of herself and the book sorely lacks depth.

I thought this was going to be an informative dating guide so to speak for those who still wanted to try dating without all the new dating apps out there. However that wasn't what this book was. And it seemed like it was geared towards the younger generations.

This was a fun book to read. It is filled with real life experiences and encouragement on how to navigate the online dating world. There is humor and heart break that encourages the reader in your own experiences. I wanted there to be more biblical support and there was a chapter or two that I didn’t agree with but overall it was a good read.
