While nothing groundbreaking or very new in its ideas, "Gudetama: mindfulness for the lazy" does what many self-help books about the same topics can't do: explain things in a short, clear, and fun way.

It's such a short read, but still felt quite nice - mostly because of the incredible art! It's all very adorable and colorful; full-color comic style, with short "chapters" that are just different scenarios of Nisetama and Gudetama teaching others about how to be more present in the moment, how to be mindful, how to deal with stressful situations and things like that.

I wouldn't buy this book for myself, but I'd for sure gift it to some friends, especially those who like Gudetama!

This book was bizarre!
As someone who is interested in mindfulness, I was intrigued by this book.

It was ok, and I enjoyed the illustrations but it felt very random and the whole world was very strange.

What’s the best way to teach mindfulness? With cute Sanrio characters!

With stressful times like these, the wise words of the perpetually lazy and chilled out Gudetama is exactly what you need. The last few months for me have not been easy, so reading this is a much needed guide. It discusses the benefits of mindfulness and meditation, how to apply a mindful approach to difficult situations, and how to decompress from stress and how to approach it in a calm manner. It’s full of thoughtful messages, about taking care of yourself and being kind to those around you, even if it proves difficult.

I think the biggest benefit of this graphic novel is that it’s short, and so it’s perfect for the busy professional, or someone who doesn’t have much time. It holds your attention with cute characters and colourful illustrations that make the reading experience easier to digest. That’s a huge benefit if someone is being introduced to mindfulness for the first time. Not just for the lazy!

Also, Gudetama is just one big mood. I love him.

I think many people can benefit from this graphic novel. It’s short and to the point, and it has a lot of messages everyone could really do with hearing right now.

This book looked too cute to resist! What a vibrant and adorable cover, and same goes for the lovely illustrations. A quick and simple read, this book shares some key values of mindfulness such as living in the present, treating others how you want to be treated, being sympathetic and showing up for others.

This is a cute, funny, and super quick graphic novel aimed at a young audience or big fans of Gudetama. This short work focuses on mindfulness and has lessons on how to be more thoughtful in various situations. Reminds me of the kind of lessons you'd get from Sesame Street or Mr. Rogers but with a quirky Gudetama twist.

Is fun but really meant for superfans or a young audience.
