Sarah Morgan at her best. The story of 3 individuals of different generations all with issues which intermingle with each other for different reasons. The descriptions of Route 66 make wannabe travellers yearn for this sort of experience. A delight to read

I have always loved Sarah Morgan books and this was no exception. It’s a lovely story with lovable characters and a beautiful adventure. Loved both places that it’s set.

A lovely feel good read which I raced through, as I was desperate to find out what happens to Kathleen, her daughter Liza, Martha and her old friend Ruth.

Kathleen sets out on a Californian adventure with Martha as her driver. Martha is escaping an unhappy time at home, and Kathleen is reflecting on her broken friendship with Ruth and difficult relationship with Liza. At the same time Liza has her own problems to deal with. Definitely a book to add to your bookshelf.

This book tells a great story with great characters. It’s a different kind of story, with three different perspectives from an 80 year old would-be adventurer, her daughter who is so bogged down with work, home and family that she has forgotten how to relax, follow her dreams and enjoy her life and Martha, an unhappy girl in her early twenties with a critical mother who saps all her self confidence and no job.
We go from beautiful Cornwall to travelling Route 66 from Chicago to California, it’s interesting, heartwarming and funny - everything I love in a book
I was sorry to finish this book and leave these people behind, so (note to Sarah) I sincerely hope that there’s a follow up, maybe continuing with Martha’s life.

I struggled a bit with the first couple of chapters - Kathleen’s daughter was a pain. However I carried on reading and was so glad I did. It was a wonderful story about generations teaching and supporting each other. I loved Martha who blossomed with Kathleen’s friendship and whose gentle nature helped Kathleen with a difficult decision.

A book that stayed with me long after I turned the last page and one I am happy to recommend

I thoroughly enjoyed this because it’s a very well-written story with interesting characters. The tropes are common ones, but they are well executed.

However, I finished the book with a huge question mark hovering over my head. What about Finn! He was such an engaging, interesting and attractive character and after a fabulous episode with him, he was suddenly dismissed! I do hope SM will be writing a book about him!

I’ve knocked off a star, because having engaged my interest in Finn, SM simply abandoned him and I was desperate to know he was going to find a happy ending. 4 stars.

Sarah Morgan at her best. A great story. Covered up to date topics, working mothers, husbands who take stay at home wives for granted. I loved Liza's husband timing, just in time. Also the twins realising what their mother did. Also Katherines strong character and how she protected her neighbour. A brilliant read

Books by Sarah Morgan always have an unlying message and The Summer Seekers is pure joy. It’s a deep exploration of the lives of mother and daughter. Two very different ladies, in different circumstances with barely a mum and daughter relationship.

Taking themselves out of the norm seeking summer, addressing old habits, bad habits and exploring change to how they feel and behave.

I loved this story, I connected with each character and an aspect of their self awareness, so could understand and feel true empathy for each character. A heart warming tale of change and self development.

I really enjoyed this book, one of Sarah’s best, it’s deeper story made the tears form. I loved it’s warmth, compassion and made me think about my life and decisions too.

Highly recommended read for 2021, the perfect summer read for inspiration with lots of analogy passages that make you go wow.

This is a fantastic feel good read which is perfect for summer. The three main characters are very likeable and you are drawn into their lives as they face up to their pasts and prepare to face the future. The book is set in two locations, Cornwall and Route 66 in America and the well written descriptions make you long to travel.

Another brilliant read from Sarah Morgan about family and friend relationships which she does so well. A book to escape with this summer taking the reader from the wonderful rugged coast of off-the-beaten-track Cornwall together with the infamous Route 66 from Chicago to California. Full of sunshine and a lot of humour from feisty Kathleen at 80 to twin mid-teenage girls. Wonderful characters to empathise with and a gentle book to totally immerse in which most people would find something to relate to. Plenty of heart warming episodes with feel good elements. One of Sarah's best reads to date and thoroughly recommended .

Life's a journey not a destination.....A great read...all about needing to live in the moment and being at peace with your past. Liza is fed up of being at everyone's beck and call and has lost herself.... Kathleen is 80 odd and needs one last hurrah and to make peace with the past. Martha has a disastrous relationship behind her and needs to move on. Wonderful characters and brilliant detailing of their relationships and adventures. I loved this book...empathy, understanding, humour and realism mixed together to make a compelling read. Was sad to have finished it. Highly recommend.
