I have to admit I struggled a bit with the to begin with, I didn’t feel it was made very clear who/why some characters were there and I found the opening scenes rather childish, ie the characters were behaving very childishly. But I pushed through to see where is was going and am glad I did.

Implausible and I kind of admire that the author completely ignored the elephant in the room, but the characters grew on me, 3 intertwined love stories, one real, one ghostly and one the story of a great love past. It’s well written, the scenery added to the overall feel and the brush fire added drama. Overall a good first novel.

Jamie lives with her aunt Kate on their vineyard that they inherited when Kate's partner Nora died, Kali, Jamie's best friend also lives with them as she recovers from her break up with her controlling ex. The relationship between the three women is developed well and entertaining to read. One night Ruth, a ghost of a young woman who was murdered on the property many, many years before, appears to Jamie in very real form and Jamie finds herself attracted to Ruth. Their relationship is explored further in the book much like a romance between two people would be, including physically and sexually. An interesting concept but I found it hard to suspend my disbelief especially at the ending. I much preferred the other story lines of Kali's struggles to date again and not let her past get in the way of her future. I'm adding an extra star for the way the author explored Kate's grief and loneliness, showing an older lesbian is a story that we don't read much and it was interesting and resolved well. Lots to like in this book alongside the whole relationship with a ghost...

Sweet story. I was a little disappointed with it. I was hoping for a little more focus on the ghost/human relationship. The book basically told two love stories so they each felt a little sparse. I am glad I read it but not one I would read again.

This is a strange book and I’m not sure I warmed to all the characters or the concept. I found Jamie a bit bland and Ruth just didn't work for me. I adored Kate and her struggle as a widow to manage the vineyard and help her young friends while mourning the life she had dreamed of. Jamie is hurting after her aunt’s death (Kate’s partner) and knows she needs to find a way to finance the improvements and work needed on the estate.

Ruth is a resident ghost who cannot leave the boundaries of the vineyard but I just didn’t find the whole concept that credible - if that is a word appropriate to a novel with a ghost.

There is some great writing here, especially towards the end when the characters are driving (no spoilers here) and the short snappy sentences really raise the tension and have you concerned for how the book will end.

I was given a copy of this book by Netgalley in return for an honest review.

This is a fast read about a group of people, very different in their interests and life experience, who meld together to find friendship and love.

A touch of the paranormal is added to make these love stories come together.

Good world building and interesting characters.

Contentment. What does a person need to feel content? Is contentment enough? Should a person want more? What is more? Contentment is defined as a state of happiness and satisfaction. This was my thought while and after reading this book. The description caught my attention and I was uncertain what to expect. The pull is not there for me to read paranormal stories. But I decided to give this one a try. I am kinda glad I did. In my opinion, something was missing. I am unsure what.

There are three women with broken hearts and three stories that connect with each other. Kali Parker, heartbroken after a tough break-up. She is not interested in risking her heart. Jamie Carr, owner of a struggling vineyard. She may or maynot be looking for an emotional connection. Kate Spalding, widower, owner of a struggling vineyard. She is not looking for love after her wife passed away. Although she is lonely. Ruth the ghost is frustrated and has highs and lows with her presence on the vineyard.

Each voice was heard throughout the read which was good and not good. Good because the reader heard first hand about what each person was thinking and feeling. Not good because all of the characters were strong and likeable and there was a lack of information depth for all of them. I wanted to know more about Ruth. The ending left me wanting.

Jamie Carr inherited a vineyard in California. Helped by her best friend , Kali, and her aunt’s surviving lover, Kate, they are trying to make a go of it together. Oh, did I mention there is a resident ghost, Ruth there too? Ruth has lived there for fifty years and has watched the group from afar. Although they are aware of her, they’ve had no real contact, until now. One night, with a full moon in the sky, Jamie sees her – and realises something startling. She finds her attractive, and the feeling is mutual. But a relationship between and ghost and a human can’t work – or can it?

I enjoyed the group camaraderie and the dynamics between he different women. The setting was interesting and I liked getting to know about the area. The love story was convincing and I liked the two main characters. ‘Share The Moon’ is a story of love, friendship and passion, with an unusual couple at its centre.

Three and a half stars. This book fell just a little short of what it seemed to be promising.
First, the narration. The roles of the characters were messy, because not only did we see the perspectives of more than just our heroines, the first narrator of the modern portion (post chapter 1 flashback) was Kali, the best friend. It was quite confusing when we switched to Jamie as the narrator, and I had to refer back to the book description to understand who she was. Other than Kali, we sporadically see sections from Kate's point of view, and once, even from a minor character. I can't fault the author for wanting to give every character some depth, because it worked. The side characters had their own neat arcs. I liked Kali and Victoria, and I thought the author could have taken them out of here and given them their own story. Yet in such a short book, it was all over the place. The author would have needed a lot more space to give each character enough attention, and switching back and forth between narrators was just unusual for a romance.
The ghost part was lacking mainly because Ruth only seemed like a ghost when it was convenient. She was visible to everyone, although she could actively make herself invisible. She could talk. She could touch. She could consume food and drink. Her main features as a ghost are the lack of aging and being bound to the property. Having her this way felt a little gimmicky, and missed out on what I imagine are the most interesting aspects of having a relationship with a ghost.
The plot itself was fine, if a little rushed due to all the subplots. The main romance went a little too fast at the beginning. The 80% conflict was decent, although I think Jamie might have reacted better than she did. The ending just seemed to undermine the ghost aspect again, although I guess that would be somewhat true in any HEA of this nature.
It was a decent read, downright great for a debut, but I'm eager to see the author improve from here.

Sometimes with debut authors you can tell that they have good ideas, its just poorly executed. This is the case here, with the book following three women as they rebuild an inherited vineyard after a beloved family member dies. They each have to navigate their grief while also dealing with the property and their romantic pursuits. This is the start of a great idea, but it just falls flat, especially with Jaime, our kind of lead character, falling in love with the resident ghost. Now this I don't mind, but it just feels out of place, since Ruth has almost all the basic mannerisms of someone from this era despite having died in the early 1900s. I am aware that Ruth watched over the vineyard, but there are some things that someone might have trouble with, especially since Ruth seemed to be very isolated, and never really interacted with people before Jaime.

On top of that, there are some huge pacing issues where the plot seems to jump around and mild dramatic moments explode without much warning. Then there's the fact that, while this feels like a romantic comedy, the living people don't seem to just be as weirded out by the fact that not only can Ruth manifest herself visibly, but she can feel solid to the point that she can be intimate with Jaime. But when she vanishes her clothes, they go back on in an hour. So much fun stuff could be had with this, but not done.

To be fair, all of the characters are fun to read about, especially the three living leads. They all have their issues with their relationships with Kali playing the role of a Casanova that is lovestruck by a local woman, Kate the wise older woman who is dealing with the death of her partner, and Jamie who's sworn off relationships till she meets Ruth. I love their dynamic, whether they're being goofy or supportive. There's this lovely running bit involving a sex toy and the main house's terrible wiring that sets up their relationship right at the beginning that was just hilarious every time it was brought up.

I see some really good ideas here, but I think this is just a little too rough around the edges for me.

"Share the Moon" basically contains 3 lesbian love stories told against the beautiful setting of a vineyard:
1. Kate and Nora: depicts a mature love that is cut short after the death of one partner. Does love too die out?
2. Kali and Victoria: depicts a new dreamy love almost bordering on lust. Does such love work in the long run?
3. Jamie and Ruth: a paranormal love between a human and a ghost. Can such love sustain itself?

Needless to say, it was Jamie and Ruth whose story intrigued me the most. The closest to a human-ghost love recently was in Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas, and I was hoping that "Share the Moon" delivered equally well. But this book arrives at its finale with too many loopholes and unexplained plot holes. At the end, I found the Jamie-Ruth love story plain weird. Ruth seems to have an odd mix of ghostly and humanly qualities, depending upon when the author requires which characteristic.

The premise of the book is good. I can't help but wonder how this story would have been in the hands of a seasoned writer. There was so much potential to the idea of falling in love with a ghost. How I wish "Share the Moon" could have delivered on its promise!

Oh, and I also wish there had been a mention of the erotically explicit writing on the book details page on Netgalley or Goodreads. The summary made it sound like a sweet paranormal romance but boy! Was I surprised right from chapter 1! I'm not a prude but I like to know in advance if a book goes over the top sexually. I felt like I was reading a lesbian version of Mills and Boon where lust dominates the narrative. Might work for some, didn't work for me. I've long passed that age. After a point, the explicit sex scenes and the repetitive reference to hardened nipples just got on my nerves.

In fact, the entire book felt like it was trying too hard, not surprising for a debut author. There are too many main characters and to do justice to each isn't a joke. I wish new authors didn't succumb to the pressure of writing everything they want in their first book itself. This book would have done much better had it focussed only on one love story and kept the others as secondary characters.

There are a few positives to the book also. It is a quick-paced read and has a lot of humorous moments. The vineyard descriptions are beautiful. I enjoyed Kate and Nora's love story the most. One line that I really liked was: “Life would be pretty goddamn boring if we all colored within the lines.” These factors make it a one-time read.

This is a paranormal book about three friends who live together on a vineyard. We have Jamie who falls in love with the resident ghost, Ruth. We have Jamie’s best friend Kali who finally decides to settle down with one woman and that’s the woman of her dreams, Victoria. We also have Kate, the surviving lover of Kali’s late aunt Nora. This means we essentially have three stories crammed in one book with so many characters, I lose track of who’s who at times.

The storyline is creative, less a couple of random bizarre moments (which I’m assuming Logan was trying to go along the lines of funny or different). I like their individual love stories, some more than others. But the pace was so fast and so many things happened at once, Logan couldn’t develop some parts properly. Kali’s relationship for example, progressed so quickly, I didn’t even see it coming.

Of the three love stories, I was most drawn to Kate’s, and I wished I had more. In fact, I think each storyline in the book deserves a full story of its own, which I’m confident Logan would have been able to pull off.

This was a different kind of lesbian romance. The story begins about 100m years ago and then goes to present day. The characters really bring out their emotions and makes a really good read. Jamie, Kali and Kate inherit a vineyard after Kate's lover dies of cancer. There is a ghost on the property which they called Charlie but is really a girl named Ruth. The plot is good and different but a great tread. Each of the women find their love in different ways and it is really sweet. I recommend this book for lesbian romance lovers. I recived this book through NetGalley as an ARC but my thoughts and opinions are my own.

3.5

I enjoyed 'Share the Moon' but it was lacking something, maybe more ghostly going on's? It's a very quick paced storyline, things happen very quickly which normally I need a bigger build up towards the event, but I still found this story enjoyable. It's a romance between a ghost and well, a none ghost, you also meet a few other characters in the story which I really wanted to know more about, fingers crossed for a possible series of these characters? who knows?
In short, I enjoyed the story, so if you're after something a tad bit different, including a bit of a romance in it, this story is for you. It is a bit on the short side tho, I think this is possibly one of the reasons why I didn't give it a higher rating.

Jamie Carr inherited her aunt's vineyard, which is set back in the hills of Northern Califonia, whom she shares with, with her best friend Kali and her aunt's surviving lover, Kate, they try to make the vineyard a success before it goes bust.
Ruth has been stuck on the vineyard for over a century, she's the resident ghost who never wanted to be there in the first place. As time has passed by, owners have come and gone off the property, and if the three friends who now live in the old victorian house are any indication, things are about to get a lot more interesting. Ruth is intrigued and decides to introduce herself to Jamie on a full moon night and the attraction between the pair is instant.

I enjoyed some parts of this story, but I mostly feel like there was too much going on. I liked that the four main characters – Jamie, Kali, Kate, and Ruth – are all tied together by the vineyard they call home, but I had trouble getting invested in any of the romances.

I requested this book because I was excited to read a human/ghost love story. Jamie and Ruth are sweet together, but I felt like their romance was a little too perfect and angst-free, considering that Ruth is a ghost who died a traumatic death and Jamie has to grapple with loving someone who isn’t mortal. I would have loved reading about Jamie and Ruth discussing these difficult topics a bit more.

The story of Kate and Nora touched my heart, and I liked how Kate was determined to keep Nora’s memory alive by keeping the vineyard alive and allowing other lesbians to enjoy it. I enjoyed the snippets of Kate’s POV and think they added depth to the story and setting.

I had the most trouble getting invested in Kali’s storyline. She’s Jamie’s friend who’s living at the mansion, but until the end I felt like she was rather randomly placed in the story. I think this book would have been much better if Kali’s POV had been cut out entirely, leaving the POV focus on Jamie, Ruth, and Kate. Honestly, I just didn’t find her interesting enough to be a main character and her relationship with Victoria made me feel…nothing.

This is a sweet novel with great writing and interesting characters. However, I think there's too much going on for such a short book. Gripes aside, I can see that Toni Logan is a good writer and I will be checking out her future books.

Share the Moon by Toni Logan is a very different romance than the kind I usually read. That is not a bad thing. We should all stretch our reading preferences sometimes, and I’m glad I did with this book. I enjoyed reading this story, though I feel there are a few problems with the tale.

This is a paranormal romance between a ghost named Ruth and Jamie Carr, one of the owners of the vineyard that Ruth is haunting. This is not the only romance in the story though. We also learn about the rather bittersweet love story of Jamie’s Aunt Nora and her partner Kate. We see this couple’s tale mostly through flashbacks and memories. Then there is the romance between Kali, Jamie’s best friend, and Victoria. Here is the problem I have with the book. There are three romances all thrown into one fairly short novel. That’s just too much. The focus should be on Jamie and Ruth. Nora and Kate’s love story actually fits in pretty well and helps to enhance the overall tale. Honestly though, Kali and Victoria’s tale doesn’t help the story that much, and takes up space that should be used for Jamie and Ruth. I never thought I’d say a book has too much romance in it, but that is what happens when Kali and Victoria are added into this story. There are a few things left unanswered, especially concerning Ruth and Jamie. Perhaps if there had been less focus on the third couple, those things could have been included.

I believe this is Ms. Logan’s debut fiction novel. In spite of the problems mentioned above, this novel is a good first try, and I have some high hopes for future novels. I’m giving this book a 3.5 star rating.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books for an honest review.

This was okay. The story was nice and it was decent for a debut, but I never really connected with the book like I hoped. I picked this book because of two words, ghost and vineyard. Give me paranormal anything and I’m up for it, plus I like romances that take place in vineyards. So the premise was there for me, the problem was there was just not enough grabbing my attention.

This book is on the shorter side. It’s a little less than the average BSB book. I think it being shorter both helped and hurt the book. Since my attention wasn’t grabbed like I was hoping, I was glad that the book moved pretty fast and that it was a quick read. On the other hand, this book was told in the POV of the four main characters and a little time was spent in another character’s POV too. I think if the book would have been in just one or two POV’s, it would have worked so much better. The problem was just when you started to get to know one of the characters a bit, it would change and you would be in the head of a different character. With the book being short, I felt like I only had time to get to know everyone a little bit, instead of really connecting to one or two characters.

I have read a few romances about people falling in love with ghosts. Each author tends to write a different take on it and I was excited to see how Logan would tackle it. (If you are interested, I think the best way was done my Mildred Gail Digby in the book Stay.) Unfortunately, I don’t think I was as crazy about the way Logan handled it. The ghost felt a little too human for me. In fact, she felt so human that I almost wondered why make her a ghost? I was also a bit disappointed that a loose end about the ghost was never wrapped up. It felt like a missed opportunity that could have added something interesting to the story.

There are two romances, well technically three romances but one is in the past in flashbacks, in this book. I thought both were just okay. The ghost/human romance was sweet, but it seemed too close to insta-love for my tastes. The other romance added a tiny bit of angst, but I had trouble really caring about it. This is a main character who’s POV we were occasionally in, finding her dream woman. I think she should have been a secondary character, not a main, and we could have enjoyed her romance from afar instead. Again, having too many main characters and POV’s kept the romances in the okay category instead of having one strong romance.

In the end, I really think the problem was the author wanting to do too much with too many characters. One or two strong main characters are so much better than five so-so ones. I’m going to chalk this up to a newbie decision and hope that Logan can make her main characters shine in her next book. I thought her writing was good, I just think she handcuffed herself with her characters and story choices. Still, even with my issues mentioned, this was a perfectly nice, low angst read. I would read Logan again and I will definitely keep my fingers crossed that she would stick to only two POV’s in her next book.

Share the Moon was for sure an interesting read. The topic was uniquely strange and on the supernatural plain. I picked this one to read because I didn't know how one could fall in love with a ghost. That is just exactly what happens in Share the Moon. Ruth has been stuck on a plot of land for over 100 years. She has gotten there because of something terrible that happened. In present time the land is now a vineyard that is now owned partially by Jamie and her aunt's partner Kate. They both live on the land with Jamie's best friend Kali. All three have seen the ghost Ruth but Jamie is the person she actually has a conversation with. And so the story goes.

This story was interesting and a tad odd. You really have to get over that fact that Ruth can become a solid form. She can touch, eat, feel etc. Once you move past that you can see how the relationship between Ruth and Jamie grows. The mains have chemistry and actually get to know about each other. There is also a bonus love story in this one with Kali falling in love. The one thing that I was really caught off guard with is the events that lead up to the ending. It was just really odd to me. Also, I was really hoping to find out more about why Ruth was stuck on that land. I wish this was explored more. Either way, I was kept entertained while reading this romance.

3.5 stars.

This is the first book by this author that I have read and won't be the last. I loved the main characters and the secondary characters. This book was really interesting and I loved the idea of a ghost in a vineyard. This book was funny and romantic in some parts and heartbreaking in others. I would definitely read more books by this author and I would recommend this to anyone who loves a romantic lesbian ghost story.

Well.....This is sort of a strange little story. Jamie, Kate and Kali live and work on a vineyard that Jamie and Kate jointly own. Kali does their marketing and other things.
Ok, now here's where it gets a bit strange. The vineyard has a ghost named Ruth. (There's a whole back story that explains why they have a ghost...it's a bit strange too) Ruth isn't a scary or mischievous ghost, she just sort of hangs around and she can't leave the property. Jamie is attracted to Ruth....the ghost. Without going into too much detail....that is the main romance part of the story. A few exciting things happen, some good some bad. And there is one really well written and exciting car ride but basically a very low key strange story. The writing is good, the dialog is good, the characters are likeable......But the storyline is....as I said....strange. AND the epilogue is even more crazy.
Suspend your disbelief on this one, beginning on the first page.
