While I admit that I always like Leslie North books, I liked this book best of all of hers that I have read (which is a lot). This book was sweet, believable, a quick and easy read and heartwarming. This book includes a marriage deception for convenience that turns into a true marriage based off mutual respect, admiration and love for each other. Throw in a darling 6 year old girl that was abandoned by her mother and who can resist such a great story? Patrick & Imogen made the best couple and I really enjoyed getting to know them in this story.

I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions stated above are mine without biases.

Book was lacking heat and chemistry.
Imogen started off judgmental and closed off. And Patrick was too rigid and seemed to keep people at arms length.
there was a couple of scenes in the book I just did not get or believe, for instance the part where she just starts telling Patrick that she is in Witness Protection and why. I mean she really didn't know Patrick and this was like the fourth time seeing him and she just spills her guts on everything. And at the end seeing each other again they just profess to love each other. There was no lead up or thought process.
I just didn't feel it with this book. I was very disappointed.

This is book 1 in the Hartsville's Seal Heroes series. Patrick returns home from a 6 month deployment to discover his wife has abandoned their 6 year old daughter into the foster care system and disappeared.Ellery's teacher, Imogene, has been trying to help the little girl and Patrick thinks the best solution is for he and Imogene to marry. This book is fairly stereotypical for a navy seal story. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Actual rating: 3.5 stars

Navy SEAL Patrick Nelson is home after a 6-month overseas stint and eager to see his 6 yr old daughter Ellery. When he goes to the school to pick her up he discovers that his ex-girlfriend abandoned her and she is now living with foster parents. Imogen Mendel, her kindergarten teacher can tell how upset he is and offers to help him. After meeting with CPS, he receives temporary custody of Ellery but is ill-equipped to deal with her outbursts and mood swings. Patrick is a protector by nature and when he discovers that Imogen has been receiving threats to keep her from testifying in a criminal case, he wants to help her. Jokingly she suggests they get married and he agrees. She can help him learn how to parent Ellery and in turn, he can keep Imogen safe. A win-win for everyone, right? Good storyline and wonderful characters.

Fabulous read. I loved this book and the characters were so charming and readable.
SEAL meets school teacher who has a secret. For convenience the two of them marry and try and raise his daughter Elery.
The sparks start to fly and soon it’s not a convenience thing but a passion between the pair.
A beautiful love story with a forever after

When coming home from deployment, the one thing you don't expect is to find your girlfriend, the mother of your child gone and your daughter in foster care. When he finds his daughter's teacher Imogen, is being threatened, Patrick can fix both of their problems. He can marry her and protect her from the threat, and gain his daughter back with a stable home. A sweet story that can be read by all age groups, the chemistry is there, but the development of the story is a bit of a miss for me. ** I was gifted "The SEAL’s Convenient Wife" via NetGalley, leaving my review based on my reading.** 3.25 Stars!

Great action-packed story!! Leslie North has winner with this one...and it's a fantastic start to a new series. The storyline is great; the characters are well developed--and Ellery tugs at your heart from the very first page; the plot twists and turns are awesome. Another happy ending that ultimately makes your heart sing!

For some reason this one was just not as good as her other books. Don’t get me wrong, it was still very good, but I felt it was just missing something

Leslie North consistently brings great characters and passionate romance to life. As a big fan North's, her name provokes an automatic one-click from me. I am always entertained.

This was a great marriage for convenience book. I really like both our main characters. I love how protective and amazing was Patrick with his daughter and how he did everything for her to be safe and happy. Imogen it took me a bit to warmed up to her but I really like her by the end.
This is one of those book you'll devoured in one sitting. So if you want short and sweet this is for you.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was another hit from Leslie North. I love North's SEAL heroes and Patrick was no exception. Such great characterization between him and heroine, Imogen. It was endearing to watch Patrick fall into the role of being a father and how Imogen helped. Such a great story from a talented author.

This book is about a Navy Seal trying to get custody of his daughter and a teacher trying to stay safe from the threat of an ex-boyfriend. They get married in order to help both of their situations and ensuing events happen very fast. I was bothered by the fact that this would have a lot of real-world implications that were never addressed. And the rapidity of how the story unfolded is why I didn't give it a higher rating. However, I did like the chemistry between the 2 characters, Patrick and Imogen. I would recommend this as a good beach or airplane read.

A convenient marriage was exactly what I was in the mood for so this was a perfect fit. It was an easy read with likable characters. I doubt I would ever reread this book but I will definitely read the next book in the series.

I received this arc from Netgalley for an honest review:
Another beginning of a three-book series about Navy Seals. Here in this book, Navy Seal Patrick Nelson comes home from his mission only to find out that his daughter has been placed into foster care because her mother left her at school and then just left, all while he was out of the country.
He has to go in front of the board of child protective services to see if he can get custody of his daughter. He first is able to visit his daughter with her kindergarten teacher their Imogen. Later in the story, Patrick and Imogen come up with a romance to hopefully sway the board in his favor, but it also becomes more. Of course, by the time you get to the end, it felt a little rushed. I will say though it was a fast read.

This was my first Leslie North book and I really enjoyed it. I grabbed it because I love marriage of convenience books and I'm so glad I did.

It wasn't a brand new or unique storyline, but it was very well done with just the right amount of suspense built in. I liked how it was also a combination of marriage of convenience and bodyguard. And I loved the chemistry between Imogen and Patrick and of course I fell in love with little Ellery.

I really liked that Imogen didn't let Patrick off easy. She wasn't afraid to tell him what he was doing wrong. I also loved how protective Patrick was of Imogen.

Sometimes backstory in a novel feels like a filler, but in this book North used it to really give depth to both main characters, but especially Patrick. His childhood greatly influences his adult life and gives him a lot of space for growth.

I did feel like the happy ending came a little too easily, but at the same time closed the kindle satisfied and I look forward to more by this author.

I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley. This is my honest review

I feel like the plots of these books get more and more unbelievable with each publication. What bothered me the most about this book was the premise that Patrick would marry Imogen as part of the you help me, I help you setup - he's trying to prove he's a good parent who will keep Ellery safe so he invites a woman who is the victim of harassment by probably very violet people into his home? I don't buy it. Her getting kidnapped by the bad guys fit with the usual structure of these books, but it felt so forced and unnecessary.

Story was ok, tamer than I expected. Sexy scenes weren't all that for all the SEAL hype, but maybe that's because this is about people caring for a kid? The brief drama/action that did take place with some goons and our heroine was not as exciting as I thought it would be, especially since you'd expect more with SEAL in the title.

Maybe it's because North's books are meant to be a quick read and not deep? I haven't read enough from this author (I read 1 in 2020 and 1 in 2021 so far) to figure out what she's trying to serve up, but can only suspect it's to produce books plentifully and quickly. Pretty much as soon as you complete one from this author, another is available on NetGalley.

I am a fan of the marriage of convenience trope so to me this is a sweet, enjoyable story about two people, Patrick and Imogen, who get married to help each other out of two completely different problems. Because there is an underlying attraction already, they grow to love each other and end up wanting to stay together permanently. It’s also about his little girl Ellery though, who of course is how they meet and end up together to begin with because Imogen is her teacher. Poor little 6 year old Ellery has been through so much, so she can certainly be quite a handful as a result. And of course there is much more to their story, some sweet, some sexy, some emotional, some not so sweet, and some even scary, that keeps it interesting and very entertaining.

Thank you to the publisher via Netgalley for this book!
