After reading The Perfect Daughter by DJ Palmer at the same time as this, this book was not for me. A shame because the premise was good but the story had gaps and lags, and it was kind of flat. A no for me. This was not what I was expecting with a title like this, it was boring. Do not waste your time.

All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thanks to Netgalley, Kirsty Ferguson and Boldwell Books for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

What the hell did I just read? Those are my final thoughts on this book. I made plenty of notes as I read, they are below:

The beginning happened so quickly and I wondered why the police never arrived, it was just an ambulance. Wouldn't it be standard procedure, even for an accident? Dana's family immediately rallied around her, which was great, but it almost seemed like they were not completely devastated and horrified. Dana and Logan go home afterward, alone. I would never think to leave them alone so soon. Plus, as a mom, I would have gone with my child, no matter what. Also, can we discuss how horrible a husband Logan is in the first chapter alone? He came off as completely useless as a husband and she seemed to be overall OK with it.
- nobody really seems that supportive
- I'm reading the words but not feeling the emotions
Melanie scared me from the get go, she was just a little too eager and overly friendly.
This book is a friggin train wreck
Don't appreciate getting one perspective the entire time and then abruptly, it's Logan's perspective, then Alesha's with no warning
The story just keeps getting worse and worse.
There is not a single character worth liking, it just keeps getting worse
Dana goes to her parents house several times after the incident, yet the last few times are difficult? What about the other times she showed up there?

Just finished and I have no words. I will say, I kept reading, waiting for a light at the end of the tunnel, it never came. I can't even articulate my thoughts on this book. It wasn't for me though.
Thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC of this book!

A good read.
Dana has all she ever wanted – a husband she loves, her four-year-old daughter Kelsey who is the apple of her eye, and another baby on the way to complete her perfect family.
But then the worst fear that Dana has, comes true, and everything she thought she knew, she now starts to doubt. As her world comes crashing around her, who can Dana trust?
Her husband Logan who seems to be getting worryingly close to Dana’s best friend Pippa? Her new friend Melanie who has a sinister habit of turning up in the strangest places?
I highly recommend this book to everyone.
Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for giving me an advance copy.

My blood boiled three chapters in this book. No one in that house was watching the daughter after she told them all to keep an eye on her? I would have booted that husband out right away after his neglect, putting his beer first, and treating his wife like that when he should have been a parent. I can't get over the audacity of the people in this book. Blaming Dana as though she is the problem. Lying to her, cheating on her, etc. Talk about enabled and entitled characters. What makes all these people think they are entitled to her baby? I'm sorry but i cannot recommend this book to anyone. it was horrible. Reminds me of all the people in society these days that feel they are above the law and can do whatever they want.
