I have read a lot of Sarah Morgan’s books and I always enjoy them but this is hands down, my absolute favourite.

The characters were just so perfect, from Kathleen’s wisdom , adventurous nature and strength to Martha’s enthusiasm and kindness, and Liza’s journey to finding herself, the stories linked so effortlessly.

The road trip was the perfect holiday escape from the world that we live in now and I know where I’ll be heading as soon as I can have an adventure!

This is the absolute perfect summer read that you need in your life. It will make you giggle, laugh and cry and have you rushing out for the next adventure you can have!

An absolute 5 star read ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is another solid gold, 5 star, utterly gorgeous book by Sarah Morgan. I loved every page of this adventure and I laughed, cried and empathised with the three main characters throughout. I loved and warmed to all of them from feisty Kathleen at 80, her very organised and concerned daughter, Liza and young, recently divorced Martha who takes the job as driver for Kathleen as she leaves her tranquil cottage in Cornwall to travel the famous Route 66 in the USA. Liza, the protective daughter feels that her mother should be slowing down, taking care and maybe moving into a retirement home rather than embarking on a wild adventure at her age but Kathleen is having none of it .and to Liza's dismay sets out with newly qualified driver, Martha, on the adventure of a lifetime. The story focuses more on the relationships and backgrounds of the characters rather than going into lots of detailed descriptions of the places they encountered on their journey which is something I enjoyed more as I was really invested in their individual stories. Both Martha and Liza have their own problems to overcome. Martha has had a troubled past, Liza's marriage and the relationship between her and her two teenage daughters is cause for concern and Kathleen herself is hiding some deep buried secrets from her past. She and Liza who have never been close find their perspectives change as their adventures become entwined and secrets are revealed. Add into this mix a handsome pop star who lives in the cottage next door to Kathleen in Cornwall and Josh, the hunky hitch hiker who joins Kathleen and Martha on their journey on Route 66 and you have a wonderful, feelgood, funny but also moving story. I definitely needed tissues a few times. The book is really well written and I felt as if I was the 4th passenger in the car travelling Route 66 and being a part of Kathleen's adventure- that's how real it all felt to me. I was sad to leave these characters behind. There is scope, I think, for a follow up book and I'd be first in line for a copy if ever Sarah were to write such a story..... hint! My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a pre release copy of this book in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

What an absolutely fantastic book, I can't recommend this one enough. This story follows the lives of three women, each of them at a point in their lives where they are questioning their now & their future. I can honestly say that I can relate to Liza on so many levels. It was truly lovely to watch how each of the ladies lives develop. Completely adictive, hard to put down.

The Summer Seekers by Sarah Morgan just has a glow about it from the very start. It's oozing sunshine as well as drama, and the writing style is descriptive without being overwhelming. This story is slightly different from Sarahs other novels in that it involves a road trip across America and 3 separate protagonists at a fork in the road of their lives and wondering how to move forward. Its not the usual wedding and relationship type story; this is a life affirming story of the struggles of women at various stages in their lives.
I dont think Sarah Morgan has written a book that I haven't enjoyed, but this is one of the best. I was excited to read it when it became available and I'm definitely glad I did...highly recommended.

I adore Sarah Morgan's books, and this was no exception. Set between the South coast and Route 66, this story follows three women as they decide to chase a new beginning.

This gentle novel has something for everyone: friendship, love, family and adventure. Three women, all at different stages in their lives, proving that adventure comes in many different forms and it's never too late to seek it. Her books celebrate female friendships and formidable women who are never less because of the choices they have made.

You know that holiday feeling when you've been sunning yourself all day, reading books and lazily drinking cocktails, with warm skin and zero emails to answers? That's how this book felt to me. Summer is nestling between those pages, and I loved the sunshine is brought to my March weekend.

A mother and a daughter both taking time out to find themselves and reconnect to each other and their lives. A super read. Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me review this book.

I've always liked Sarah Morgan's books and this one was no exception. I loved it. The Author has thrown together two of the most unlikely travelling partners ever, and made this such a fun read, and I wished I was one of their travelling companions. The characters are extremely likeable, and well written.

The storyline is also well written and descriptive and makes you feel like you are riding along with them on their journey. The descriptions of the destinations makes you feel as if you have actually been there yourself.

It is a tale of so many different emotions. There are tears, much laughter, and some annoyance along the way.

This was just the book I needed to read in these current climes and put a smile on my face for quite some time. I'm even smiling as I'm writing this.

Wow absolutely loved the summers seekers from start to finish! Three very different woman, three very different agendas but surprisingly similar in their needs! The wonderful eccentric Kathleen, her daughter Liza caught up in the drudge of family life and Martha recoiling from a divorce and lack of self worth! A road trip like no other,Route 66 for Kathleen and Martha and for Liza her own voyage of discovery based back at her mother’s cottage! Wonderful descriptions of the route taken, sights seen, food eaten and the lovely hitchhiker who joined the merry duo! A road trip like no other a real journey of a lifetime that ultimately changes all their lives for the better would so love to read a sequel!

An 80 year old woman decides to travel route 66 across America to confront her past, which she has not talked about with her daughter. She leaves behind her gorgeous house in Cornwall and a cranky cat. Her daughter is the most organised sensible person on the planet who always puts family in front of her own needs, but finally cracks and runs away to her mother's house...to feed the cat... Throw in a decisive rock star, an attractive hitch hiker, and a new friend who learns she really can drive a car, and you have three journeys of self discovery and mended relationships. There could be more about the travel and a little less deep and meaningful, but otherwise a nice read

Our main character in this beautifully written Book about Family ,past loves & looking forward is octogenarian Kathleen. After she knocks someone out after they accidently intruded into her Kitchen in the wee hours , & her daughter Liza decides it would be best for her mum to go into Residential Care , Kathleen rebels in the hugest way possible & decides to go travelling across America along the famous route 66, she doesn't drive so she pays a wonderful Character Martha to do that in a Ford Mustang Convertible ! These three women for various reasons are all about to go on their own personal Journey of a Life Time.
It's full of lots of life experiences we can all relate too , it will make you laugh, almost cry ,get made with frustration but it will keep you captivated from start to finish, & I cannot recommend it highly enough. #FB,#Instagram,#Goodreads, #NetGalley, # Amazon.co.uk #<img src="https://www.netgalley.com/badge/c566f42be23a0e25d120e78a3454e2d427c4beee" width="80" height="80" alt="50 Book Reviews" title="50 Book Reviews"/>,#<img src="https://www.netgalley.com/badge/ef856e6ce35e6d2d729539aa1808a5fb4326a415" width="80" height="80" alt="Reviews Published" title="Reviews Published"/>,#<img src="https://www.netgalley.com/badge/aa60c7e77cc330186f26ea1f647542df8af8326a" width="80" height="80" alt="Professional Reader" title="Professional Reader"/>.

I’d read other books by Sarah Morgan in the past and really enjoyed them so I was extremely hopeful about The Summer Seekers. Being completely honest, it took me a little while to get into this one and I picked it up a couple of times before before sitting down to finish it in one go.

I really loved the character of Kathleen. It’s not often I read books about 80 year old women but this one was feisty and with a lot of life in her. Kathleen had once presented shows about travel and after a bit of an incident at home, wants to get back out there for an adventure. She can’t drive herself so hires 25 year old Martha to drive her across Route 66 in America.

Although an unlikely pair, the relationship between Kathleen and Martha was a fantastic one and the banter between them was really entertaining. Each of them turned out to be good for one another, pushing the other to do things they might not ordinarily.

Not only is this book a bit of an adventure but it’s also about finding yourself and believing in yourself, no matter what your age is. One of my favourites from Sarah Morgan.

I always enjoy Sarah Morgan’s books and this was no exception. A brilliant story that follows three women, at very different stages of their lives but all unhappy and needing a change. And boy do they get that as the scene changes from London to Cornwell to The length of Route 66. To start with I wasn’t entirely sure about the characters but they grew and grew on me and I was sad to leave them when it finished. A brilliant read

An enjoyable read with relatable characters, great setting and several layers of a story.

Initially, I didn’t warm to the three main female characters of Kathleen, Liza and Martha but it warmed up once Kathleen and Martha had met! I really enjoyed the interactions with the pop star Finn Cool (what a great name!),

A variety of themes brought interest. Made me think about dealing with challenges, finding your inner strength, being open with your partner, dealing with loss and reconciliation.

Unusually for this author, there was no big fireworks romance but the underlying romances were more nuanced and refined. Three romances run through the book with different challenges and circumstances - but the over riding message is of hope!

I loved the travel setting and by the sea in Cornwall - made me ache for the beachside views!

An enjoyable read 4*

Lisa and her mother Kathleen have a different relationship. Is it too late to mend it? Will Lisa’s marriage survive when she steps away from her family and finds a new love interest. A good beach read.

Kathleen is eighty years old and after a life affirming experience with an intruder decides the best course of action is definitely not the retirement home her daughter has in mind.

Liza, her daughter, is struggling with the demands of family life, and the last thing she needs is her mother making wild holiday plans.

Martha has hit a quarter-life crisis. Unemployed and uninspired she’s struggling to get her life on a track her family will be proud of.

As these women embark on their journeys of a lifetime, they’re about to discover that it’s never too late for an adventure.

Sarah Morgan never fails to write a story that whisks me away to a fabulous destination, and this story is no exception as we hit the historic Route 66 in a cherry-red Mustang!!

Told from the viewpoints of the three protagonists via alternating chapters, I found it to be a fast-paced but leisurely read. Often when there are multiple main characters I find myself liking one slightly less and therefore skimming those sections. However, Kathleen, Liza and Martha all brought something different and their own uniqueness to the story that was extremely pleasing.

The pages of this book were absolutely full of sunshine, scenery and plenty of satire which was exactly what I required during a dreary March in UK lockdown. Although the travel was pivotal to the story I was thankful it didn’t read like a guide book, but was very much a take of personal journeys over the physical ones.

What I loved most about this story was the lack of focus on a romance, but instead it centred on three strong and independent women all finding themselves and readdressing the balance at different stages of their lives. It was extremely empowering!

Highly recommend this, and all of Morgan's work, to fans and newbies alike. The perfect escapism!

Sarah Morgan's books never fail to cheer me up, and transport me away from the reality of my life and this was it turns out the perfect book for me to read while I was battling with Covid vaccination side affects.

I was able to lose myself within the pages and didn't feel as ill as I was generally feeling while I was reading the story,

And it's such a feel good book about three generations of women, and one epic road trip along Route 66.

We have Kathleen who is 80 and is used to a life of travel and adventure and has decided she wants what could be her last big adventure, one she has been putting off but always wanted to do, which is to travel along Route 66, in a mustang.

However she no longer drives so advertises for someone who is willing to do the driving and settles on Martha who is 25 and very happy to leave her life behind for the summer to take this trip, even if she isn't entirely honest about her driving ability. Martha is though a tonic and she is so bright and chatty, that you know she will add colour to the trip.

And then there is Liza, Kathleen's daughter, who is going through a bit of a marriage crisis, while also worrying a lot about her mother who she isn't particularly close to and isn't to thrilled at the thought of her going off on a road trip with a stranger.

I loved the alternating focuses on the three characters, for Kathleen has a big secret from her past which we will get to see be uncovered, Martha really need to gain some confidence in her life choices, after years of feeling second best to her sister, and Liza needs to re-discover herself in a role that isn't a wife and mother.

And I loved the road trip itself, and got a feel for the various places along the route, and kind of wish I had been in the car with them. In part because it would mean I was travelling again, and also because it really is a once in a life time trip.

There was just such a great dynamic between Kathleen and Martha, and I loved the way that Liza was able to develop over the course of the book too.

The Summer Seekers is another in a very long line of simply impressively enjoyable and fabulous books from Sarah Morgan. Although Kathleen would probably tell me off for too much hyperbole for that last sentence! However I don't care as it's completely true, it's another wonderful book from one of of my favourite auto read authors!

Thank you to HQ and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

I enjoyed this very much, engaging story with empathetic characters and lovely setting. My only complaint is that I felt it finished very abruptly and I would have liked a rounding up chapter!! Thank you.

Sarah Morgan has done it again with another fabulous story. The Summer Seekers is set between the beautiful Cornish coast and the spectacular famous Route 66 in America.
Kathleen is 80 years young and definitely not ready to give up on life or up sticks and move into a residential home, so she advertises for a driver and embarks on a road trip in a stunning American car. Martha a young lady who is newly divorced and lacking in confidence sees the advert and sees it as a way to escape her family and emotions. Together they make a formidable team and help each other on the journey both realising its never too late to change your life.
I enjoyed the bond that Kathleen and Martha quickly built, with Martha becoming a surrogate Granddaughter and gently urging Kathleen to face her past and make amends. The road trip brings a love interest for Martha and a rekindling of the Mother Daughter bond that has been missing between Kathleen and her daughter Liza.
My thanks to Net Galley for the ARC digital copy of this 5 star book, these are my own thoughts on The Summer Seekers.
