And Sarah does it again. Another great book, amazing characters and as always well thought out. I was on the ride with them, great read

I usually love a Sarah Morgan, but unfortunately this one disappointed me. It seemed to ramble on a lot, and the characters were larger than life which is definitely not a trait of this author. She has written many books around the theme of Christmas, which are much better than this. The Summer Seekers fails to capture the same atmosphere, and I was not very enthralled by this story. This is the exception to the rule though, as mostly her books are brilliant!

Lovely feel-good sunshine read, with plenty of adventure and emotional depth.

Kathleen is a retired TV travel presenter and force of nature. Her daughter Liza is self-reliant, dependable and puts everyone else first. Martha is young, disillusioned and desperate for her life to change.

A shock encounter with an intruder sets off a chain of events involving a trip on the iconic Route 66 and leading all three women to look into their hearts and reassess their priorities.

This was a really good read. Easy story to follow, charming setting and great characters. Really enjoyed it.

Brilliant. This was a well written book that I greatly enjoyed and already plan to recommend. Believable characters and an inticing setting. Some parts were perhaps a little lengthy, but maybe because I was impatient to reach the novels conclusion! Thank you Netgalley for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Fantastic book! I have really enjoyed all the Sarah Morgan stories I have read and this one was no exception. A great story line - oh, how I hope to still be travelling like Kathleen when I get to 80! - and I loved Martha! She was such a character and had a lovely way with her. She looked after Kathleen so well and I really wish her a happy life! I was also so happy that Liza came into her own and found herself again - she did make me think about how I have been as a mother myself! I so want to go and stay at Oakwood Cottage - it sounds like such an idyllic place!

If you are looking for a great story line with really well conceived characters you come to care about, look no further than this book - you won't regret it!

Thank you to Net Galley and the publishers for allowing me to read this book in exchange for a honest review, which is what I have given.

I loved this and would highly recommend it for a delightful summer read or actually, any time of the year read. This gave you travel, adventure, human element, secrets, in fact just about everything you would want in a great book. I loved that Kathleen was 80 years old and still wanting to do things also that a young Martha is willing to spend her summer with Kathleen. They had the adventure of a lifetime and were both better from it plus got to see many new places and met new people.
A very inspiring story for any age.

Absolutely adored this book. With being unable to properly travel due to restrictions, it felt great to read about Cornwall and a road trip across Route 66. It was like two trips in one.
Sarah Morgan always has fab well drawn characters in her books and delves into their relationships and emotions. The characters were like able (well, on the whole!) and believable with plenty of witty banter, I particularly loved the friendship that developed between Kathleen and Martha.

With many thanks to HQ for the opportunity to read this ARC, in return for an honest and unbiased review.

This is just a gorgeous book!!! I’ve heard so much about this author and it is my first book by her, it certainly won’t be my last

In a time where we can’t travel too far this is the perfect antidote!

Kathleen is 80 and feeling every year of it! Having spent a career travelling the globe presenting a tv travel show protecting a broken heart but being a ghost to her daughter!

Martha is 25 and fed up with being criticised for her decisions and not being the perfect child.

Together they form a team travelling the eponymous Route 66! Picking up a hitchhiker, Josh on the way.

I loved the escapism of this book and the storytelling from the perspectives of the three main characters - women in three very different stages of their lives all going through something. The camaraderie and joy they find in themselves and each other.

A definite read for the summer of 2021!

Wow, what a read! This is going on my forever shelf ready for my daughter to read when she is ready in the hope it will do for her, what it did for me! I was scared by how much I identified with Liza, the daughter in the story, and it’s made me determined to be different going forward. To appreciate what I have and also take responsibility for making changes/talking when things aren't so great.

I loved the different viewpoints, I absolutely adored Kathleen, what a legend of a lady! The backstories were so rich and believable making their actions so relatable and understandable in the story. I loved the hint of romance, the huge hit of family and the absolutely stunning scenery. I loved how different all the characters were and how this brought out the best in others. Don't get me started on Finn Cool — oo la la! Temptation in its greatest form and played to great effect!

This truly is such a poignant, special and life-affirming tale that I feel I can't do it justice in a review, all I can say is read it for yourself and you'll see what I mean.

I absolutely loved it and have recommended it to all my busy friends who love to read, even those busy daddy's out there! Fabulous!

An amazing book !
Funny, lighthearted , but also with loveable characters and intelligent writing.
The story follows Kathleen, her daughter Lisa and Martha who is young with no direction in life.
Kathleen and Martha undertake a road trip along Route 66 in America. Martha originally being employed as Kathleen's driver.
The interwoven stories of the three women make for delightful reading and it goes to show that you are never too old for another adventure!
The plot is well written with good flow and the reader sees the characters of the three women evolving and growing as the book progresses.
A great summer read that I recommend highly

Another fantastic read from Sarah Morgan which I thoroughly enjoyed
The story centres around three women from three generations. Kathleen (80) , Lisa her daughter and Martha who is a divorcee in her twenties.
In a nutshell, Kathlenn and Martha go on an epic road trip on route 66 and Lisa runs away from her family. All three women are searching and craving happiness. You will need to read the book to follow their journey and see if they find it.
Thanks to netgalley and the publishers for this read.

I have read a lot of Sarah Morgan's books and this one was quite different to lots of her others. The story was spilt between the US and UK and rather than the usual build up of romance between two characters the story concentrated on a mother daughter relationship that was complex and the daughter's relationship with her own family as well. Of course there was romance in the story but it did not seem like the main feature but, as ever, Morgan delivered a fast paced enjoyable read that pulls you in so that you are invested in the outcomes for each character. I will be reading more of her work in the future!
