Thank you to the author, NetGalley, and Lake Union Publishing for an Advanced Reader Copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Publishing July 6th, 2021, No More Words is the first of Kerry Lonsdale's new trilogy that should surely be on everyone's radar this summer.  The story follows a family and their secrets, dysfunction, and betrayal. The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat, eager to find out what happens next. Kerry Lonsdale's books have the perfect balance of mystery, thrill, and romance, and this book is no exception!!  Most of the burning questions were answered by the end of the book, but there are a few loose ends that need to be tied. I'm excited to see how the story comes together over the next two books in the series. Some family members we only got a glimpse of--can't wait to get to know them more in books 2 and 3!!

No More Words, by Kerry Lonsdale, which will publish on July 06, 2021 is an alluring must read for your summer 2021 "to be read list". No More Words is the first book in a series about a subversive American Family who are so very "picture perfect', yet utterly dysfunctional. The story is written to take the readers on a who-did-it type mystifying trek. It is an intricate weave of how lies, selfishness, and deception can ruin a family. It is also the story of how love and forgiveness can make a family strong enough to weather the very fiercest of storms. I particularly enjoyed the development of nephew, Josh and Aunt, Olivia's relationship develops and grows. Kerry Lonsdale will keep you guessing through the entire story, until the last chapters are wrapped, and then desiring to have the next book in your hand immediately to see what happens next. Kerry's lovely imagination does not disappoint in this thriller, giving the reader incredibly strong feelings of prediction, exhilaration, and disquiet.
Thank you to Kerry Lonsdale, Lake Union Publishing, and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book. I look forward to reading the remaining books in this series more than I can express.

Olivia is a woman who has been betrayed, by boyfriends, by her sister and by her parents.  Reeling from the latest betrayal she opens the door one evening and finds her nephew Josh, whom she has never met.  Josh is the son of her estranged sister Lily and still recovering from a recent head wound and surgery he had difficulty reading, writing and speaking.  Lily is missing, Josh cannot explain what happened to her, or even tell Olivia her current name or phone number.  Olivia, must help Josh find Lily and in doing so, will unravel her family secrets and uncover the biggest betrayals of all.

This was my first book by Kerry Lonsdale and there was a lot really liked about this book.  The plot was inventive and Olivia showed incredible growth and compassion.  I also really loved the way Josh's difficulties were handled and discussed.  However, I didn't feel like I got to know anyone in the book besides Olivia and Josh, and there was a lot of brand name referencing that felt jarring during the narration.  Additionally, readers should be aware that this is the first of a 3-book series, and while many questions are answered, there are a number of loose ends that are not tied up by the end of this book.  I will keep my eyes peeled for the next book in this series, because I do want those answers!

I've read every book that Kerry Lonsdale has written and she just keeps getting better. No More Words is the first book in a trilogy about family and love but most of all it's about secrets and how the past affects the future.

The novel begins in the Summer of '95 when the three Carson children get dropped off at the lake home of the Whitman family. At the time Olivia is 8, Lucas is 6 and Lily is 3. Summers at the lake are idyllic and the children spend all of their time outside enjoying the freedom and the time they spend together. Years later when they are adults, the fun that they had together as children is gone and they are no longer close. Olivia is an artist, Josh has spent time in prison and Lily has run away and no one has heard from her in years. This is book 1 in a new trilogy and is Olivia's story.

Olivia is a well known illustrator and is afraid to get close to anyone emotionally. Josh is a 13 year old boy who turns up at her house and she is shocked to find out that he is her nephew. Lily got pregnant at 15 and when her parent's insisted either an abortion or an adoption, she ran away and no one in the family knows where she is. Once a year she sends Olivia a letter with a picture of Josh but that is the only contact that they've had over the years. Josh is terrified when he gets to Olivia's but due to a recent accident and aphasia - he is often unable to find the right words to use and is no longer able to read or write. He isn't able to tell Olivia what happened to his mom except that she is gone! Josh is an artist beyond his years and Olivia attempts to find out what happened to her sister by using Josh's drawings as a road map. The more that she tries to help Josh, the more she learns about her family that make her question everything that they had ever told her. Will Olivia somehow be able to find Ivy so that the three siblings can become a family again?

Warning - before you start this book, make sure that your calendar is clear because I can guarantee that you won't want to put it down until the end. I can't wait to read the next two books in the series to find out more about Olivia, Josh and ivy and their quest to become family again.

Thanks to the author and net galley for a copy of this book to read and review. All opinions are my own.

I liked reading about the presents I like the name Blaze. He is given a second chance and uses it to send dirty pics. It's hard to keep track of.

Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy. I have been a fan of Kerry’s books, so I was excited to see a new book. I had a hard time liking the main character, Olivia. I will admit that I liked her more as the story progressed. I am happy that there will be 3 books - there was a lot left answered! I’m giving this 3.5 stars.

Disclaimer: This is a three book series, which follows the lives of three siblings.I have been hooked on Kerry's work since the very beginning. No More Words kept me just as hooked and I can not wait to finish this series.. Olivia has always been a daddy's girl, and her sister Lily is always ruining her things like little sisters do, but is it her little sister or is Olivia about to uncover things about her family that she is not going to want to hear. This book definitely kept me turning the pages. There is a fair amount of heat on some of the pages between Olivia and Blaze, once Olivia gets out of her own head she realizes what Blaze means to her. Olivia's bond grows with her family in ways she didn't think were possible, and falters in others that should have been long burned like bridges. I did not want to put this book down. A fantastic edge of your seat read.

This book read like a fifth graders "what I did this summer " essay. We went to the beach. It was warm. The sand was hot on my feet. I got sunburnt. Needless to say I only made it a few chapters in until I couldnt take it anymore.
