I enjoyed this continuation, however the story is moving along slower than expected and I prefer. It may just not be the type of book that pulls me in like my normal chosen titles

Wow. This was another wild adventure featuring Lincoln and Myla. Contagion is quite the adversary, and the form he takes is so odd and unique, yet Bauer manages to make it completely believable (even I have limits to my suspension of disbelief, but she managed to stay inside those limits). The story moves along quickly and smoothly, and I enjoyed following along as Lincoln and Myla faced down this latest challenge. There were a few twists, which kept things interesting, and made it hard to put the book down. Packed with adventure, danger, and unique characters, this was a great third installment, and I’m looking forward to book four!

I have given this 3 stars as I did not read this due to not enjoying the first book in the series. I do think a lot of people will like this series, however, this series just is not for me.

By no means am I saying that you have to go back and read SCALA or even Duty Bound or Lincoln, but that would make you fully appreciate the thoughts and antics of what you will encounter with Lincoln's new book. I found this one to be a great addition to the world of Angelbound.

Add this one to you shelf to read, currently reading, or read. For lovers of YA,NA, Fantasy, Paranormal will find this one a must have and a great addition. This one held lots of laughs expected and unexpected.

Welcome to Angelbound, where the people are beautiful and the fantasy runs hot. Christina Bauer has given us a world full of characters that keep us turning those pages long after lights out....good thing my new kindle has a long battery life. This story even includes a new villian supported by a team of sentinent trees. Angelbound is just one of Bauer's series. You cannot go wrong by diving into any of them. Just make sure your battery is charged!

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

This has been on my TBR pile for so long, and I'm glad I finally got around to it. I really enjoyed the storyline and seeing the characters change throughout the story was a great character development. The plot was great and kept my attention. I'm glad I got the chance to read this and will be on the lookout for more in the future!

Angelbound: Trickster – Christina Bauer

I was given a copy of this book by the publisher in order to provide an honest review.

Christina Bauer is an American author who writes many fantasy stories. Besides the “Angelbound Offspring” series she has also written the “Pixieland Diaries” and the “Beholder” series plus many more.

Yet again, this story focuses on the young couple, Prince Lincoln of the Thrax and Myla Lewis – the new great Scala Heir.

As they are trying to settling into their new lives, a little trickster, namely a magical orange monkey – ropes them into a scheme of his. But it is for a good cause – to stop an evil magical tree known as the Contagion from killing his loved ones, his lands and of course Lincoln and Myla’s world.

But as usual Aldred, the earl of Acca. Is sticking his nose in where it doesn’t belong and stirring up trouble for Lincoln and Myla. Seriously when will that guy ever get the message.

So now Lincoln and Myla must together, while being guided by a magical trickster monkey, stop the Contagion but also find a way to thwart Aldred’s plans once again.

“Trickster” is a short fantasy tale that is a cheeky and delicious read. It’s a book, and a series, I think many YA readers would enjoy. Lincoln and Myla are just like any other typical young couple, minus the whole magic, angel and demon elements of course. Though the story is short the author is able to engage the reader with writing relatable characters and having a storyline that instantly grabs the reader's attention.

A continuation in dual POV that is fast paced and delves deeper into the relationship of Lincoln and Myla. We go alone on the journey with them to fight the Contagion. And, we get to see how their relationship continues.

Christina Bauer brings a whole new slew of characters into play in Trickster.

I will confess, yet again, I love hearing Lincoln’s voice along with Myla’s. I will also confess to having a clue where Bauer was taking us with an alternate smoke sequence. (You’ll get that more when you read the book. The point? I love how Bauer can still manage to surprise me.

Trickster is filled with twists which is apropos seeing the title. Nothing is as it seems, yet it is. I will say that I was highly disappointed in Lincoln’s mother, Octavia, in this book. Damn, I always thought she was totally team Lincoln/Myla. Like I said, Bauer can still surprise me. There is a mystery in this story and I didn’t get it until it occurred to Lincoln too (chuckle).

Once again this book, the third in the Angelbound: Lincoln series, is filled with action, witticisms, and the foundation of what makes Lincoln and Myla that battle couple to root for. We face a familiar enemy, but I was curious where this enemy was going in their plan for domination. There is some satisfaction in this quarter, but it is minor (chuckle).

I will commend Bauer for an excellent recap of what has happened and where we are in the Angelbound series as a whole. It was smooth and well blended into the storyline.

Trickster is a fun romp featuring my favorite battle couple. I can’t wait for the next one.

I received a free copy of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.

Between the different personalities of Myla who is pretty much a hot head and Lincoln who gives a whole new meaning to calm and the action this book is non-stop! It's told from both of their points of view so you get to know them both very well! They really are the definition of opposites attract! All of the books in this series are fast paced with lots of adventures and action! Great read for anyone who loves fantasy books!

That escalated quickly, what a weird and wonderful concept to add to the Lincoln story? I enjoyed this and I think I'll read it again at a later date, it's nice to see the development of Lincoln's character.

I love this series and these books, but sadly this one I thought wasn’t quite as good as previous books, it seemed to lack a certain spark the other books have had. It’s still an enjoyable read overall, but just seemed a bit less magical

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

The third installment of the Prince of the Thrax Lincoln. This feels like a good coming of age story for Lincoln and Myla especially for their relationship. Now engaged the couple faces trouble from the Earl of Acca who decides to test Myla's suitability as future Queen. Teaming up with a magic monkey Peli the Earl takes them to another world where he plans to steal Myla's magic and life to make himself all powerful. The only problem is that Peli is a trickster and we don't really know whether to trust him or not. Lincoln and Myla must trust each other as they fight for their relationship and realise that they don't need to change to please others. Will they finally defeat the Earl? Will Myla be accepted? Will they survive? Whose side is that little trickster really on?

Looking forward to the next instalment in Baculum

I really feel like I should've read the Angelbound series before I started this one... Having enjoyed Bauer's other works, I requested this one from Netgalley without much thought, which I now regret.

Because this is a prequel novella, the worldbuilding is pretty fuzzy. We're sent into this with the assumption that we know the races and politics of this world, which wasn't true for me. It wasn't a big deal, but I would've enjoyed this much more if I would've understood everything

But, the real thing that killed this for me was the insta love. I hate insta love, and it was even worse than usual in this one. I mean, our characters never actually spoke, but Lincoln was convinced he was in love. I still plan on reading the next two books, but I wasn't all too impressed by this one.

Thanks to Christina Bauer and Netgalley for providing a free copy in exchange for an honest review!

A disappointing book

I'm sorry to say that I did not enjoy this book. I mean, the last one wasn't it, but this one was worse. I thought it would be better because I wouldn't always be in Lincoln's head, but as it turns out, I don't like being in Myla's head either. The story was boring and extremely repetitive. The two characters are way too similar and I really didn't connect with them. The villain was ridiculous and I still don't get why he did what he did. I have to admit that the universe is pretty creative, but it's about as much good things I can say about this book. I had to force myself to finish it and only the very short chapters helped me because I felt like I was going through it faster.

I'm really sorry, but it definitely wasn't for me...

Just finished reading the wonderful Trickster, where we follow Lincoln & Myla to battle the one known as Contagion.
In this book we get to hear the voices of both our main characters, seeing things from their perspective and the experiences both have.
We get to see the relationship between Lincoln and Myla deepen. Already looking forward to the next instalment.

I love these books and I really enjoy having both characters points of view. I just love this mischievous couple they seem to cause as much trouble as they fix. I definitely recommend this book and this series. The book is very well written and the characters are very lovable or hateable depending on who it is I seriously wanted to stab Alfred and his daughter myself.

Another good installment into this series. Once again showing a good working relationship between Myla and Lincoln. This book takes place before they are married and his people have not accepted her yet.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for my eARC in exchange for an honest review.
