I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide me review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

A hilarious and slightly terrifying look at the intersection of modern technology and the effect it has on relationships. Nutting's writing remains matter of fact in tone despite the absurdity of the situations she's describing and she had me laughing throughout. The interchanging story lines worked really well given their nature and almost acted like a palate cleanser for each other, making the sum of the two strands greater together than on their own.

I love Nutting's writing, and will always read anything that she writes.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

I had a strange feeling about this book from basically the first page. For me, it didn’t get better. It was weird on almost every page and I was constantly questioning if I had read it right. I’ve heard many good things about ‘tampa’ so won’t throw this author onto the ‘do not touch’ pile just yet.

I remember I enjoyed Tampa, it was illicit and disturbing and fun. This isn't really any of those things, it reminded me of some 2010-2015 cult scifi, like Beautiful You, The Heart Goes Last, kind of Black Mirrory weird with no emotional heart. The plot is thin, the themes confusing and the satire, of Google/Facebook/Space-X, not as clever as it thinks it is. A couple of moments, especially the fall in their first meeting, were distinctly from Fifty Shades. I have no idea what the dolphin fetish was about, it was so odd and unnecessary. I'm surprised this is being adapted for Netflix, upon release in 2018 it was clearly forgotten, for it is forgettable.
