I wasn’t sure where this book was going in the beginning I was a little mad because I loved the first one so much and the romance behind it. So when he leaves her in the beginning I was confused but so glad I kept reading. I can’t wait for the third book and what new prophecy is in store.

Book two of the trilogy of Petra, a doctor working in a MASH unit taking care of the wounded from the battle of the old and new gods. Book one had the romance of Petra and Galen, this one has her old boyfriend Marc showing up. Liked the first book better, but overall a good story. Look forward to the next and final book.

The Transylvania Twist is the second installment in author Angie Fox's Monster M*A*S*H series. The Monster MASH series takes place in and around a paranormal MASH unit during a seemingly endless war between the young Gods and older Gods who have been fighting since the fall of Troy. Petra Robichaud and her colleagues at the MASH 3063rd have been drafted until the end of the conflict, or until they die, which is bad for Petra but even worse for people like her vampire roommate, Marius.

They’re living in this quirky, ad-hock camp, trying to make the best of it while they work long hours in the OR, putting soldiers back together – knowing that they’re probably going to see these injured heroes again and again – if they’re lucky. The underlying tragedy brings the oddball personalities in the camp together. They develop ways to keep their sanity and to create the kind of relationships that offer a port in the storm. PNN (The Paranormal News Network) is the news outlet covering the war.

The doctors, nurses, and support staff at the MASH 3063rd watch it on the only television in camp, a beat up, 1970's cabinet model that is set up in the mess hall. PNN covers important stories like Mayan Insider Scoop! Developed Armageddon “Prophecy” After Tequila Bender; and Five Things in Your Lair That Can Kill You. This story begins with a surprise guest, a stunning breakup, and the return of someone who was supposed to be dead.

First since the synopsis already tells you that Medusa shows at MASH 3063rd. She calls herself a Goddess, executioner of men, scourge, and surprisingly, pregnant. This is the same Medusa who turned her mother's lover into stone. Petra is lucky enough to be Medusa's doctor. If lucky means you have to avoid looking directly into her face for fear of being turned to stone. As we learned from the first book, Petra is a healer who can see the dead. Gods have outlawed her gift but luckily only a few people know what she can do. If the Gods ever find out about her power, she’ll be in mortal danger because of a prophecy about someone with that power being able to bring peace and end the war.

One of them, Galen of Delphi, Commander of the Green Hawk Specials Forces Unit, exists stage left and goes back to the war front in order to protect Petra's secret from getting out. This comes on the heels of a new prophecy. "The peacekeeper will find love as a hideous new weapon is born." The other is Father McArio who has tried to help Petra since she nearly destroyed her former hometown. To make matters even worse, Petra's former fiancé Marc who was drafted 10 years ago, is alive and well and working for the enemy.

Uncomfortable! He’s also a shapeshifting silver dragon. Marc arrives at camp to ask Petra for assistance. This assistance leads to a discovery of a devastating new weapon that the gods are working on that could kill all humans on Earth. Can Petra sneak into enemy territory and make it back alive and in one piece? Even if she agrees to help Marc, can she really trust a man who has already broken her heart once before? Things are about to get complicated. Oh, did I mention that Marc also knows Petra’s secret? Holy headache, Batman!

Petra is a curious character. Petra is part Fae part human who specializes in the paranormal. Petra is still a great heroine; she isn't the strongest person - especially compared to the supernatural creatures she is surrounded by - but she is brave and intelligent. Being reunited with her supposedly dead fiancé brings up a lot of emotional conflict for her in the midst of trying to understand the alleged prophecies that she’s supposed to bring peace. Her tent-mates are a broody vampire named Marius and a vegetarian werewolf named Rodger, both of whom are great side characters. If you read the previous story, you know that Rodger was able to go home and visit his family. But now he’s back with his entire Star Wars collection!

There’s more than enough action in this story as well as some very tense moments. I am looking forward to reading Werewolves of London which I have already been given a copy to read and review. I want to see how the author fixes the issue with Galen and Marc and Petra without it being over the top and expected. I would like to thank Angie Fox, NetGalley and Moose island books for this ARC. All options are my own.

The Transylvania Twist by A. Fox is book two in the M MASH Serial. This book is not a stand-alone. I recommend to read the books in order.
D. Petra Robichaud, a halffairy was recruited as surgeon in the war of immortals. She woks at a MASH camp with no hope of returning to her family.
Galen, the demigod from the first installment just broke it off with her and he's up to war. Petra is the center of a fast paced whirlwind, her co-workers are pnr, she discovers a new weapon, saves warriors at her operating table,---- lets just say she has her hands more than full. And now, surprise, surprise her ex, Marc, shows up after 10 years she believed him gone forever. And the dragon shifter has a new case for her.
TTT is a highly entertaining, unputdownable, read in one sitting book, I devoured the story, cover to cover, in one sitting and can't wait what happens in the final installment.

Even if it's the second in a series it can be read as a stand alone.
I l had a lot of fun, appreciated the world building and the fleshed out characters.
A highly entertaining and engrossing read that I recommend.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

This is book 2 of a trilogy, and despite not reading the first book, this one was still easy to follow and understand. Based on the description, I was expecting a bit more romance? But it was still interesting. It was really slow paced for me though, and kind of hard to stay focused on. The character interactions are fantastic though! I loved their relationships and seeing the tension and friendships. I'll definitely be going back to read the first book!

Despite this being book 2 if a trilogy I was able to read and enjoy it as a standalone. Following Dr and scientist Petra who is trapped in Limbo fighting for the new gods in the millennium old battle between the old gods and the new. She is gifted with unique hidden abilities which mean she is the prophesied peacemaker. Forced to work with her first love and fellow Dr Marc who is on the enemy side to find and stop a weapon to wipe out humans. Working together to try to do the right thing is not always easy when fighting your feelings. Transylvania twist is a fun adventure with a great character set. I look forward to reading more by this author.

I read the 2021 version offered through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. I hadn't read the first book, but had no problem picking up with book 2. Apparently, this was previously published and, based on some of the reviews, has been changed. There was one or two brief bed scenes I believe with all action off page. PG at most, nothing excessive, graphic or unusual as I read in a couple reviews.

I was looking for a light, fun read which the title and romantic comedy description lead me to expect despite the war and MASH setting. Yeah, no romance despite a former lover popping up, and no comedy what so ever. I guess the roommate with a passion for action figure and bobble head collectibles and a pregnant Medusa were supposed to provide some comedy, but didn't. Despite the lack of romance and comedy, I did like the setting and it had an unusual story line and a wide variety of paranormal types which I enjoyed.

The title is misleading, Transylvania is mentioned once and really impacts the book in no meaningful way. The description mentions more pet swamp lizards too. Were there any? I can't recall any.

I did like the setting and overall story line, but the lack of romantic comedy left me short of liking the book. There also a very abrupt ending which didn't help either.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing me an opportunity to read this book!

Compared to the first book in this series, I thought it was ok. It brought back the main character’s old love interest - while I thought unnecessary, it did tie up some loose ends and give some suspense for what the next book will be about. The book was definitely slower because of this and I didn’t feel like there was anything new to be learnt other than the relationship between the main character and her old love interest. While I did like the book, it wasn’t as eventful and interesting as the first one. I hope the next book will pick up the pace, especially if the love interest from the first book shows up!

I started off thinking I was going to hate the direction this one was going. But it was so worth hanging in there! Petra shows so much growth in this one. The prophecies keep coming and the odds are terrible. I love the determination and strength of Petra. And by the end I really liked Marc. So now I'm torn. There is action, suspense, humor, angst, romance and so much more. I can't wait for Werewolves of London. I'm completely invested in the characters, the plot, and this amazing world Angie Fox has built.

I loved this book. I had tears in my eyes many times while I read it from laughter and sorrow.

When Petra gets dumped by her Greek boyfriend an hour before he leaves for a mission, the last person in the world she ever expected to see again is her presumed-dead former fiance, Marc.

Marc supposedly died 10 years ago, something she never got over. Now he works for the enemy and needs a big favor from Petra. She has a secret gift that only 2 people know about, she can talk to spirits. Now Marc needs her to use that gift on enemy lines to talk to Marc's colleague who was killed while working on a weapon designed to destroy the world.

When another prophecy is delivered, Petra knows that it's now up to both of them to see it through to end this war, or die trying.

A must read!!

A unique trilogy from a favorite author and after reading this crazy installment, I can't wait for the ending. Well done as always by Angie Fox.

This is the second book in the Monster MASH trilogy and I have to admit to enjoying this book a lot more than I did the first. I feel that the characters came into their own and I was no longer comparing them to a certain medical comedy. I love the relationships Petra has with her tent mates, treating them almost like they were her brothers. Marius is a lot more fleshed out this time round if I can use that phrase describing a vampire! He’s more of an older and wiser brother looking out for her whereas Roger is most definitely the younger one you want to kill at least once a day. When a blast from the past rears his head Petra soon finds herself fulfilling another prophecy albeit once again unwillingly.

The plot itself surrounds the topical theme of the day with a virus that could wipe out all of mankind but I did find the beginning of the story a bit abrupt with the sudden disappearance of Galen with very little explanation and there is a part of me that kept expecting him to pop especially when Petra was off on her adventure but no such luck……. I wonder who’d win in a duel between a shape-shifting dragon & a not so immortal demi-god?! I also loved several of the secondary characters, especially the pregnant Medusa who’s snarly behaviour made Petra’s bedside manner appear like she was full of the joys of spring and I’m hoping to hear about her in the third book.

I really loved this book. It's an Urban fantasy with a twist. A little bit romance, mystery and a lot of witty storytelling.
The world and the characters are memorable. It's a fun story about a doctor at a M.A.S.H. unit located in Limbo. The Gods are at war but a tentative peace has broken out. There's a chaplin with a pet hell hound, a sci-fi obsessed werewolf, jealous Goddesses, a pregnant Gorgon and they aren't even the main characters. Petra is a brave dedicated doctor, her love life is a crazy mess and she has a prophecy breathing down her neck. Her heart is newly broken and she hasn't even had time to grieve when her 10 years dead boyfriend shows up to complicate things even more.
I am excited to have discovered a new author with so many books to read.
I would like to thank Angie Fox, NetGalley and Moose island books for this ARC. All opinions are my own.

Part 2 of the saga of Dr. Robichaud and the MASH unit. This installment finds the battles increasing as the team looks to curtail another prophecy while dealing with some god's and goddesses as patients, namely Medusa. You will laugh slot and cheer our heroes on. This is not the end of the story. There will be a part 3. Who will triumph? Who will survive?

The Transylvania Twist by Angie Fox is an unusual and intriguing paranormal romance; it is set during a war between old and new gods, and most of the action takes place in MASH units. It is as much a war novel as a romance, but the action is all paranormal. The narrator is a doctor ground down by the tragedies of the operating tent and her grief over a dead lover, and to add to her burden, well, it seems like she needs to save humanity…

Characterization is good, even for the minor characters, and I enjoyed the continual action of the novel. I did not predict most of the plot twists. The Transylvania Twist is the middle book in the Monster MASH trilogy, and Angie Fox is a prolific writer, so there are more books to look forward to reading.

I received this ARC via Netgalley and Author Collective 20/Moose Island Books, in return for an honest review. While the second book in this series, it is readable as a standalone. Dr. Petra Robichaud is a human surgeon, conscripted into the New God Army and destined, unless something dramatic happens, to live the rest of her life in a MASH unit stationed in the dry, dusty, barren landscape of Limbo. When Petra and her immortal lover, Galen, break up because he’s sent out on a possibly deadly military assignment, Petra turns to her work to keep her going. Aided by her two roommates, one a vampire and one a married werewolf, she’s trying to keep things going during the first significant truce in the Old and New Gods’ war. A truce, I add, that she and Galen brought about in book one. Now that she’s on her own again, Petra’s astonished when her thought-long-dead fiancée appears and dressed a doctor for the Old Gods army. Even realizing that she’ll be tortured for eternity if they find them, she agrees to help Marc with a poltergeist problem at his MASH unit by going absent without leave (AWOL) from her MASH unit. Things go from bad to worse because the poltergeist was a respected doctor, killed for his work on a deadly weapon. Now, Petra and Marc join forces to find and prevent this weapon that can destroy all human life, on Limbo and on Earth.
This book is a fun homage to the book and TV show, MASH. The author has done a great world building adventure and really built it well. I enjoyed the first book so much and was delighted to be approved to read the second. I did think this book’s resolution was a bit rushed, but it did come together and sets the stage for what I think is the final book in this series. I recommend it.

M*A*S*H Mobile Army Surgical Hospital. When a mostly mortal surgeon is drafted into a MASH unit that serves the wounded paranormals involved in the war between the gods, it's a good bet there is going to be a great story to tell. And tell Angie Fox does. Our mostly mortal doctor, Petra, is now solidly entrenched in a unit populated with vampires and werewolves and fae....not to mention the immortals fighting on both sides. The backstory is definitely unique and the comical situations pile up quickly when your enlistment never ends. Camp pranks run hand in hand with the actual saving of lives. This book is VERY entertaining and I will be watching closely for the next one.
