Gosh what a lovely book. I watch Carol Kirkwood read the weather and to think she wrote such a fab book at the same time.A story of family , love, Hollywood . I loved the boat descriptions and all the part about Grace Kelly. You felt for Shauna and her mother was horrid. I loved how she took Alex in and found her daughter. Her friendship with Roxy stood the test of time. A brilliant read.. I have read it as an advance copy. Can’t wait to hold it as a paperback

Hollywood actress Shauna Jackson left the Greek island of Ithos twenty years ago and thought she would never return. Reeling from a scandal that has tarnished her success, she is drawn back to the beautiful olive groves and endless azure skies – and to the secrets she has tried hard to forget.

Looking down from his hilltop villa, enigmatic tycoon Demetrios Theodosis knows he can’t change the past, and looks to the future through his tempestuous daughter Ariana, but in trying to tame her free spirit, is he driving her further away?

Set against bleached white houses bounded by a sapphire sea, a yearning for the truth will compel them both to confront their shared past, and take them back to a distant summer that seemed to hold so much promise …

Sheer escapism, beautifully written, I will look for more of this author’s work.
My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my advance copy of this title. I highly recommend it.

Shauna and Roxy become firm friends in their student days and go off together on an adventure in Europe. Twenty years later they have become successful in their chosen careers but take some time out to revisit a special Greek island from that long ago trip. There they meet a young woman who is seeking some answers. This is a perfect feelgood holiday read though I was slightly irritated by the Hollywood A-lister name dropping!

I really enjoyed this book. I wasn't sure what to expect from this debut novel, particularly given Carol Kirkwood is better known as a TV presenter, but I needn't have worried.

The book was set around a trip to a Greek Island, where romance blossoms before real life takes over. It's a tale of love, hope, friendship and longing and is an engaging read. I thought it was a well plotted story and had good characters, who I cared about what happened to them. The sunshine setting combined with some glamour and some idyllic island life made it a nice bit of escapism. A really nice summer read.

A perfect holiday read mainly set on a Greek Island. Well written and atmospheric with plenty to keep the reader's attention. with delightfully depicted characters. Light and relaxing to read with a good ending even if a little predictable but this doesn't detract from the story at all. A brilliant first novel and hopefully we shall be hearing more from Carol in the future

A wonderful debut novel from Carol Kirkwood!

Set in Monaco, Greece and Hollywood this is a great summer read, especially in these times where we’re unable to travel.

Under a Greek Moon tells the story of Shauna who sets of to the South of France for a summer break that sees her and her friend Roxys life change in ways they could never imagine.

This book has it all, fabulous destinations. Hollywood glamour and a wonderful story of an ordinary girl who has an extraordinary career.

I loved this book from beginning to end.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this ARC.

For a debut book, I think the author has really excelled and wrote a great story here, and one I thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end. The main characters were so likeable and believable and I loved that the story was told from their perspectives. The author was so descriptive with her writing, I could picture Ithos and many of the other places in my mind. I thought it was a book that is very uplifting, and a feel good read that flowed really well. It is about romance, first loves, friendships and family relationships. There wasn’t anything I didn’t like here, this was, for me, a wonderful, engaging read that I absolutely loved. Well done Carol Kirkwood, you’ve wrote a cracker of a book here, and I hope there are more books to follow from this one.

Like everyone has said, it’s like the author has been writing for years. Excellent debut novel. Just shows you how even after 20 years feelings remain. Thanks for letting me read :)

Well Carol Kirkwood. What a debut novel. You had me hooked from the very first page, right through to the very last word! I was riveted. I’m in awe. I just loved Shauna O’Brien, she was the perfect heroine, not faultless, but always try to perfect herself. Her family life wasn’t the best, but she had THE best friend ever in Roxy Lennon. Roxy has been there for her throughout. She was there when she fell in love, when she had her heart broken, when she became famous, when she suffered loss, when she discovered love again. Then we have Demetrius Theodosis. What can I say? I loved him. We all make mistakes, what matters is that we learn from them. I’d normally say that this is the perfect beach read, imagine lying on a lounger in, let’s say, Ithos, but the fact of the matter is, most of the reading will be done in Your home country this year Wherever you are, I 100% recommend sitting and relaxing with your favourite cocktail and getting lost in this truly wonderful romance. I loved it.

I didn't realise that Carol Kirkwood had written a book and I believe this is her first novel, but it really didn't feel like it – it read to me as the work of somebody who had been writing for years.

I enjoyed the pace and the glamorous settings in the South of France, Greek Islands and Hollywood and it had a really captivating storyline that spanned several generations and a very satisfying ending.

I will be looking out for more novels from Carol Kirkwood and highly recommend this as a great summer read!

A really enjoyable book to lose yourself in. Shauna is a strong and likeable character who makes a name for herself as an actress. But she never forgets the Summer 20 years ago when she fell In love.

It’s a great book to take on holiday and I would recommend it

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this debut novel by Carol Kirkwood, it was well written and a fascinating story. It kept my attention from beginning to end. The story is intriguing and full of wonderful descriptions of sun-drenched Greek islands, Hollywood and its screen icons; I didn't want to put it down.

Shauna O'Brien holidays in Greece with her best friend Roxy and this changes her life. I really liked Shauna, her character is strong but really sweet and kind too. I loved watching her come into her own and watch her success. The story has a wealth of secondary characters, Demetrius the Greek shipping tycoon and Shauna's first love, Roxy her best friend, plus a host of likeable and not so likeable people too.

Set against a wonderful backdrop of sunny days, white beaches and blue seas, this story had me charmed and kept me guessing nearly to the end. This book makes for a perfect summer read and one I definitely recommend reading.

An easy read to escape into. Set between 1980's when a teenage Shauna and wealthy Demitrious fall in love and 20 years later when their lives have followed different paths. Shauna is now widowed and returns to the Greek island where she first met Demitrious. Absolutely perfect holiday reading.

I enjoyed this one even if it was a little predictable. Likeable, well written characters and an interesting story that was a bit different to the usual holiday read. Would recommend.

A great holiday read, loved the storyline, the location and the characters but the book lost one star from me as I found some of the dialogue, particularly in romantic scenes, a little stilted and Mills and Boon of yesteryear in style.

Shauna Jackson who was born in England but went backpacking and ended up on the Greek isle of Ithos. She left there vowing never to return and became a Hollywood actress. Then a scandal hits her and she goes back
