One of these days I am going to close myself off from the entire world except maybe UberEats and read every single book in this woman’s backlist because her stories are powerful! They’re not just entertaining in the moment. They stay with you and percolate in your brain until you can’t percolate anymore and begin anew. That’s actually exactly what happened with this book LOL Like literally what happened. See, I’m not just an MC Romance Fiction fan, I’m also a fan of this author. As soon as I knew this book would land on my kindle, I started at the beginning. If you know anything about this genre, then you know the story of the club starts with book one and moves forward as the books release. It is never just about the people. The club has a storyline that needs to be followed and more often than not, everyone is in everyone’s book LOL (pretty much). SO, I’ve already met Kevlar in previous books but I’m a little OCD and I wanted to make sure all the details thus far were fresh in my mind before I started his story. Hence, the starting anew :)

That brings us to today and me telling you how ridiculously happy this story made me. Kevlar’s past is tragic and very much a part of his state of mind present day. Jovie comes into the picture with her own baggage and it is not light. Their connection is almost instant but not easy to hold on to. Again, lots and lost of baggage. However, even knowing everything Kevlar and Jovie brought to the table, their story was not one of despair or deeply riddled with angst. It felt like Sunshine :) to me. It felt like hope. It had its moments of sorrow, but the sunshine always won.

In true Osborn style, the story will keep you on your toes. There are plot points that are unexpected and even the ones that were expected are exciting. She has a way of unfolding a story that keeps the reader engaged. She’s an author anyone who enjoys this genre should be reading!

This is the third book of the series and I recommend reading them in order just so you get the relationships happening. This is Kevlar's story. As with the previous heroes, he has a past with a lot of baggage. He doesn't feel himself worthy, especially of the woman that occupies his mind and his time.

Jovie wants Kevlar but he is holding back on her. Many parts of Kevlar's past start showing up and Jovie either needs to be clear of him jump in with both hands and let him know how much he is loved.

Much of the story focuses on the main couple. Very little MC action in this one but the brothers and their women are always there to support.

Great addition to the series. Can't wait to see who is next.

This was just an okay read for me. I found myself skimming and I just wasn't drawn in to the couple or side characters. I wasn't a huge fan of Jovie and some of the side characters. In the end, it was just another read, that sadly I won't remember much about.

I think there were too many moments that just didn't make sense or fit the characters. Moments where I felt like the author was trying to make it more than it was. Like when Jovie finds out he has kids. It just felt uncomfortable. I think that is actually this entire book for me.. So many moments that just felt uncomfortable, and unnatural.

I will definitely give this author another try, but sadly this just feel short for me.

This is the first book in K.Bromberg’s multi-authored Everyday Heroes World. Howevr I will say that I enjoyed it. This is the story of firefighter Carter Collins, and ER nurse Natalia Vasquez.

Carter lost the love of his life and his brother two years prior to where we are in this story. He is still struggling to move beyond that tragic night. Natalia is struggling as well. Nothing has been going right for her. Her apartment catches fire and afterwards she accepts an offer from an elderly woman to move in with her. The women ends up being none other than Carter’s grandmother.

Carter and Natalia are both attempting to figure out if they can have a relationship. Carter is broken and Natalia has her own issues. Things aren’t easy and I love the way they navigate their way through the heartbreak to find something special.

I’ve been eager for Kevlar’s story since his appearance in the first book in the Houston Defiance series and it didn’t disappoint. Whilst Kevlar’s story is not as dark as the previous two books in the series, this title still had it’s fair share of drama and action.

Both Kevlar and Jovie are well developed and complex characters, who are both escaping their lives when they cross paths in New Orleans. The chemistry between this pair hot and steamy, and their banter is witty, fun and flirtatious but also quite heartfelt.

Kelvar is a former cop who turned his back on the law for love and joined the Houston Defiance MC. He’s a loving father, but is heartbroken and lost after the loss of his wife, that leaves him a single father. Kevlar is my kind of hero who is kind, protective, caring and compassionate and incredibly loyal to both his blood and chosen families.

Jovie is a sweet, strong, compassionate and brave heroine, who is also incredibly understanding and loving, particularly when it comes to Kevlar’s two young children.

A title of love, healing, hope and new beginnings that I highly recommend and I look forward to future additions to this series.

4.25stars--FUGITIVE is the third instalment in KE Osborn’s contemporary, adult HOUSTON DEFIANCE erotic, MC romance series focusing on the members of the Houston Alliance MC. This is former cop turned biker Liam ‘Kevlar’ Rudd, and waitress Jovie Hannon’s story line. FUGITIVE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as there is an ongoing premise throughout.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Jovie and Kevlar) FUGITIVE follows the building romance and relationship between former cop turned biker Liam ‘Kevlar’ Rudd, and waitress Jovie Hannon. Jovie Hannon, along with her best friend Savanah are on the run but a stop over in New Orleans finds Jovie up close and personal with biker Liam ‘Kevlar’ Rudd, and Savanah spending the night with music IT phenom Rush Dayley. Kevlar is a man in hiding now that he has been targeted by a dirty cop but Kevlar struggles in the years since his beloved wife’s death, and the battle between head and heart as it pertains to his two young children, currently living with Kevlar’s brother Ethan. Meeting Jovie stirs something deep within our story line hero, something he long thought buried and gone but all is not well in Jovie’s life, as she is only one step ahead of a syndicate desperate to pull our heroine into their family run organization. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Jovie and Kevlar, as Kevlar brings both Jovie and Savanah back to the Houston MC, and the potential fall-out as the past comes back, h*ll bent for fury, demanding everything and more.

The relationship between Jovie and Kevlar is one of immediate attraction but Kevlar continues to struggle in the wake of his wife’s death. Unable to move forward, Kevlar is conflicted with his feelings towards our story line heroine, and in this Jovie is unsure as to her future with both Liam and the Houston Defiance MC. Jovie Hannon is a strong-willed heroine who has spent most of her adult life on the run, trying to avoid capture by the Slavers Syndicate, a family run group that is determined to take Jovie, at all costs. Jovie never expected to fall in love, let alone fall in love with Liam’s children, and in this Jovie is determined to protect the children and the man that she loves. The $ex scenes are sensual, seductive and steamy without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including members of the Houston Defiance (Houston Defiance MC: Club President Krew ‘Zero’ Walker and his old lady Rayne aka Cherry: Zero and Prinie’s younger brother Koda; Phantom, Kevlar’s brother Ethan, Fox and Bub, Texas, Neon, Chains and Chills (Dr. Rebecca), and their son Kobe, as well as prospect Luc, and his girlfriend Ruby, and attorney Finley Knight. ), New Orleans Defiance and the Chicago Defiance (Torque, Chains) MC Chapters. We are introduced to Jovie’s best friend Savanah; music IT wiz Rush Dayley; as well as Jovie’s brother River Hannon. Savanah’s story line is next in the multi-authored REIGN anthology.

FUGITIVE is a story of family, friendships and relationships, betrayal and revenge. A story of loss and love, grief, acceptance and moving forward. The premise is gritty, captivating and entertaining; the romance is heavy and hot; the characters are vulnerable, lost, energetic and charismatic. FUGITIVE is a wonderfully exciting addition to the Houston Defiance MC.

Awesome MC Read!!

Now here’s a book that grabs you in the first few pages already having you reaching for tissues and ripping your heart out. Fugitive is so well written that you feel everything that Kevlar and Jovie go through. It has you falling in love with Kevlar’s kids as much as Kevlar is. I loved this storyline along with the rest of the happenings.

As we know from the previous Houston Defiance MC book, Addictive, Kevlar is in hiding with the Baron working to take him and his cop brother, Ethan down. Kevlar makes his way to NOLA to revisit the brothers of the Defiance Brothers MC while in hiding. Good thing he was hiding in plain sight because that’s where he meets the beautiful Jovie along with her friend Savannah. While Savannah hooks up with rock star Rush, Kevlar and Jovie begin to hit it off…the only thing is that Kevlar has a past love he is still dealing with and Jovie is hiding from people who want to destroy her as well.

I loved this book because it had everything any MC lover would want. The Houston Defiance MC was hard core and that meant that they also had hardcore enemies. The brothers, themselves, were a true family and you felt it in the writing. And let’s say that the chemistry between Kevlar and Jovie was “fanning” worthy. A war was coming to the Defiance MC’s door and it was unclear at that time if the MC would be able to protect the ones they loved with three big club enemies coming at them all at one time.

I highly recommend this book along with the rest of the Houston Defiance MC series. Also if you love MC romance you definitely want to check out the other MC books KE Osborn writes.

Fugitive is the third book in hte Houston Defiance MC series and the second that I've read. Like the second book, Addictive, the characters here blur the line between good and bad. Kevlar aka Liam was once a cop. He gave it all up for love, having fallen in love with the daughter of MC members, but three years ago she died, leaving him alone. Since then he's had a hollow existence, not really even doing much more than surviving for his two young children. When he meets Jovie, the light finally comes back into his life and he starts to think that he might have a future.
This is a learning to love again story, at least from Kevlar's point of view. It takes him some time to come to terms with having feelings for someone else and alongside everything else that he and his brothers (both in and out of the MC) are facing, it's dealt with well. I liked the way that he wasn't suddenly all in, but had to deal with his conflicting feelings.
Jovie also has all kinds of baggage to deal with. She might not have a previous relationship that is effecting her, but her upbringing certainly has an impact.
This was an exciting and gripping romance that ultimately left me satisfied with the outcome. I hope that there is more to come from the Houston Defiance. It certainly seemed that there's another story to come, with the way that things were left here.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Motorcycle clubs, mafia and the decadence of New Orleans! This book can't help but be intriguing. The characters are multi-dimensional. They aren't perfect but they all have reasons for their flaws. I know he wasn't the lead but I was especially fond of Kevlar's brother. It was a fast paced romance with danger at every turn.

After reading about Kevlar in the previous book, I was dying to know his story. Boy what a story, it was! I lost all track of time reading. The action and suspense had me stuck to my kindle. I was rooting for Kevlar and Jovie. Hoping the MC could eliminate all threats heading their way. As well as needing to know more about these fantastic characters. It was a really addictive read. I can’t wait for more of this series.

4.5 STARS!

Ooo-wee! Kevlar’s book did not disappoint. Cop turned biker?! Yeah you know there’s going to be an interesting story there.
Such a character driven storyline, and one full of growth. I truly appreciate Osborn for pacing Kevlar when it came to his feelings, to moving forward, and giving him time to sort out his emotions in regards to Em and Jovie. It made it all the more authentic. A beautifully told story of love, finding peace, and new beginnings.
Well paced. Told from dual points of view. Yeah okay, a few predictable plot points but the suspenseful atmosphere is steady throughout with plot twists that WERE surprising to see.
Overall, a completely gripping MC romance story full of depth and such heart. Not only has Osborn created such a vivid world that’s expanding with each new book, she’s included relatable, imperfect characters you can’t help but love and root for. This has become one of my favourite second-chance romance books to date! Although part of a series, it can be read as a standalone, but I still highly recommend you read the previous books first to get the full picture of their world.
An amazing addition to the Houston Defiance MC. Already looking forward to reading the next one!

While this book can be read as a stand alone I do feel you will enjoy it far more if you have read "Explosive" & "Addictive" as you will then have the back story that makes Kevlar the character that he is

Kevlar(Kev) was a cop who fell in love with a MC presidents daughter this led to him handing in his badge and joining the MC Even though is wife has since died he is still loyal to the club This loyalty has led to trouble and he needs to disappear for a while so he heads to New Orleans to lay low While there he meets and is attracted to Jovie She is also running from her past and his protective instincts say he must help her. He takes her back to Houston when he returns Will he realise that he has now got a chance at having another love You will have to read to see

Fugitive is Book 3 in The Houston Defiance Series and is tge story of widowed, ex-cop Kevlar and Jovi. I have read every single book in The Defiance Series so far but this one hit me in the feels more than the others and it isn't as dark as some of the others. All your favourite hot, alpha bikers feature and I love the way their characters are written and how they interact and their stories are intertwined. If you like MC books I highly recommend you pick this series up, you can just read this series BUT if you love the characters as much as I do, read The Chicago Defiance Series first - you will nit be disappointed

3 1/2 Stars for this MC romance!

I liked Kelvar and Jovie ... I just didn't love them, even though the chemistry between them was off the charts. Jovie just fit right in with the club even though she didn't come from the MC world. I found all the characters were very confusing ... there were even characters from a different series that I haven't read. Also a lot of them had 2 names ... their given name and their MC name. It would have been nice to have a legend of all the characters and then it would have been easier to follow.
